the problem is not jodie comer dating a racist and a homophobe because honestly white women do not surprise me at this point lol…the problem is that she has used her platform to talk about gay rights and blm, and PLAY A QUEER WOMAN ON TV, but then she doesn’t even apply this allyship in her actual life. it’s extremely hypocritical, and honestly gross. i have more respect for openly racist people. if you can literally love and date a bigot, you are a bigot by proxy. if you can’t understand this you’re probably white and detached from the reality of our world. “political views” aren’t just aesthetics that you could just use to capitalise on marginalised people, but then secretly contribute to their dehumanisation. it’s disingenuous. it’s evil. it’s not okay. and fans have the right to call her hypocrisy out. death threats aren’t okay, but holding public figures accountable for their actions is valid. this is based on the evidence on twitter that some people posted. if you don’t think her boyfriend is a trump supporter, honestly you’re just choosing to ignore facts at this point lol i will continue to support killing eve for sandra oh because she has worked so hard for this show and she deserves it but yeah jodie comer doesn’t mean much to me now. as a queer woman of colour i cannot have it in me to support her. i just can never. unless things change in the future, and she makes her political views VERY clear. EDIT: @ white people reading this I don’t give a fuck what you think. Stop trying to convince me that she’s not bigoted lol. I’ve seen receipts and I believe them because things add up. You can continue stanning your fave. I don’t care. I have the right to form my own opinion. And my opinion is that she is racist and bigoted by proxy (or perhaps directly) even if she thinks that she’s not. Bye.

Nobody is tolerating the death threats and everyone I have seen on the twitter fandom are urging people to stop, but it is a hundred percent okay for people to be upset and hurt by this. It is completely valid to hold celebrities accountable. Call out culture and cancel culture are two very different things.
