someone: why do you like Naegiri so much lol
what i want to say: Naegiri is a ship built on trust and compassion. Kirigiri is the first to offer Naegi words of comfort after Sayaka's death, and he holds onto those words and grows so much from them. He remembers this moment and puts all his faith into this girl; a girl who nobody trusts, a girl who has a thousand secrets, a girl who seldom smiles. There's nothing he could possibly gain from blindly trusting her as he does, but he does anyways... And Kirigiri, a detective who values stoicism and logic and unbiased opinions, lets this boy cloud her thoughts. She trusts him (albeit reluctantly), and even values him as a friend to the point where when he keeps a secret from her, she breaks her usually cool/calm/collected attitude with a newfound bitterness. Though it was only for a short while, the fact Kirigiri reacted so emotionally to something is so telling of the fact that Naegi was getting to her big time. In the trials, they are each others strength and dammit, in the 2nd last trial, as Kirigiri is spewing clEARLY FALSE CLAIMS, Naegi keeps quiet because he trusts her that much.(He never blames her for this, btw. What an angel baby). And Kirigiri, who knEW she was the only one who could get them out and uncover the mysteries of the school, she risks her life as well, by putting herself in a trashbag and hoping she finds a safe landing as she's dropped down that deadly trash chute. Even if she didn't die from the impact, there's the risk at not even finding Naegi alive. If he's alive, then there's the risk of Monobear just executing them both on sight. There are so many risks, but Kirigiri decides that this boy is worth it. They become each others hope -- their reason to live, their reason to die -- and that's so beautiful to me.

I also want to mention the scene where Kiri saves Naegi from Junko in the mask. Like in the game Naegi’s like “Kirigiri… What were you doing in my room last night?” And Kiri’s like “Huh…? I was just… Protecting you.” Those words hit mY HEART also no one else questions why Kiri was in Naegi’s room lmao. I think that part was before her execution tho if you chose the wrong choice
