Techno and Phil definitely has the vibe from popular AC ships of an Assassin and their info guy (Altair x Malik, Ezio x Leonardo, Desmond x Shaun/Clay) - which I lovingly refer to as an Assassin and their Bureau. What’s more romantic in a world full of death and deceit than returning to check in on someone in a place you know is safe, secure, and trustworthy?

Phil can be the bureau. He can be the safe haven for assassin Techno. He can save Techno from the Templars and lead him to an Assassin’s hideout. He can’t be an exact Lucy stand-in because -spoilers- Lucy is a Templar triple agent instead of an undercover Assassin double agent and is actually betraying everyone. And she’s killed pretty anticlimactically. So we don’t want that. He won’t be a Shaun stand-in because I don’t remember Shaun or Rebecca doing anything Assassin worthy. Clay’s story makes me cry. Let me download my dying boyfriend into my head, dammit game 

Phil can be the undercover agent that’s actually on Techno’s side all along, he can be the one to lead Techno to the physical bureau they’ll be safely working out of, and Phil can also be something of a mentor. The animus gives Techno a lot of theory and knowledge; this is how Assassins operate, this is how the Leap of Fate is performed, this is how to hide bodies, etc. but all of this knowledge is from hundreds of years in the past. What Techno needs is someone who can bridge the gap and tell him how Assassins operate in the present day. It’d be really fun if Techno and Phil run their first mission or two together. It would probably involve getting Abstergo off their tail. After that there’s plenty of wiggle room for Phil to hold down the hideout while Techno runs missions or jumps in the Animus.

See my thought when I posted was somewhere along the lines of descendant that looks very much like his ancestors similar to Techno. Kind of like reincarnation but only in looks (of course full reincarnation is cool too)

Modern day Techno is kidnapped and strapped into the Animus to access the memories of his ancestors: one of the emperors of the Antarctic Empire, and a anarchist leader of The Syndicate.

Hello lovely anon! I'm still here (sorta) and I'm perfectly fine. Thank you for checking up on me :D

I've been silent for a couple weeks. Not to get into too much detail but my job picked up suddenly and I'm going back to school for the fall. Also my inspiration dried up a lil bit.

Techno’s been in Minecraft Mondays for just over 2 months at this point, and each and every teammate he’s had (politely speaking) sucks. He can tell the admins are trying to stop him from winning to no avail. He’s just too good. 

So knowing this, he doesn’t have very high expectations. Who even is this new guy? Phil-Z-A? Phil-Za? Eh, whoever he is, all Techno can hope for is him not throwing the game too hard. 

Except he’s not. He’s actually good. 

Not only that, they vibe surprisingly well.  It’s too much. Techno has never clicked with someone the same say he has with Philza. They laugh and joke and fight together, and it all goes so well. There’s no missteps, no dead jokes, no awkwardness filling the air when they share a quiet moment. 

During a slow part between games, it comes up. Philza insists he call him Phil. He also makes them trade contact info so they can play together again. They’re friends. 

Afterwards, Techno stands on the winner’s stage with Phil accepting their medal and looks over. His breath is stolen away. Because there stands Phil, the most genuine and quickest friend he’s ever made. The server’s setting sun shines in his hair. His smile is stretched across his face as he holds up the gold medal. He glances over at Techno with those eyes blue like the ocean. When he catches his eyes, he didn’t think it could, but Phil’s smile grows even brighter. 

Now, Phil is out for blood.

The attackers won’t escape. Even if they try to hide, Phil knows exactly how to draw them out. You know what they say...

It gets caught in foliage, nearly sheared off in battle, singed in the Nether

But Techno never thinks of cutting it off

Phil wouldn’t dare suggest it either

He sees how much work and stress it causes Techno

But he also knows how much Techno loves his hair, how much pride he has in it, how much he loves how it looks

Phil has to drag Techno out of the pet aisle

And the book aisle

Phil adds things to the cart that the other Syndicate members and the occasional visitor will enjoy

Phil adds random things he thinks looks cool or interesting to the cart

Techno knows the increasingly full state of their storage but doesn’t say anything

They both watch to see if anything catches the attention of the other one and makes a note to go back and buy it secretly for them

If they get in a cart race, Phil is the rider and Techno is the launcher

Phil is a lonely man living in his small cottage in the woods. Each day he goes out hunting and returns to his empty cottage.

One day he returns to his cottage... and it’s clean. Not only that, the little garden outside looks taken care of and expanded. There’s a hot meal waiting for him at the table. It’s almost like he has a wife... expect he doesn’t. Strange. Anyway, Phil enjoys his meal and goes out the next day as usual. He returns home and it’s happened again. 

This cycle goes on a few days until Phil hatches a plan to leave, but hide in the woods and watch his house. What Phil sees next confuses him. A pig wanders out of the underbrush and right into his cottage, nosing open the unlocked door (Don’t judge him, he’s alone in these woods. He doesn’t even own anything valuable.) He follows it in, wanting to shoo it out before it makes a mess. Except, he enters and sees a stranger, tidying up his kitchen. The only other difference is the pig skin hanging on the coat rack. The man introduces himself as Phil’s husband. Phil... is okay with this. The man is handsome and works hard. He doesn’t mind cleaning or working in the garden while Phil goes out hunting. In fact, now that they’ve met his new husband stays for dinner. He still wanders off some nights, taking his pig skin from the coat rack with him, but he’s always returned by the time Phil returns the next evening.
