Childhood Friend Complex Season 2 Ending *SPOILER-ISH*
For as ridiculously silly and cute as this series is, good LORD, I would have never expected this turn if that's what I think it is. Mandatory service for the military in South Korea is AT LEAST a year and six months?! Man, poor Haneul and Mincheol, smh.

"That’s what makes Zohran Mamdani’s election in New York so unsettling to the old order. New York City is not just another municipality; it’s a sovereign-scale entity. Its population surpasses 38 states. Its metropolitan GDP trails only Texas and California.
It is, by any metric, a small country masquerading as a city.
It governs more lives and more wealth than most nations. If democratic socialism — housing reform, public banking, equitable taxation — functions here, it obliterates the myth that such governance can’t work at scale. The fear isn’t ideological. It’s empirical. Because if Mamdani can keep the lights on, reduce homelessness, and maintain economic growth without catering to Wall Street, then the capitalist gospel collapses under its own dead weight.
What terrifies the establishment isn’t failure. It’s feasibility.
If it works in New York, there’s no reason it can’t work in Nebraska. If it works in Queens, it can work in Kansas City. And once proof exists, belief becomes irrelevant. The ship of democracy, fully refitted, will keep sailing — and no one can claim it isn’t American."
I know in a world where Game of Thrones followed/coincided, it's crazy to say, but Hell on Wheels, which we're binging on television now, definitely was way heavy-handed on the character deaths...

*Me, a long-time Skip Beat! fan, reading commenters complain about a manga/manwha that has a relationship groundwork established and is building toward an actual climax "taking too long" at 75 chapters*
I've had a NUMBER of original series I have worked at. I generally default to my fanfictions, but I love my fantasy stuff. I've had some characters around for 24 years now.
And one of my favorite things was world-building and conceptualizing stuff with my bestie. Like, that bouncing ideas off someone else is great and then just going into these spiels about this absolute heinous thing you considered? Decades of it.
So, when Kentaro Miura died in the middle of Berserk, there was a memorial comic his best friend did and I did tear up a bit. And, while there are tons of reasons I didn't want the series to end, the fact that Kentaro Miura and Kouji Mori spent decades doing that very thing was so warming. I know for many, it ended with Miura's death...in a very harmonious spot, but thinking that they talked about the story so much that Mori was like, 'don't worry, bro, I got this' feels special.
Now, all that said, recently, apparently Mori said the next arc is 'MUCH DARKER' than the Eclipse Arc and I--
Like...Like, right now, we...we going darker than one of the darkest arcs in manga/anime history? We...okay.

In 2011, when I was a a fairly popular (for my fandom) fanfiction writer, I wrote a...polarizing entry into my series. Like my topic for today, I thought to myself, let me try a little 'social experiment'.
I wrote a young woman who had the option of three potential beaus. Unfortunately, pretty much fifteen years later, I recognize I didn't balance the bias well at all. There was one character that was clearly my favorite. I didn't personally view him as flawless, I thought I did pretty well with him being a regular person, but I did have complaints that he was too perfect whilst having others excited about that.
You try as a writer to ignore the criticism. I often express that 'hey, this is how I thought of it, it may just not be FOR you', but, in all honesty, I remember thinking "why?". Why don't you like this guy? I like him, I'm writing him as likable. What makes him NOT likable?
Either way? I set up for the "unthinkable": I was going to put the chosen beau in my reader's hands. That's right: I wrote three separate endings based on the three dudes. I did it REGARDLESS of who won in the vote. The only "winning" aspect was the victor was canon. I thought it was going to be fine...it was but, definitely saw interests shift? I had to write a couple author's notes to be like hey...be cool.
I, as the author, did not get it. As a reader? I still did not get it. If I'm reading a romance and my bias wasn't being observed, I just simply left. Done. Wipe my hands of it. Toodles. I'm not coming for the author, that's THEIR story. I might criticize it on my own time, but, if that's how they saw the story going, while I didn't enjoy it, so be it. That's life.
Until...I read a certain webcomic. I've read it for pretty much a decade and a half now. I'm not naming names because I still respect the order of an author's autonomy. That is their story to tell and it's so fulfilling that the creator enjoys their creation. And, let it be known, you can absolutely create something you hate and it'll be a masterpiece. However, it shows when you love that piece.
That being said? I gotta give this one credit for giving me insight, as I now completely understand those readers from 2011: I absolutely despise the author's obvious bias. And I'm just venting off my main.
It is generally very simple for me to walk away from something veering into a direction I do not like. It's no longer serving me or I'm not enjoying it, that should be OBVIOUS to walk away. Hell, I think of when I was an avid watcher of Smallville when I was a teenager. It was a Thursday night ritual for my family and I to set aside time to watch it.
Then, as the seasons grew more and more odd and silly, we found ourselves drifting. Only my dad kind of held on and I've yet to have seen the ending to this day. I lost my invested time but...the story is Superman? We know what happens. I'm good.
Thus, I find myself with this particular instance invested in something that has been so developed and interesting, such a clear labor of love, and...now? I have so many questions. There's so many areas that this is so maladjusted. And, having SEEN the author recover majestically from what I was starting to perceive as slumps...this one seems so different, I don't know that they can? And I don't know that "letting them cook" doesn't yield something that might be tasty but, having been left to starve this long, isn't satisfying.
And that's the risk of investing in someone's work, of course. Does the pay off at the end leave you fulfilled? Or, will you be okay with what was of the meal when the dessert falls flat? Right now, it's giving more potential for "the meal has been delectable, but, what's for dessert?", "A good old fashioned hanging". Not even a dessert or a failed one, just a 'hey, I had you hooked with the meal and, now, you get to be executed'.
That's not even a proper example, because we're not at the end. You've had delicious meals and now the ingredients are mud and glue for the next few courses. I believe in letting the story build...but this ain't it. I don't even know, in the case we've stuck around through the mud pie made of actual mud, that a moist, rich brownie covered in the mos delectable fudge can save what we would have to digest to get there.
And, I want to walk away, but those first two courses were divine. I just don't...GET IT. I DON'T LIKE IT.
DBZ is one of those things I have a weird relationship with. I'm not a diehard fan by ANY means but, y'know, it's fun in places if I'm bored or what have you...
HOWEVER...in my social media Reels, as I didn't really watch the anime (manga first), they showed Vegeta's brother, Tarble. And in my infinite wisdom, I was like, so, what food is a 'Tarble'?? (FYI, if you don't know, most DBZ characters are named after food, if not undergarments).
Well, as I like to have answers to my questions, I Google it and he's the only thing to pop up, so, have to dally into the DBZ lore.
The line kept saying something like 'believed to be the romanization of the Japanese word for 'table'" or whatever. And I'm like 'wtf, why is furniture suddenly a name category?'. Having to reread the blurb several times, I gasped in literal shock and horror, closing the page promptly and vowing to never return which is why the lines are summations.
"Miss Murder" is a song by American rockband AFI, written by Davey Havok and produced by Jerry Finn. It was released on April 3, 2006, as the lead single from their seventh studio album Decemberunderground. The album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, selling 182,000 copies in its first week of being released.
"Miss Murder" is the band's most commercially successful single to date, reaching number 24 on the Billboard Hot 100 and topping the Alternative Songs chart. Internationally, the song was a moderate success, charting within the UK, Australia and Germany. It appeared in the video game Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. It won in the category Best Rock Song at the 2006 MTV Video Music Awards and was nominated for the Kerrang! Award for Best Single.
The music video, directed by Marc Webb, also features the introductory track of Decemberunderground, "Prelude 12/21".
"Miss Murder" received a total of 86,2% yes votes!
Look...I know well that writing needs suspension of sense, from time to time, to give a suspenseful story line.
HOWEVER? Upton is NOT A NEW CHARACTER and they have ridden this one plothole through the Earth’s crust and come out on the other side too many times. If she would LITERALLY just do a pretty standard protocol of telling SOMEONE where she is when working (HER AND KIM-- Women would NOT DO THIS, ESPECIALLY AFTER ALL THEY’VE GONE THROUGH PRIOR?), none of this would occur??
“Yea, going to meet Jay’s CI--I’ll be in South Lawndale. I’ll wear a tracker”.
Homey handled her business, I’ll give her that. Like, that was ALL her. But STILL, WRITERS, PLEASE--

Bruh...I will never be a big Hailey Upton fan but these writers gotta stop doing her like this, JEEZ. Like what, are they trying to traumatize her to oblivion?? Smh.
