Khal Drogo scenes (3/?)
What are you going to do with this blog? Do you still ship the same things?
This blog is staying up like an archive. I don’t want to lose any of it, you know?
And, yeah, I ship the same things. All the characters and ships that were frequently on this blog will still be on @katherinesgeckos.
In fact, one of my reasons for the change is that this blog has ‘Liked’ over 10k things…because I use the like feature as something of a ‘bookmark’/’reblog later’ feature (I’m a bit lazy, LOL). I’d like to try to go through the ‘likes’ on this blog and reblog them to my new blog, as well as keep a handle on the ‘likes’ page on my new blog.
So, in short, a lot of the things I have shipped and loved here, will be posted there, by virtue of the fact that I never actually got around to posting them here.
To: All My Followers
For about two months now, I’ve been in the process of changing blogs. You see, I started this one nearly five years ago...when I was just starting college. I’ve grown and changed as a person since starting this blog, and I want to have something like a fresh start.
That isn’t to say my interests have changed. The content on my new blog will pretty much be the same as the content on this blog, but with a few changes.
Most notably, I feel more comfortable stating my opinions now than I did when I first started this blog, and that will be reflected in my new blog.
So, if you are reading this and want to continue seeing my posts on your dashboard, go over to @katherinesgeckos.

I fucking knew this was about On the Road three screen caps in
What bothers me about this scene is that these girls said the exact same things.
“It’s not writing, it’s typing” is the same as “I hated this book.” “The structure is not strong” is the same as “I had no idea what it’s about.” One girl said Keruoac was on drugs while the other could name the drug. One girl said it read like it was written in a hurry, the other knew it had been written in 3 weeks. “His experiments in prose style are tedious” is the SAME THING as saying “boring and unorganized”
And I saw this sort of thing a lot in school. As an English major, if I’d said “I hated this book” I would have been lambasted or dismissed by the prof. But if I said “I wasn’t moved by it, I found it tedious” it would have been an insightful remark.
I’m so sick of this academic elitism.
But I sort of thought that’s why the second girl said what she said? Like she used more academic language, you’re right, but she’s completely echoing Kim’s statement. By prefacing it with, “I think Kim’s right,” she draws the attention back to the fact that Kim said it first, the paraphrases, then builds on what Kim said giving more information to support Kim’s claim. Like Girl 2 knows what’s up with the teacher’s bullshit and she’s not about to let it go down. I think the point of this scene is to condemn academic elitism, not to support it. Especially with the look between them at the end.
During the first half of this, all I could think about was how exactly this echoed my experience reading “On The Road”. And then I laughed when it was the exact book they were talking about.
Becoming yourself is really hard and confusing, and it’s a process. I was completely the eager beaver in school, I was the girl in the front of the class who was the first person to put her hand up, and it’s often not cool to be the person that puts themself out there, and I’ve often gotten teased mercilessly, but I found that ultimately if you truly pour your heart into what you believe in — even if it makes you vulnerable — amazing things can and will happen.

“Congratulations - you just made a conversation about salad and hamburgers about the struggle of childbirth.”
TBH Parentfriends, I’m probably tired of looking at pictures of your kid every other day, so I just hid you from my Newsfeed, because what’s important to you isn’t all that important to me. Sorry, not sorry, no one’s feelings got hurt.
But if you start mommyjacking my posts, I will 100% make you cry into your keyboard.
#how unsatisfied are these people with parenthood that they have to validate themselves like this
Nothing more annoying that insufferable parents shoving their children down your throat. The parent equivalent of mansplaining.
If anything this just killed the slim chance of me wanting children
Irritating how the first few posts are of hard working women venting about their stress and some momzilla comes in and tells them that only being a mom is hard and validating and tries to downsize how important these women’s jobs are..like..not everyone wants a kid. And that’s ok. These woman are going to school, working hard, and making a difference. A woman doesn’t NEED to have a child to feel complete and whole..that’s not the only purpose a woman has in life..
Especially irritating in the third one because if that mom responding to the girl was really treating stab wounds to the face or trachea/lungs in the context of being a mother...maybe she isn't doing the mothering thing correctly??
@ishenwulf, @candyumbrella, I’m sure this is already on your radar, but I saw this and thought of the two of you.

After everything that has happened, she is his light, his reason for being.
Who is the girl playing Astoria? I think I recognize her but I don’t know her name.
@belligerentblonde, Just saw your comment, if no one has responded to your question, I chose Nina Dobrev to play Astoria for this edit. Mainly because her roles in The Vampire Diaries placed her in both period and formal clothes, which went with my HP-Universe Aesthetic.
I changed my Grindr profile pic to a selfie I took with my brother’s bearded dragon and it led to possibly the best conversation I’ve ever had on Grindr
