âYea, well, I donât really care what he thinks anymore.â Which was strange for the crown. Heâs spent the majority of his life wanting to rule just like him and Matthias had definitely seen the error to that way of thinking. âOur country is important, Kat, but so id making time for family. Probably not the last birthday I will miss but Iâm aiming for it to be one of the few.â Smiling, he was glad that she seemed to like the gift. âLooks good. Maybe Iâm better at this present thing than I thought.â Giving her a teasing grin, he laid back on his hands as she spoke, nodding. âTropical sounds amazing right about now. Iâm hoping that weâre not so used to the cold weather that weâll burn up in normal settings though.âÂ
âIs that... Matthias, rebelling?â Kat said, placing a melodramatic hand on her heart for a brief moment before letting out a laugh. As though he hadnât done more than enough rebelling for one lifetime by proposing to Maggie- thereby, hopefully, taking all the parental heat off Kat forever, or for at least a little while. âI know soon youâre going to be busy and important and running our country. So itâs really okay if you miss more birthdays. Iâve definitely missed some of yours, so...â she shrugged. âUgh, I hadnât even thought of that. I sunburn so easily as it,â she replied, grimacing. âMaybe somewhere more moderate,â she mused. âWe can choose later, god only knows when weâre going to be able to leave here, anyway.âÂ
