For my next character Im jumping back to character to create a personal piece, I’ve always wanted to make an awesome cyborg Anubis but make it look really sleek and badass, today I started on the base sculpt and got a little bit carried away with the armor
Started detailing the tentacles and the teeth, I created an insert mesh for the teeth which I still need readjust its position because it looks to perfect at the moment, I managed to finish the far left tentacle
really focused on the spikes today which took a while, I tried creating a insert brush but I felt like it was taking to long to figure out a way to make it look more organic compared to lines of spikes which look really planted out so I went with the long way of duplicating and creating each spike I think the results came out pretty well

I decided that I want to go in a more high poly sculpt direction because zbrush sculpting is pretty fun and sculpting details and creating cool ideas is what I feel like I want to do, so with that in mind I started coming up with ideas for my 4th model which will be a creature again but pushing the spiky motif, I found this image of this weird fish I think its an artist interpretation based on a prehistoric fossil which inspired the following head sketches, I was thinking about the way this monster would eat and instead of having hands and feeding itself it would be cool if it used spider like legs to damage its prey and then just feed with the mouth which is what inspired the silhouettes and I took the best elements and put them into the final concept, im going to add more large spikes to the back and to the hip areas and make the mouth tentacle s bigger as they are the focal point of this creature.

Finally put the wings in an im pretty happy with the results, it has a familiar look but also looks menacing and different, I’ve still got to curve the wings out with the move brush which I will do tomorrow
today I carried on detailing the main body, I added more definition to the arms/wing area and I also add more muscle and definition inside the torso and added more details inside the mouth.
So I finalised my design and made a few adjustments and started the base sculpt today I really like the look of this creature, even thought it doesnt look as alien as I wanted to I had to finalise the design quickly so I could start sculpting

Here are some concept sketches I put together, they're made up from the sketches I made previous and from inspiration from the reference sheet, Im really liking the 3rd one because of the wing design which was inspired by a dinosaurs ribcage that can be seen on my reference sheet and the shape of the head feels more realistic, even though I am still going for a bit stylised and a bit realistic I think the 3rd one is pretty good, Im still going to continue revising this creature
So I chose the silhouette at the bottom left liked it dragon like body, I then started sketching some head and wing designs because I wanted this creature to look visually familiar but also alien and interesting at the same time
For my third model I wanted to create a creature but still going with the sci fi theme I wanted it to be like an alien beast and on its plant it would be at the top of the food chain so it could hunt in the skies land and water, here are a couple of silhouettes, below is my reference sheet that I gathered what inspired these silhouettes

Finally textured my character I think it came out pretty well, even though I was aiming for 15k polys I went way over to 20k but still its alot better than my previous model which had 50k, hope you like it you can check it out in vr, there should be an icon at the bottom right !
for the last couple of weeks ive been uving, retopologizing and baking this model which I’ve finally done, there were so many bugs and glitches along the way but I finally managed to get past them and now onto texturing !!!!

So after a week of retopology and some uving I finally have the character down to 21000, im still going to try to get as low as possible, it might be a bit of a stretch but I want to try and get it down to 15k, oh I also have a crap ton of uving to do
