BIOGRAPHY !
Model Océane Kinsinger was twenty two years old when she had her first child with her longtime partner Siti Lim. The two never married even though they were deeply in love. Everyone who met her said Océane was a beautiful and captivating. She gave birth to first child only three days after her own birthday. Kavita looked like her father and her mother was happy to have a healthy child. Unfortunately after two years of traveling with Kavita, Océane and Siti realized that it wasn't sustainable to travel with her. Kavita was sent to live with her aunt and uncle in Aurora Bay. Kavita spent her childhood at the beach and on Skype calls with her mom and dad, marking their location on the map she had on her wall. Her aunt and uncle were regular people—a private chef and a real estate agent, so despite the three of them living in her parent's Aurora Bay mansion, they felt like a regular family.
From a young age, Kavita grew up hearing people call her mother beautiful. Whenever she'd brag about what photoshoot her mom was doing, she'd always see the judgement on their faces. Kavita struggled to feel like she belonged to her family. Her aunt and uncle did what they could, but they didn't understand what it was like for Kavita. For the longest time, Kavita struggled to find something that was uniquely her own. Her mom had modeling, her father had photography, her aunt and uncle had their board games. But Kavi didn't care for any of it. She tried a few different options, yet nothing stuck. At eight, her mother suggested that she try dance and music. Kavi loved them both. While she loved ballet, she excelled in jazz, Bollywood, and hip-hop. With music, she instantly fell in love. From composition to writing lyrics, from drums to saxophone—there was nothing about music that Kavi didn't love.
When Kavita was ten, her aunt and uncle sat her down and told her that they were adopting a child her age. Kavita was happy to have someone her own age around, like a sister instead of a cousin. Two years after the adoption, Océane gave birth to her second child. This time she decided to take a break from her career. She and Siti moved back into their Aurora Bay house. By the time her younger brother was born, Kavita was in middle school and she didn't have anything in common with a toddler. She helped her parents, but mostly stuck to herself. It was odd having what was almost like two sets of parents around. With three children and four adults, there was always some sort of chaotic energy in the house. Kavita ignored it all, focusing her attention on school, dance, and music lesson. It was someone in her class that suggested she start posting videos on YouTube. Kavita was entirely thrilled by the idea and thus her channel was born.
She worked to make her channel the best she could make it with the support of her parents buying her best best cameras available at the time. It was a fun little side project where she mostly made videos singing, dancing, or on occasion talking about her life. Like a lot of kids out there trying to find their voices, Kavita didn't think her voice was anything special, though she still made her videos throughout high school. Most of the time her songs were covers of her favorite rock musicians, but senior year of high school, Kavita uploaded an acoustic song she wrote. What seemed like overnight, the song went viral. She'd known she wanted to be part of the music industry, but when she started getting calls from record producers that heard the acoustic song, she knew it was a big deal. Obviously she had the support of her family behind her. They let her choose the company she wanted to work for and let her be in charge of her own career with helpful advice.
The record label that Kavi signed with didn't tell her something. They hadn't been looking for an artist who wanted to write rock music, but they were looking for their next big pop artist. Kavita wanted to back out then, however she knew that they might blackball her from the industry and she didn't have any other way in, so she smiled and held her tongue. Kavita loved music, but her taste was different than the styles they were throwing at her. The label let her write her own music though and that was nice. She went from being Océane Kinsinger's daughter to a sensational new artist.
Kavita still pushed her own image though. She was always getting into trouble, finding some way to have fun. She was a mess for the PR team and yet she didn't care. Fame had never been her goal, playing music was and if she couldn't play the types of music she was interested in, then she would be like her idols pushing. Thankfully, Kavita was effortlessly cool. Journalist could rely on Kavita to always have some sort of quip during an interview. She was funny, unpredictable, and wild—but that was the best part about her reputation. Kavita was everything that her rock idols were and she loved it. But after five albums, Kavita felt like she was slowly crumbling away. Pop was never the type of music she wanted to make and she was exhausted with the record label pressuring her to not come out as nonbinary—because they didn't want her to damage her image—when she finally decided to step away as a solo artist. She promised her fans she'd be back at some point.
Kavi didn't immediately return to Aurora Bay after the announcement about her hiatus. They came out on social media and disappeared for a few months. When Kavi resurfaced in Los Angeles, they announced they were moving back to Aurora Bay and would be writing songs and drumming for a new grunge rock band, Empty Operation. Her mother was happy to have her home. Yet when Kavi returned, they bought their own place. Aurora Bay hadn't changed much since they'd left, but honestly Kavi kind of loved that about the place. Music made Kavi who they were and though she went on hiatus on her own terms, Kavita didn't have to remain away form the stage. In fact, the call to the stage was stronger than ever, this time with music she created and the sound she wanted. Kavita does not know where the future will take them, but she's ready to let the waves carry them wherever it plans on going.

"One hundred percent in agreement with you. Even if that means I'm likely signing up for someone, or you, scaring the living daylights out of me one day." Maya had her own issues with her family, baggage that could fill one of those airport conveyer belt things. "That seems like quite the dynamic," Words dripping with sarcasm. Hands worked as the words registered and the smile on Maya's face reappeared, "Perfect. A flower crown for Kavi. Preference on color or anything like that?"
"Scaring people is a lot of fun, even if its yourself." Kavi was totally one of those people that didn't like to do the same thing every day. She might be somewhat of a creature of habit with her likes and dislikes, but she also loved to be spontaneous too. And besides, she wanted a flower crown. Maya totally looked adorable with her. "What can I say, having a famous mother does have drawbacks." Her mom was a lot and Kavi had always understood their relationship even if that had taken a long time to understand. "Hmm. No, I think a surprise is in order!"
⸻ ❛ You see, things like that happen more than people admit. ❜ Freyja nodded in understanding and softening as listens to their words. Her parents never really meddle with her career, because she does not get along very well with her parents anyway, and they're for no speak terms for a few years now. ❛ Opss! ❜ When Kavi spoke about bad good 'advice' turned into bad 'advice'. ❛ Listen, creativity does not work that way. Artist envolve, people evolve and you should totally try to experiment with new things, because if you don't then you'll ended back in the same cycle and feeling trapped inside. ❜ She sighs.
❛ And I think, if you get together with the band, things will look healthy. Like, maybe someone there says something and unlocks a key on your brain, and then your words unlock a key of creativity in your other musicians and so on.. In the end, everybody will help each other. Creativity likes collaborations more than people admit. And it is a reminder that music isn't all about solitary confinement. ❜
Kavi was a dramatic person, she had to be considering her mother was also a fairly dramatic woman. She knows that she probably needs to get the band together to talk about what they want their songs to be about. Kavi doesn't want to waste anyone's time though, so she's been avoiding that. "Maybe I've been lucky. There's always something in my life worthy of writing about. Probably because I've been doing absolutely nothing these past couple of years. And there's no actual deadlines. Those help me a lot too. We don't have studio time booked either." Which they probably should get on that.
"I hate having deadlines. I hate not having deadlines. It's a lose lose situation either way. And like I don't think we've even got performances scheduled or anything."

"Doing it so well too," Maya added with a playful roll of the eyes. "Got-cha. That lines up then. You've found your excuse for my drilling ways." She was just happy to see them all the same. Felt like each day now was filled with someone she knew and she could talk to. Kavi just brought a little extra excitement compared to some. "Oh! Agreed. You want one? I can make you on. Or bring you one."
"Why not constantly be a surprise? Keeping people on their toes." Sometimes Kavi didn't want to do what people expected of them. Most of the time they went against the grain on purpose. "She's so annoying sometimes. Brought me just to dump me the second a fan wanted something." Not that Kavi got away from that herself. "Oh, I have no idea how to make one, but I'd love if you made me one."
lucy shrugs in agreement, the woman did have a fair point. "oh wow!" she'd never met anyone before that had a legitimate musical career, she couldn't imagine the stress that would put one under. "did you enjoy it? your solo career?" she'd heard a lot of stories about how it burnt out a lot of people, she hopes that not the case for the other woman.
Sometimes they forget that not a lot of people knew famous people. She was used to knowing a ton of people that were famous all her life, but that was because of her mother. "I loved it... most of the time." And Kavi did love it. "But I've also changed as a person from who I was when I was a teenager." She figured most people had. "It was less of a... traditional burn out and more of wanting to be a different person. If that makes any sense. My mother said I sounded confusing when I told her why I was quitting."
⸻ ❛ See, that's terrifying to me! ❜ She teases lightly, laughing softly and shaking her head. ❛ And maybe, that's your superpower, working under stress… I can work with it sometimes, but not always. ❜ She sighs. ❛ Perhaps, this project sounds a lot heavier because you care about it lasting and not just surviving the headline, y'know?! ❜ She ponders. As the mention of the band… ❛ That sounds clever, who knows, someone says something that unlocks a creativity door in your mind, you never know… How this is going to end.. ❜ She looks at Kavi with a playful grin. ❛ Aaand if anything fails, which it won't, you can lock yourself in a studio, with snacks, questionable energy drinks and existential dreads. That's how half of the best albums are made anyway. ❜
Kavi loved working under pressure. It was her favorite type of pressure to work under. Still she knew that she wasn't like most people. "I get that. I don't think I'm super normal for working like that." She nodded at Freyja. "I think it's something like that. I got famous for well... I don't want to blame my mother, but I think she was part of it. My record label never let me experiment." Kavi wondered what it would have been like if she'd been braver and stood up for herself. "That's... smart. Great advice. I should take good advice instead of bad advice I hear from other people. "Okay, well that turned into bad advice at the end. However, I think getting together with the band for a few days might help get our creative juices flowing." Though Kavi was technically supposed to write the songs for them.
💌 LOVE LETTER - do they like love letters? what kind of messages do they leave for their partner?
"I've never gotten a love letter before. Unless you count the ones that boys used to pass me to give to my mom in middle school. I'm not really a love letter kind of person. My partners used to get texts mostly."

"You're telling me. They got decorations for shit that no where else would care about. Someones gotta look into those town funds, I bet those numbers are questionable as fuck."
There's no other explanation to him for why there would be an annual flower festival.
It simply had to be some sort of money laundering.
He folds his arms across his chest, nodding along. Alone on Valentine's Day was usually something he would consider a little tragic but this one seemed to be suited just fine by it.
It wasn't that Kavi hated the holiday. In fact, celebrating love was a good thing, but people weren't celebrating love. They were celebrating money. It was such an annoying holiday. "I'm sure they are, but what are you gonna do about it?" Kavi laughed.
They didn't really know where the money came from for all the activities, but there were a lot of rich people in town. Herself included. So someone had to be donating the money. Or that's what she chose to believe.
"All over the world. Hard to date when traveling the world on tour and everything. If I wasn't on tour, I was recording."
"that sounds like a pain." being constantly chased by the media, lucy was certain she'd never want to be famous in her lifetime. even if she did become a writer, she'd like to stay out of the limelight. "that makes sense, with the whole news thing. what kind of music?"
"It's probably not as painful as some people's problems, so I can't complain too much." She could, but there wasn't a point. "Pop music. I had a solo career for a while, but now I'm doing a project with some friends of mine."
"-Of all the sorts of people I thought I'd find her, you were not amongst the numbers in my head there Kavi." Maybe that was just due to the dour situation that had brought them together before. Well, not dour specifically for them. Just the location and the baggage that came with it. Even so, Maya could just not imagine the other woman wanting to covered in all things Pixie. Her? She loved it. So much so that there were two flower crowns upon her head and fresh glitter all over her. "Unless this is just a 'I'm passing through' sort of vibe and while I'd respect it, it'd break my heart."
It wasn't really Kavi's thing, but they thought they might as well try something new. Maybe it would give her an idea of something to write about. "I live to surprise." They laughed. "Mom's around here somewhere, no doubt soaking up the attention as per usual." Sometimes Kavi did things with her mom just to do things with her mom. "I think I'd look cute with a flower crown."
⸻ She could relate to that to some extent; she never had a break for herself, and she always repeated the advice people gave to her, which she wishes she could follow. Freyja only learned how to relax a little after having her son, and learned that it was ok have a break for herself, and not feel guilty about that. ❛ I've been in your skin, and I think the best thing I could say to you is simply trust in your guts, even if you're stressed. ❜ Who would ever guess she has degrees… She looked at them. ❛ First things first, you need to relax. And breath, you can do it, getting even more stressed it will block your brain, especially if you have a headline to deliver. ❜
Kavita knew that they weren't the only musician that had the same issues. She'd always been a bit of a perfectionist when it came to her music and she didn't really think that was a problem... most of the time. 'That's my problem, every time I do that I get into a horrible situation, so I'd rather like... not do that. I want to take my time with this." And maybe that was the problem. They could take their time, they could afford to take their time. "I work best when I'm stressed," Kavi laughed. "I guess I'll just... I don't know get input from the rest of the band as to what they want to see."
"Same. I have so many notes on my Notes app its not even funny." Nari laughed softly. "I got signed when I was young so I was the real breadwinner of the family for a while there. After my reality tv flop I feel like that's Kiho now. I mean, money wasn't the only reason my parents supported me, they're great. It was just incentive for such an insane gift, like a studio."
"It's ridiculous. And some of my ideas are so cryptic to me. Do I know what I'm supposed to do with the note that just says jelly dounut? No. Was that supposed to be a grocery list? Was I drunk and hungry when I wrote that? No idea. It's in my song ideas folder though." Sometimes Kavi didn't know how to feel about her old career. There was so much they didn't get to do. And they'd quit. On their own. This was uncharted territory now. "I stopped asking my mom for stuff when she refused to give me the pony I asked for when I was eight. She said I wouldn't take care of it. She was probably right." Kavi could probably build her own studio now, but she didn't think having a studio in her home would help her separate work and life. "Okay, where should we start?"

Maya's eyebrows shot up and she couldn't help but laugh at that one. "Oh? Closet salespeople would surely love to see a couple like us, but otherwise? Uh-oh. What's yours from? Mine is all cosplay stuff. Like yes okay, tons of my own clothes, but it's manageable-ish. With the costumes and so on? Exploding." She had reversed the order of her responses, but gave a shrug to follow up the closet stuff, "Speculation is all they got, then that's it. Though you never know what might go from guessing to knowing. Even if they never thought it possible."
Maya's brow shifted from both to one. "Match your crazy. Hey, more power to you from that. Two of me together? Might be too much." There's a shake of her head to follow, a shrug of the shoulders, a breath almost like a sigh, "The town itself, I can admit, is filled with hotties. Gorgeous, stunning, ethereal people, Present company included, of course, but no big connections. Yet. And you?"
"I think the sheer amount of leather in my closet might scare them away. They're gonna think I'm into something completely different." And not that Kavi cared what people thought. Maybe the salesperson would know who they were though. "The like twelve years of my life that I was a pop star." As much of a pop star as they could be. "A cosplay closet sounds much cooler though." Kavi would have loved getting to dress up as characters instead of as a performer on stage. "I'm in the same boat. Too many costumes, not a lot for myself."
Kavi needed someone that would ground her, but wasn't afraid of her creativity that sometimes meant going on a random road trip or had her up at 3 in the morning. "Oh, I'm in the same boat. Sort of. Dating feels like a bit of a nightmare for me. Lots of different reasons that make me feel like an outsider. Also I have a lot of internet haters, so there's that too."
"its starting to get enjoyable, but it's not the purpose of going out for me." lucy shrugs, "i rather be sober enough to be able to enjoy myself and everything else going on around me." really, alcohol was there for the taste. "oh, i haven't been immune to that..." her shoulders sink a little, before straightening up again. "what did you do?"
"Whenever I go out, there's usually like a whole page spread about me on page six." As if they weren't an absolutely normal person that wanted a break around the media. "Oh, no one's immune to that. I meant specifically from drinking." Although they did more stupid things sober than they ever did from drinking. "I'm a musician."
