BECAUSE YOU VEX ME : an INDEPENDENT and SELECTIVE portrayal of KATHANI SHARMA from netflixās adaptation of BRIDGERTON. primarily show and headcanon based. as penned by ruba ( she/her, 30, est ). this account will be low activity and highly selective. please see rules below cut.
¹. all information on this blog will be based on the netflix series, i have not yet read the books and may not get the time to, so show based it is! i will write kate across all seasons but primarily based in season three and onwards as viscountess bridgerton.
². when i say activity on this blog will be slow i genuinely mean it. due to life the activity here will be wildly sporadic. i don't expect quick responses from my writing partners and so i hope for the same considerations. feel free to ask for my discord for brain rotting but that may be just as slow as writing is sometimes. tl;dr is my speed =/= my interest in our plots!!
³. due to the above rule and how often i can be here this blog is mutuals only and will be highly selective. i will softblock if i don't expect to follow back, personal blogs will be blocked. mutuals may approach at anytime (and please do!)
ā“. no ns/fw content will be present on this blog and i will not follow blogs with heavy mat/ure content. however, triggering content may be present on this blog and i will do my best to tag. that being said, minors will not be followed on this blog either due to personal comfort.
āµ. formatting on this blog will be minimal. some spacing, some bolding, italics, etc small sized font and no special text asides from blog aesthetics. please let me know if any formatting needs to be adjusted, happy to accomodate.
ā¶. i love a good ship but shipping is definitely not my priority. while i love kanthony with my whole heart, i will not force auto-shipping on my partners. an actual ship will require some plotting and form of ooc friendship/understanding!!
ā·. typical rp and human etiquette applies. this blog is staunchly anti-zio/nist and pro palestine so i will not be interacting with any media related to zio/nist creators and authors. this includes media from tlou, str/anger th/ings, aco/tar and four/th wi/ng to name a few. psds used by voidgasm.

SHARMA HAVELI : kathani builds a new living space for the sharmas even before she returns to india. after marrying, her mother had never been as well off as she could have been had she married a man from the ton and their family made do with whatever they had. however, after kate took on the role of viscountess she did everything she could to give her mother the grand living space she had always dreamed of. the place not only houses mary, edwina and kate but all their extended family in india as well and doors are constantly open to all their relatives.
one flies too close to the sun, and ā¦. @shekofeh
in the solace of her dearest friend, kate ungracefully let herself slump into the nearest armchair with a loud huff. her head hung back over the seat of the chair and she looked at the upside image of the other. while lady shams stood as pristine as always, kate had uncharacteristically come undone. it was no easy feat planning a ball despite how lady danbury had made it seem. she had taken on the task for the start of the year's season and found herself overwhelmed with every small detail. any other viscountess would assign and delegate tasks to the staff of the house, but as always, kate had to ensure that everything was being done right. it grew tiring to chase after every worker in the house and at the same time maintain the composure she always had. so she appreciated shams company, the only time she could really let go and melt away without a dozen pairs of eyes watching her.
" go ahead, you may tease and taunt all you wish, i grant you permission. remind me how in over my head i am. " with a final deep breath, kate straightened back up as if her brief moment of sulking was all she could afford. she gestured a gloved hand to the plush chair across her, inviting the woman to join her. there was a week remaining until the ball and kate felt as though nothing had truly been accomplished. she gazed out the window at the gaggle of bridgerton siblings playing pall-mall in the distance and wished she had the luxury to join them. " but please, do tell me. " she turned to shams with an unspoken plea in her eyes. " do you really think i can pull this off ? for if i truly can't, i must stop before i get ahead of myself. "
the gears in her head were already turning and she looked off past shams, not truly looking at anything but lost in her thoughts. she spoke more to herself than her present company as she trailed on. " perhaps lady malhotra would be more well equip to host this year, though i do anticipate she will be irate if she only has seven nights to execute such an event. "

at times her life felt like a dream. bridgerton house had never meant to be hers and never had she considered it. when the pieces had fallen together in the way they did, it was as though she had stepped out of a haze into stark clarity. and in the center of that all was anthony bridgerton. her dark eyes watched him as he paced around the seat his youngest brother slouched in, hounding him for whatever he currently deemed unsatisfactory. she couldn't help the way the corners of her lips twitched upwards at the sight. in the eldest bridgerton she saw a reflection of herself and the thought made her heart pound against her chest. she almost missed the comment from her right and startled back to her senses.
warmth spread across her cheeks and she pressed her lips together to bite back her embarrassed laughter. " is it really that obvious ? " she took one more glance at her husband before turning in her attention to the duke of hastings. the two sat at a table with a delicate tea set put out before them, outsiders peering into a family they had just barely begun to infiltrate. she found kinship in simon's presence and it helped that he knew anthony so well. it was a shame she didn't see more of the duke, but kate did her best to make most of their time together.
her spoon clinked against the edge of her cup as she stirred her tea before taking a long sip. " it is only natural for one to love their husband so, but i can only imagine what a sight that must be to see as a long time friend. " she dropped her voice to a conspiratorial whisper and added in with a mischievous grin. " and is it fair to assume that such a close friend must have some harrowing stories about my husband ? i do believe you have been holding out on me in this regard, your grace. "
it could very well be that sophie, had not been thinking at all. of course, the vicountess was not mocking her. perhaps it had most to do with the second eldest bridgerton son and less to do with the whole house and it's excitement for the return of the viscount and vicountess, along with the latest edition. the whole house was alive, and buzzing still. and it became very clear, that sophie was well out of her depth in her understanding. well, anything at this point. she was most ashamed she had been out of turn with the vicountess.
" please, forgive me. I .. " she twisted at her fingers. anthony had been the one she aimed to avoid, given that it would seem he was .. rather perceptive than most, she does not blame him, eldest sibling and all. but he was not one she'd wish to face. it might have felt .. permanent. " what a silly conversation. I had only meant to point out that while at mr. bridgerton's cottage, I noticed he rekindled his passions for art. " and beneath her breath, had corrected another visiting lady who had mistook his passions for music. " I know you were not mocking me, lady bridgerton. you must have caught me between rooms. that is no excuse .." she so badly wishes to say what she feels , if only because kate might listen .. indulge her momentary spite, even.
kate was rather grateful for the hustle and bustle that was bridgerton house. while in india, she had grown accustomed to four walls practically bursting with cousins and aunts and relatives she could barely name and it made her worry about the quietude that london would offer in comparison. however, she was pleased to be proven incorrect in her assumptions. ever since her entrance through the ornate double doors, kate had been showered with love and questions. her daughter travelled from arm to arm, meeting all her aunts and uncles for the first time. it took hours for kate to finally have a chance to excuse herself so when her reprieve from the bridgerton family had been interrupted by the mutterings of a new maid, she couldn't help but comment.
a fond smile graced her features at the girl's apologetic explanation. with her daughter in one arm she used her free hand to wave her concerns aside. " come now, no need for that. i assure you, the last thing i'm worried about is a discussion that was never meant for my ears in the first place. " her laugh was warm as she settled down on the edge of a couch. she combed her fingers gently through her daughter's curls as she studied the other. " if i may ask, " she started slowly and cautiously as if worried she would scare the girl away. " i have been away for quite some time, so perhaps i have missed a lot. it sounds like you stayed at benedict's cottage ? "
she paused for a moment, carefully considering her words before fixing the maid with an inquisitive look. " this may be a little forthright, but how exactly did you happen to end up at his bachelor home ? "
FANTASYĀ Ā VERSEĀ Ā Ā Ā :Ā Ā Ā Ā in the world of the seelie court,Ā Ā they call themselves The Ton.Ā Ā Ā a place seemingly hidden from the world of mortals and yet in plain sight.Ā Ā Ā
the fae roam the winding paths of the enchanted world,Ā Ā in glittering gowns and fluttering wings.Ā Ā it is a place of merriment and wonder,Ā Ā and a place where any regular human will find themselves enchanted and immersed.Ā Ā so much so that they may never return to their regular world.Ā Ā that was the case for kate sharmaās mortal mother.Ā Ā a young girl with eyes brimming with awe who had followed the charming man of shadows and stories through the knotted branches and into a world much unlike her own.Ā Ā however,Ā Ā perhaps the young girl was not so lucky as she weaved her fingers through the faeās sharp grip for he led her not to the Ton but the unseelie court.Ā Ā Ā
the unseelie court,Ā Ā many steps away from the seelie court was a stark parallel of the Ton.Ā Ā Ā while the Ton was filled with mirth and glee,Ā Ā the unseelie court had a chill that sunk in straight to the bone.Ā Ā Ā to an untrained eye,Ā Ā it was still a world engrained with magic but the trained eye would be able to discern the dark from the light.Ā Ā this young woman was very much untrained.
and so she remained with the unseelie fae who claimed her heart and soon she walked with her hand placed gently over her rounded stomach,Ā Ā in anticipation for her bundle of joy.Ā Ā Ā however,Ā Ā the night of her delivery grew long and the winds howled in the trees around them.Ā Ā Ā word of a changeling travelled fast and whispers reached ears of the unseelie king.Ā Ā it was as the king and his court marched to the couple that sorrow struck the unseelie fae.Ā Ā Ā in his arms flailed a crying and darling little girl.Ā Ā her eyes as black as the night sky but her flesh as vulnerable as that of a mortal.Ā Ā while his heart beat with joy it also ached for the woman he had lost.Ā Ā kathani's mother had passed giving birth and the grief didnāt seem to end there.Ā Ā for the fae quickly found himself banished by the king.Ā Ā to the seelie court where they would never see him as an equal and where he was to live the rest of his days with his changeling daughter for breaking the laws of the unseelie lands. a fae was to never have a child with a mortal.
he went with a heart as black as coal but as soft as his daughterās fingers around his own.Ā Ā and the Ton despised him.Ā Ā they had heard of his story and called him the trickster whose love had killed a mortal woman.Ā Ā to not only bring a changeling to their world but to orphan her in the same breath,Ā Ā it was unthinkable.Ā Ā unthinkable to all but mary sharma.Ā Ā
a noble faeās daughter who had always had more curiosity than was good for her.Ā Ā she watched the unseelie fae from afar as he worked in their gardens with the girl strapped to his back.Ā Ā she helped him when the girl became too much of a handful and soothed her when she cried throughout the night.Ā Ā she learned quickly enough why the mortal woman had fallen for him for despite his reputation,Ā Ā there was more to the fae than the world had seen.Ā Ā he proved himself a gentle lover and a heart that seemed out of place in the side of the world he had been brought up in.Ā Ā mary saw a side of him that the Ton refused to see and for that,Ā they left.
they ran off to lands unlike either of their own.Ā Ā one where she would not be judged for seeing the fae behind the tale and where he would not be judged for not being as cruel as his upbringing had taught him to be. Ā Ā for years they lived in harmony in a place protected from all the courts that looked for them.Ā Ā they had a daughter and raised her along with his first,Ā Ā never once letting one girl feel beneath the other.Ā Ā Ā when the unseelie fae left one night and ceased to return,Ā Ā the pang in maryās heart told her all she needed to know.Ā Ā Ā her love was no more but her world continued to turn and her daughters continued to look up at her.Ā Ā so their lives moved forward and one day led them back to the seelie court.
the Ton had no qualms accepting back mary and her daughter edwina but they looked to the changeling with a sharp eye.Ā Ā she was different from the others,Ā Ā it was a fact immediately perceived.Ā Ā with no wings but pointed ears,Ā Ā with eyes darker than any other seelie faeās but a shine to them nonetheless.Ā Ā without magic but with the ability to coax the animals to her touch.Ā Ā kate sharma stood out in the Ton but that didnāt stop her from walking with her head high.Ā Ā
she made herself comfortable amongst the seelie nobility and accompanied her sister to all the balls of the land.Ā Ā Ā the last thing she had expected was to find herself falling in love with a fae of the spring court.Ā Ā their matrimony took the Ton by surprise,Ā Ā but as they joined so did the seasons and the courts alike.Ā Ā kate brought the unseelie fae into the Ton and her lover welcomed them as his own.Ā Ā Ā she now rules as a lady of the spring court but often finds herself wandering back to her fatherās winter court in unseelie territory to help mend the relations between the two worlds and attempt to change the way changelings like herself were treated.

PRIDE AND PREJUDICE (2005) PROMPTS
* Ā assorted dialogue from the film, adjust as necessary
you must know... surely, you must know it was all for you.
you are too generous to trifle with me.
if your feelings are still what they were last april, tell me so at once.
my affections and wishes have not changed, but one word from you will silence me forever.
you have bewitched me, body and soul, and i love... i love you.
i never wish to be parted from you from this day on.
i have struggled in vein and i can bear it no longer.
these past months have been a torment.
i came to [location name] with the single object of seeing you. i had to see you.
are you too proud, [name]? and would you consider pride a fault or a virtue?
we're doing our best to find a fault in you.
i have fought against my better judgement, my family's expectations, the inferiority of your birth by rank and circumstance.
you really do love him, don't you?
please, do be seated.
this is a charming house.
all these things i am willing to put aside and ask you to end my agony.
how are you this evening, my dear?
may i have the next dance, [name]?
my brother gave it to me. he shouldn't have.
i wish you would not call me "my dear."
what endearments am i allowed?
what should i call you when i am cross?
i cannot believe that anyone can deserve you... but it appears i am overruled.
are you out of your senses? i thought you hated the man.
have you no objection other than your belief in my indifference?
i do like him. i love him.
only the deepest love will persuade me into matrimony, which is why i will end up an old maid.
i love you. most ardently.
please do me the honor of accepting my hand.
i appreciate the struggle you have been through, and i am very sorry to have caused you pain.
believe me, it was unconsciously done.
are you... laughing at me?
i wonder who first discovered the power of poetry in driving away love?
i thought that poetry was the food of love.
what do you recommend to encourage affection?
i'm very fond of walking.
i do not have the talent of conversing easily with people i have never met before.
perhaps you should take your aunt's advice and practice?
so this is your opinion of me. thank you for explaining it so fully.
those are the words of a gentleman.
from the first moment i met you, your arrogance and conceit, your selfish disdain for the feelings of others made me realize that you were the last man in the world i could ever be prevailed upon to marry.
forgive me for taking up so much of your time.
maybe it's that i find it hard to forgive the follies and vices of others, or their offenses against me.
my good opinion, once lost, is lost forever.
i cannot tease you about that. what a shame, for i dearly love to laugh.
i will not and i certainly never shall.
you have insulted me in every possible way, and can now have nothing further to say.
i must ask you to leave immediately.
i have never been thus treated in my entire life.
i can admire you much better from here.
do you talk, as a rule, while dancing?
i prefer to be unsociable and taciturn.
i dare say you will find him amiable.
it would be most inconvenient since i have sworn to loathe him for all eternity.
no one would suspect your manners to be rehearsed.
i've come to tell you the news.
not all of us can afford to be romantic.
i've been so blind.
they are far too easy to judge.
i was wrong. i was entirely wrong about him.
i am well aquainted with you, [name], to know that i cannot alarm you, even should i wish it.
your skills in the art of matchmaking are positively occult.
āĀ Ā correct me if I'm wrong, miss sharmaā and I dearly hope I am wrong but,Ā Ā ā nikolai leans towards her conspiratorially, though audacious nonetheless. tonight he was a prince amongst an unmarried audience, escaping a flock of eager mamas and daughters queueing up, with only the excuse of seeking fresh air in his armoury. but tonight, he also is a detective, an unraveler of mysteries as he'd call himself: and he's taken up the case of the elder sharma sibling & her decided ignorance of him. āĀ Ā have I offended you in any way? you seem to have been avoiding me.Ā Ā ā
the heat of a body much too close to her had kate instinctively taking a pointed step away from the prince who had invaded her space. in a rather short span of time, she had quickly learned that there was nothing subtle about the lantsov royalty. in fact, prince nikolai seemed to do as he pleased with no fear of consequence or reprimand so the frank line of questioning came as no surprise to her. it took kate much effort to control her features from contorting into annoyance, but as the elder sharma sister she had practiced masking her emotions and turned to him with a mild grin. " i assure you, sir, that was not my intention. " the corners of her lips twitched as she did her best to tame the sharp edge in her tone. " however, as i am sure you have many other matters to tend to, i shall leave you to be now that the air is cleared up. thank you for the pleasant conversation. " with a rushed curtesy, kate turned swiftly on her heels to continue down rotten row at a much faster pace than what would be deemed a simple stroll.
"am i the only one who finds all of these affairs a bit ⦠tedious?" @ownlore
the last thing kate sharma had anticipated when trailing her younger sister like a hawk had been any sort of interruption. it was no secret that the people of the ton didn't particularly like mary and perhaps kate even less. she had expected a quiet night where she would weave through bodies like a shadow as her sister waltzed gracefully from arm to arm. for surely, no one would pay mind to a spinstress like herself, nearly six and twenty years of age ! so when the lilting words reached her, she turned to find an unfamiliar face in her periphery. unfamiliar yet not wholly unwelcome. she could do with some respite.
unsure of where the conversation would lead, she turned her sights back to the dance floor with a small grin. " for the sake of my sister, i must pretend to be nothing but overtly enthusiastic. " as if on cue, the younger sharma shot a look over at her sister as though she were the one checking on her rather the other way around. kate flashed her an encouraging smile, pearly whites and all. as soon as edwina's attention had been recaptured by her dance partner, she tilted her head closer to her new companion and dropped her voice to a whisper. " however, if not for her, this would nary make my list of things to do in the ton. "
with one final look at edwina, to ensure she was indeed making the most of her dance card, she finally turned her full attention to the girl at her side. " correct me if i'm mistaken, but i don't believe we've been introduced. kate, and you are ? "
the following is a collection of sentence starters from season 1, episodes 1-2, of netflixās bridgerton.
you do not know me, and you never shall.
do not worry, (name). it shall all be over in a matter of ⦠hours.
the only thing i shall worry about, (name), is if i am to go before (title / name) looking anything like you in that ill-fitting frock.
i am already roasting!
are you to complain the entire day, (name)?
surely i cannot be expected to bear these fashions the entire day.
i feel like a princess. do i look like one?
do you truly wish to know what i think you look like?
i have imagined this day for so very long. and now it is finally here.
i would never miss such an important day for you and our family.
flawless, my dear.
did that truly just happen?
keep smiling, dearest. they are watching you. now more than ever.
you absolutely sparkled, (name)!
come now, i merely simpered and minced in a pretty dress like everyone else.
one flies too close to the sun, and ā¦
what would you know of handsome suitors?
oh, this one is quite ravishing.
do not tell me that is yet another scandal sheet.
she calls you a ⦠ādiamond of the first waterā. how lovely.
(name), put down that book at once. you shall confuse your thoughts.
you are known to be quite charitable.
the blemishes on her face are quite difficult to conceal. perhaps some arsenic and lead might help?
you too must recognize every eligible nobleman by sight before the danbury ball.
you may wish to listen to her, my lady.
oh, how much competition can this cousin provoke? she came of age on a farm.
someone will hear us, my lord -
i shall have you know this belonged to my father.
should it disappear, iād miss it sadly.
then youād know precisely how i feel - every time you disappear.
stay with me today.
(name). you have me, protecting you, too. i shall always protect you.
surely hours remain before tonight's ball. are you certain you cannot stay? in the interest of defilement?
well, if this is not a sight for sore eyes ā¦
you must excuse the disorderliness. i am to host a ball this evening, as you know.
i have managed to keep the details of your return quiet, but when those vulgar mamas discover there is an eligible duke present at tonight's fete, well, i shall no longer be able to keep such a secret.
i suppose a brief appearance shall ā¦
(name) ⦠it is magical.
they are all staring, (name).
oh, i do love to dance.
should you like my flower? we grow them in our very own garden.
i must show you my watercolors some time. if you desire to see them.
(name). i did not see you there.
he is rather pleasing.
i presume you know of him, too?
i shall not have you making life with a poet. heaven forbid!
is there a reason i have yet to see you on the dance floor?
i am not entirely sure the matter in which we discuss, my lord ā¦
you have always amused me, mr/ms. (last name).
am i honestly to believe you do not already know my name?
if you desired an introduction, madam, i do believe accosting me is the least civilized of ways.
if only it were not time for me to retire.
(name). i did not expect to see you here this morning.
i could not sleep for some reason. all the excitement, i presume.
appears as though it may rain.
i believe i should like to stay.
forgive me for not calling sooner. i had presumed your affections were already engaged.
i have met so many gentlemen over the past few weeks, i am unable to distinguish one from the next.
am i the only one who finds all of these affairs a bit ⦠tedious?
i have a title. which, as far as i am concerned, will end with me.
would you stop - calling me that. it was my fatherās name. never mine.
you shall not outrun them.
will it be just the two of us? yet again?
i know the rules i must follow.
(name) has all but declared me ineligible. worthy of the affection of a detestable simpleton and no one else. tell me ... what others will ever want such damaged goods now?
these musings ⦠they are not true.
i had hoped to find a love match.
i am looking out for you. i am protecting you. it is my duty.
and what of my duty? you are not the only one with responsibility to this family.
this is all i have been raised for. this is all i am. i have no other value.
all eyes have been on me for my entire life.
should her degradation know no bounds?
he does have a presence about him ā¦
is that envy i detect in your voice?
you appear displeased.
perhaps, your grace, it would be better if you refrained from thinking about me at all.
i assure you ⦠i am anything but interested in you.
i am so glad you decided to join us this evening. it was most spontaneous of you.
i believed the two of you to be friends.
i know you think you are solving a problem, but you are not. that is all i shall say about the matter.
do not make this any more difficult than it already is.
it has been ten years. you can no longer use that excuse.
what i know ⦠is that you shall never understand.
i cannot see you anymore.
you said you would always protect me. you promised to care for me, my lord. and now ... what shall i do now?
the resemblance is remarkable. you look just like him. your father.
feast your eyes above, and allow all that is radiant to overwhelm you.
you will never be my husband. i will never marry you.
do you think yourself better than me?
it would be best for you to leave.
now, as far as proposals go, that may be the least romantic of all.
i do not mock you. i am being sincere.
no one ever tells me anything.
breathe, your grace.
what are you doing in here, (name)?
he is smiling. the duke rarely smiles.
you do want our plan to succeed, do you not?
if you were truly courting me, youād buy out every florist in town.
if i were truly courting you, i would not need flowers, only five minutes alone with you in a drawing room.
how is your hand this morning?
i have no interest in causing a scandal, mr/ms. (last name).
you must know you did nothing wrong.
thereās no need for your hysterics.
i hope you are not encouraging improper topics of conversation.
you gave me your word.
this is nothing more than a terrible confusion.
i should like to know what is going on.
one day, you will understand. one day, you will be most appreciative.
remind me again why you were the first person i chose to reacquaint myself with upon my return to town.
admit it, friend. you missed me.
iād like to know what was going through your head last night and this morning.
you have to be more precise. a great deal goes on in a mind as quick as mine.
so, you are not dead after all.
i am afraid we are required to fan the flames of our charade.
we must look like we are enjoying ourselves, as difficult as that may be.
you are to be buried if you so much as look in her direction.
last night was a mistake, i admit.
there is not and never will be any kind of understanding between the two of us.
you are my worst failure.
go on, then. chastise me.
i do not care what kind of training you think you may have.
it is illegal, not to mention positively horrific.
suppose i desire something different.
mr/ms. (last name) ⦠allow me to set my eyes upon you.
it is said one cannot judge a book by its cover.
are you not frightened, too, (name)?
i dare say i would be a fool at this point not to be terrified.
it must be taxing, the game of pretend that you feel you must endlessly maintain.
if we are truly to seem to be courting, if this is to be a match like no other, you should call me by my name.

as the lady of the house, it had become her societal duty to partake in every ball, every soiree, and every what else have you, hosted by esteemed members of the Ton. and kate had quickly grown exhausted of the responsibility. however, she was nothing if not dutiful, so she took to every event with a grin on her lips and exchanged pleasantries with both familiar and unfamiliar couples. about an hour into the ball, she had lost her husband amongst the crowd and was grateful for the much needed relief. as moldable as the new bridgerton was to her surroundings, anthony was much more equip to handle the inner workings of mayfair, having grown up deep in its jaws. with him entertaining the lords with stories of their travels and recent wedding, she was free to flit around the perimeter of the room, avoiding getting caught up in long winded conversations as best as she could.
kate's eyes scanned the sea of bodies until they locked onto the disapproving scowl of the attendee. with the way the brothers held themselves, it was often easy to forget their rank amongst the other lords. in that way, kate and azriel were alike. two outsiders who had infiltrated their way into mayfair. a moment of recognition passed between them amidst the exchanged quips and the corners of kate's lips pulled upwards. she lifted her chin stubbornly and for a moment she felt much like the older sharma she had been only months ago. a woman who didn't have to worry about the reputation of the bridgerton family name resting on her shoulders. " i had merely wanted to spare you from the wrath of a much less kinder lord, had they assumed your murderous glares were directed at them. i assure you, my wrath is much more tolerable. "
she resisted the urge to roll her eyes at his theatrics and instead opted for waving a dismissive hand in his direction. " viscountess bridgerton to be exact, but i am willing to make an exception for you. " she clasped her hands in front of her and cocked her head at him. " now, when it comes to bowing, unless you wish to audition for this season's diamond, i find that wholly unnecessary. " kate's gaze travelled across the ballroom to find cassian playing his role with great ease. a stark contrast to the soldier at her side. it urged her to quirk a brow at her present company in question. " if i may pry, who managed to convince you to come out to tonight's soiree ? for you cannot convince me that it was of your own volition. "
