Getting locked out of my house sucks. Like lynching!
THIS commercial is a perfect example of why Black Lives Matter is absolutely necessary. (Because this just aired TWICE during the Superbowl.) This song originated in the Civil Rights Era and is here being sung by Nina Simone. Only now, it's not about Civil Rights. It's about a white dork trapped in a wetsuit. And other people trapped in life's little pickles.
"I wish I could break all the chains holding me." Cut to: A rich dork trapped on a ski lift.
This is flaming puke. I know nothing is sacred in advertising but given the current climate this is so majorly tone-deaf and so painfully dorky that this dorky brand thought this dorky drivel would be not just a good idea, but their Superbowl campaign. From a company founded by an antisemite. To air in Black History Month.
