I'm not even surprised that Shen Yuan turned out to be the CEO running the Shen family's business while one of his elder brothers fucks off to explore Antarctica, and the other wanders around in the mountains in search of some ancient tea tree (which is giving major Shen Jiu vibe but I digress). Look, as a 20-something years old CEO, Shen Yuan would 1000% see running a successful business as sitting around doing idle work while waiting to die. We were fooled by SY stating that his older brothers are set to inherit the family's business, thinking it meant they'd inherit the business from Shen papa and mama. In actuality, they would be inheriting the business from Shen Yuan himself. He is totally planning to eventually hand off the business to his older brothers in order to retire and mooch off his family's money like the idle fuerdai he aspires to be. Nobody saw this coming, and we all know he's been lying to our face from day one. Remember how he said he was gonna hug thighs and kiss ass to save his own hide, only to immediately contemplate blowing himself up to save supposedly fictional characters? Remember how he said he was idling away to a ripe old age on Qing Jing, while his daily activities look like this : "Every day on Qing Jing Peak, he played the guqin, read books, wrote calligraphy, painted paintings, practiced his cultivation, occasionally nitpicked Luo Binghe’s food, occasionally bickered or sparred with Liu Qingge, and from time to time reported on his work to Yue Qingyuan". And we know he teaches his students and goes on missions too. He reads through the entirety of Qing Jing's library (which must be extensive, considering QJ is the scholar peak) in roughly 3-5 years on top of his other duties. This bish is the most productive lazy person ever and I'm honestly just mad at myself for not expecting this level of deception from the Peerless Cucumber.
