Keavyloves...

Sorry for no posts in a while, I didn’t really know what to write about.

Firstly, why does Netflix make us wait a month between each part it is most awful. In my ranking of the seasons this comes second behind Season two, the Cinderella re-telling was one of my favourite aspects of the season and really made the audience understand the relationship between Benedict and Sophie. Bridgerton season four came out a week after I finished watching Heated Rivalry, so I loved the similarity between the cottage and my cottage, and I never want to leave both cottages.

Throughout all the seasons, my favourite part is the classical covers of songs and season four had such good ones. My three favourite covers were 360, Never Be the Same and Enchanted, Sophie looking at Benedict thorough the crack in the door while Enchanted was playing was my favourite part of the whole season. The discussion of music links directly into talking about the recital ball that Hyacinth and Gregory take part in because they play a song the kids would be listening to and made them do a cute little dance that worked really well with their roles in the show. It was supposed to be awkward and a little cringe . This also shows that the show is willing to give the younger two a larger role especially Hyacinth.

Francesca’s Storyline is absolutely heart-breaking and Hannah Dodd’s acting was absolutely phenomenal this season especially the scene with Violet where she talks about the eight children her mother has. The breakdown she has is powerful and so sad as she feels that she hasn’t done her duty for her husband which is awful. Even her more light-hearted acting in the first half of the season with Penelope is incredible and she deserves all the awards for her acting.

Just a little note to say that Anthony and Kate coming back was an absolute highlight of the season

Formula one is one of my favourite things and if you know me as a person, you know it is a bit of a random thing for me to be into. I am a very girly person and motorsports is typically more male- dominated but that is changing. I have been into formula one for about two years but I have known about it for a long time. One of my friends was really into the sport and would show me stuff about the sport such as race highlights and funny edits of the drivers. I got in through watching all of 2023’s race highlights and to understand the dynamics between the teams and the drivers, I watched Drive To Survive but very much took it with a pinch of salt because I knew how much over- dramatised the tv programme was. I combined my love of Films and F1 when I found all the F1 films such as Rush and Senna. These films really helped me understand what Formula one was like before I started watching.

I chose my favourite drivers quickly with me, basically looking at a list of names and teams and looking up videos of the drivers being funny to choose my favourites. My absolutely favourite driver is Lando Norris who races for McLaren, there is many things that make him my favourite but my favourite thing about him is his sense of humour, his smile, and his personality. I watched Quadrant videos and videos of him streaming before I chose him as my favourite. My second favourite is Ollie Bearman who drives for Haas, I basically chose Ollie because I had watched him in the junior formulas and he is the driver that lives nearest to me. Within many of the funny videos that Lando is in there is also George Russel and Alex Albon as the three of them were rookies together in Formula one and those two are my joint third favourite drivers.

I enjoy every aspect of formula one whether that be the racing, the strategy or just simply what funny trends can the media team get the drivers to do. Shoutout to the VCarb social media team. I am just so interested in the media outside of the racing just as much as I am interested in the on-track action. The current series that is on that is called Passenger princess where Amelia Dimoldenberg is being taught how to drive by F1 drivers. I wish I could have F1 drivers teach me how to drive.

I am awaiting Lando’s first World Championship win. Fingers Crossed for this year.

On the 3rd of October, Dr Taylor Alison Swift graced our ears with a brand new album called The Life Of A Showgirl. I went into this album expecting an album full of absolute bangers and I got that. Being someone who loves a mixture of songs on an album with my favourite album being TTPD and Red, I loved it when I listened for the first time and there was a mix of fun pop and excellent lyricism.

For the first time ever I had a listening party for this album hosted at my friend Erin’s house with 5 swifties in attendance. All of us had stayed off of social media during the day to make sure we heard no spoilers for the album. The release day was absolutely packed with the listening party then off to the cinema to watch the official release party of a showgirl.

For my own thoughts of this album, I thought it sounded different to what I thought it would sound like. For me this album had one of the best collabs with Taylor Swift and Sabrina Carpenter, these two are my top two artists so this collab was my worlds colliding. The Fate of Ophelia music video that debuted at the film was just incredible, the storytelling, the layers of story all added up to one of my favourite music videos in a long time. My top three off of the album are Honey, Wood and The Life Of A Showgirl (Feat.Sabrina Carpenter), this changes everyday though. From my friends that were at the listening party, I gathered some of their thoughts and overall they all really enjoyed the album as a whole.

Erin writes that her top three are ‘The Fate of Ophelia’, ‘Opalite’ and ‘Elizabeth Taylor’. She writes how she “loves how The Life Of A Showgirl has such a pop vibe and lots of them are so catchy especially ‘The Fate Of Ophelia’. Erin describes the album as a glitter gel pen album and writes that she is obsessed with the music video and the dance that is in it.

Hettie writes that her top three is ‘Opalite’, ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ and ‘The Fate Of Ophelia’. She writes that she loves the vibe of the whole album, how upbeat it is and how easy it is to dance too. Hettie says that the album is such a vibe and in some ways relatable. Hettie loved the album so much that she gave some honourable mentions being ‘Ruin the Friendship’ and ‘Elizabeth Taylor’.

Poppy writes that her top three is ‘The Fate of Ophelia’, ‘Elizabeth Taylor’ and ‘Cancelled!’. She writes that she loves the new album and how it is so different to her other albums. Poppy’s writes that the beat is so upbeat and makes you want to dance.

For this weeks late(sorry) blog post, I am going to be writing and reviewing two films I recently watched. If you aren’t already, go follow me on letterboxd where I upload my film reviews and keep up to date with what I am watching. I am very proud of my letterboxd profile and have spent lots of time making it look nice and organised. If you recall back to last weeks post I discussed my challenges for the year and letterboxd is the best way to see how I am getting on with this challenge.

The two films I’m going to be reviewing is Little Women(2019) and Materalists(2025). Both of these films I watched for the first time within the last couple of weeks.

Baring  in mind I am a hardcore Greta Gerwig stan( in my top four films half of them are hers) I had never watched Little Women so this was quite an exciting watch for me. My short review on letterboxd discussed my absolute love of Greta Gerwig and the relationship between Amy and Laurie head over to letterboxd to get the whole review.  I saved this film for the Autumn as the aesthetic and overall feel of the film has a very autumnal palette of colours within. The browns, reds and greens of an autumnal colour palette are shown throughout the film in every scene. The sisterly bond between the sisters within the film makes it a very wholesome and heart-warming and was definitely my favourite part of the film. Even though I know that the jumping between different timelines makes it book accurate, it was still confusing as I had to recall back to what was happening in that timeline. I gave this film four stars and I did this because I felt that me as the audience was left wanting more after the film had finished.

The second film, I’m reviewing is Materialists(2025) this film stars Chris Evans, Dakota Johnson and Pedro Pascal. I watched this film in the cinema about a week after it came out with a group of about seven people. I was very excited to see this because I was so upset that the US got the film about two months before the UK did. It is a classic rom- com with a sort of love triangle and second chance romance arc. My short review that has been written on letterboxd makes reference to the quote that Pedro Pascal’s character says which is this generations would you love me if I was a worm is would you date me if I was five foot six. The pan down to Pedro’s character bending his knees was absolute comedic timing. The opening five minutes of the film was so confusing and was very irrelevant until the last ten mins of the film and could have been cut from the film. This is the second film I’ve watched this year by Celine Song and I definitely enjoyed this film more than Past Lives which was the other film I watched by her.

Films, Books and Albums

Fun fact about me I love ticking something off and making a list. So I love to have a goal of things to do within a year and this year my main focus has been watching films as that is my goal for what I would like to do in the future (reviewing and critiquing films). I have also been doing challenges to do with books and albums too.

My main three challenges have been to

-              Watch 365 films in the year

-              Listen to 100 albums in the year

-              Read 40 books in the year.

My biggest challenge is watching 365 films; this is because watching a film a day is a hard ask in my general day to day life. I have watched 191 films so far this year but at the time of writing I am 68 films behind which is manageable I believe. My favourite two films I have watched so far this year have been Priscilla and Fantastic Four: First Steps. One of these films I watched at school and the other I watched in the cinema, showing the difference between the several ways that I watch films. Whether its on an iPad while doing something else or watching it on a big screen in the cinema. Priscilla was a film that was a highly anticipated watch for me as I had heard such good things about the film from the acting to the direction of the film. The film is such a beautiful film and has a gorgeous aesthetic within it. The casting is incredible and Sofia Coppola’s film making skills are just full of talent. Fantastic Four: First Steps is one of the best Marvel Films to be released in recent years and has made me so excited for the next few marvel films. I had wanted to see it straight away when it came out, but I went on holiday when the film came out, so I had to wait three weeks to be able to see the film. I went into this film blind by the fact that I hadn’t watched the trailer before I went in. The cast of this film was what excited me before I watched this film. I walked out and I instantly wanted to go and rewatch the film again and again. The whole family dynamic within the film made me so incredible excited. Hopefully, I complete my challenge.

My second challenge is listening to 100 brand new, never been listened to by me albums. For this challenge I have to listen to a new to me album in the order it was put in by the artist. I have listened to 31 albums so far this year and am a little bit behind, but I can get back on track. My favourite two albums I have listened to this year have been Man’s Best Friend by Sabrina Carpenter and Don’t Smile at Me by Billie Eilish. Don’t Smile at Me was the first album I listened to for this challenge and has quickly become my absolute favourite Billie album with my top 3 on this album being Hostage, Bellyache and Party Favour. In my opinion is it an extremely underrated Billie album. My second favourite album i’ve listened to is Man’s Best Friend by Sabrina Carpenter this is one of my more recent listens to for this challenge. I listened to this album on release day this year. My favourite three songs on this album are When Did You Get Hot? Goodbye and House Tour. Sabrina encapsulates the genre of fun girly pop in this album which is definitely my favourite genre of pop. I should be able to finish this challenge making sure I listen to new albums a lot.

My Third and final Challenge is the one that I am crazy far behind in which is my books challenge. Normally I am fairly good in reading books throughout a year but this year I have really been lacking. This year I am aiming to read 40 books in the year and so far I have read 5 books so I don’t believe that this will be a challenge that will be completed. However I have read one book that really sticks out to me was the book The Do-Over by Lynn Painter. For the last few years I have had a tradition of reading a Lynn Painter book as my first book of the year and continued this tradition this year by reading one of her only books that I haven’t read The Do- Over. This book was just absolutely incredible and I loved the plot to it and the repeating of the story again and again.

On Saturday 6th of September 2025, Radio 2 brought their festival sort of event to Hylands Park in Chelmsford. I was lucky enough to get a ticket along with my family to go. The lineup was incredible starting with Stereophonics, following with Ella henderson with other artists such as, Ronan Keating and the headliner being Bryan Adam’s and this was just the main stage. Along with the main stage, there was also a Dj Tent with the radio 2 djs doing special sets in the tent all day long.

During the day, I caught the first three acts including Stereophonics and Ella Henderson, my two favourites of the day. Then I headed over to the Dj tent catching part of Paddy McGuiness’s School Disco’s set and Romesh Raganathan’s R and B set. These two sets were really good and the crowd was dancing and jumping the whole time. Then it was time to head back to the main stage to catch Jessie J’s set, this being the second time I’ve seen her this year. The highlight being her little boy coming onto the stage. Ronan Keating came on next singing his biggest hits such as Rollercoaster creating an incredible atmosphere.

The main reason I attended this concert was because of my mum’s love of the welsh band  Stereophonics. This was the first time I have ever seen them and I was three rows away from the barrier for both Stereophonics and Ella Henderson. Seeing both of these artists for the first time was crazy they got very close to where we were stood due to the the little stage that came out of the main stage. This meant that I made eye contact with Ella Henderson multiple times as I was apart of a crowd that was mainly not singing so I think she was appreciative that someone was singing along to her performance. My favourite song of hers was the duet that she normally does with Tom Greenan called ‘Let’s go home together’ and instead of Tom Greenan coming out instead her multi talented drummer came out from behind the drum kit to perform the most gorgeous version of this song. This song wasn’t on my bingo list to be played at the show so it was the most amazing surprise for me as a absolutely huge fan of the song.

This was my most incredible day at radio 2 in the park. This is also my first bonus post on this blog so expect more of these. But we will be back to normal scheduling after this.

2025 was one for the history books whether it was my many festivals or many theatre shows something was happening every week.

There was six main events that happened throughout the Summer with those being Capital's Summertime Ball At Wembley Stadium, BST Hyde Park Night One, BST Hyde Park Night Six, THe Great Gatsby London, Hadestown London and Moulin Rouge London.

These 6 events were definitely the highlights of my Summer. My favourite thing that happened during the summer was definitely BST Hyde Park Night One where Olivia Rodrigo was the headliner. I have been wanted to see Olivia perform since 2019 when I first watched High School Musical: the Musical: the Series. I have tried for tickets for every tour since and have just never been successful so this was just an absolute dream come true. During this day, I had a couple of highlights such as meeting the insanely talented Caity Baser. Me and one of my friends I went with met her after her show on the Rainbow stage and it was such a pinch-me moment. Another highlight of this day is when she brought out ED SHEERAN to sing The A Team this song is fully embedded within the memories of my childhood along with all the music of his. The moment I realised it was Ed Sheeran coming out I just started sobbing my eyes out, it was just one of those moments. I continued to sob throughout the two singing.

My other favourite moment was the day I saw The Great Gatsby in London. On this day me and my friends went to Primrose Hill for a picnic and then went shopping in Camden. This day was a very last minute sort of affair with us only booking the tickets mere days beforehand. The Great Gatsby was a show I was desperate to see as the cast was stellar and I am studying The Great Gatsby at the moment and it was a perfect show to see. The show was incredible with catchy songs such as New Money, My Green Light and Only Tea. The even more incredible part was the fact that we got to meet the cast after the show. Meeting Corbin Bleu was definitely the highlight with him signing my programme and asking if the selfie me and my friends took with him looked good and even retaking it when it didn't look good.
