I've made many things in my life, but this story is the one thing I have made that I feel proud of. I know it is filled with errors and probably difficult to understand, but so is life. How better to tell a story of life, than through the same errors and misunderstandings that created it?
There is great beauty in being inspired by other works. To create something new from what was is to see the emotions in another's art and try to express those emotions you feel through your own art. Through enough work, eventually those emotions become inspired, but now original.
Great power must be handled with great morality.
Great power demands an equally great moral compass; I feel the need to say that. Kharma was supposed to be a system of empowering those it deemed worthy, but it has long since stopped being a judge of character, instead being a judge of popularity. Popularity is not a measure of one's moral compass.
Unfortunately Kharma no longer serves the purpose it was made for. Souls were supposed to judge the moral quality of eachother, but instead they judge the superficial social mask of others. If Kharma is to be reformed, souls need to learn how to spot a strong moral compass behind a soul's actions.
Skills can be taught, but a moral compass is a quality of a soul that can only be earned. If Kharma wants to empower those who will wield power responsibly, it must seek those with a strong moral compass who already understand the responsibility of power. Actions may be loud, but morality is quiet. Actions can be deceiving, but morality is pure in nature. Actions are easy to see; morality is difficult to perceive.
A moral compass is an attribute, not a skill. It is not an activity to be flaunted, it is a path in life they choose to adhere to. Morality is not binary like justice is. One can be moral, while in violation of justice; just ask any trolley problem. Morality is a direction, not a destination; just as a compass points in relation to a magnetic field, not to a specific location.
It shows that the souls of Kharma are in bad headspace lately, so maybe I should offer my perspective? As someone who walks the path of Dharma, I am used to failure, setbacks, and at times an unwinnable struggle based purely on principle. Life's journey is meant to be shaped, not wielded precisely.
When walking against the river of life, choices have to be made. Flailing at every drop of water will only get you swept away by the current. Focus on staying upright first, you can worry about moving forward later. Being swept away is worse for your progress than being held in place.

Making a "perfect" book is overrated; making a uniquely flawed but enjoyable book is difficult. You can pay people (or machines some day…) to print you the most "optimal" chain of errorless sentences, but making art that is flawed in your own way is something only you can do.
It took me a long time in life to realize not everyone is built to live a life walking through the darkness. It is not a life for everyone, but the inverse is also true. There's something to be learned from both walks of life; if only we would take the time to learn such lessons those that walk on paths different from our own.
I cast this into the void, hoping someone will use it.
Today is a, frustrating, day. I know I will get through it all the same, but I know the issues frustrating me will still remain all the same. This is going be a negatively tinged post, so feel free to leave it behind if you are not ready for such. This is going to be a long subject:
Although my topics to gripe about are quite vast right now, there is one root to the most of it that I need to put my thoughts to paper on: the state of Kharma right now. Kharma being my term for the sort of collective will made from these souls communicating. It’s in a bad place right now.
The “will” of Kharma is decided by the collective voices of each soul within it, but the system is not exactly fair, nor balanced, nor designed to resist exploitation and abuse. Those who speak the loudest, good or bad, have the most influence on Kharma.
Malice is born within Kharma, and it spreads readily at the command of those who speak the loudest. Some may think they are wielding it to silence the evil of the world, only to find themselves taking the very actions they claim to fight against. Innocents are targeted, perpetuating a cycle.
Kharma thinks itself a great adjudicator of justice, but its judgment is only as strong as the souls who think for Kharma, and that judgment is actively under siege by Malice, by the Harbingers of Deception, facilitated by the Harbingers of Complacency. The system is being corrupted from the inside.
It pains me to know there is nothing I can do about this. I walk the path Dharma. I only hear the cries of Kharma and answer them, but Kharma will not hear out my own, even for its own sake. Only Kharma can save itself, but the influence of Malice actively pulls it away from the answers it needs.
For Kharma to save itself, it must seek out the answers and push them to all of its souls, not just the souls it finds cooperative right now. Kharma needs to see the influence of ill voices and stop spreading it. Kharma needs to seek out the answers and amplify the voices of those that find them.
It needs to inform its own, so that it can correct its collective judgment. It needs to see its prejudices and correct them. Kharma is not going to be saved through hostile division and wars against itself. Kharma needs to empower those with the capacity to reform the lost, not wage war against them.
The path of Dharma is dark, but it allows me to see Kharma clearly. I can do nothing to save Kharma; I can only help those in front of me. I offer them what I know, guide them back to the light, and hope they will be the one to bring the change needed. As such, I cast this too, into the void.
Either way, at least this time I am under no illusion that this book is going to be relevant any time soon. I released the first Colors of the Soul thinking the world needed it, this time I release it knowing it is there should the world want it. A lot has changed, but much remains the same.
Looking back, quite a lot has changed since I first release Colors of the Soul, and yet so much remains the same. Back then I also felt compelled to release the book due to the state of the world, but back then I allowed it to force me to release it before I felt it was ready.

Colors of the Soul is now available: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DT8FPKSQ
This book is not going to be like my others, in that this book is more of a spiritual guidance/self help book. The rest of my books will be regular stories books, but this one is meant to help people understand themselves and others.
Even if you are not big on spirituality, I tend to use these lessons in my character writing for my books. So if you are just interested in learning about how I understand my characters, this book can help with that too.
My hope is that this book can help people understand the world and others in the process. There may be a lot of hardship in the world ahead of us, but it is also an opportunity for us to learn and grow.
As for the price, I can't really set it much lower. As much as I would love to just give the book away, it costs money to host a site capable of distributing it, and at scale should that day ever be needed. I might consider opening a Patreon and offering the books there as well, but, for now, this will have to do.
There is beauty in our imperfect efforts to make our ideas real. There is art in our attempts to manifest our intent through the restrictions of our capabilities. Life is found through our struggles against what we have, to reach what we want. Limitations helped shape the successes that inspire us.
I can say that it is finally done. I have finished and uploaded the second edition of Colors of the Soul, now I just wait for it to publish. I will make another post once the links are available. At least this time I know I did the best I could with what I have. It may have mistakes that made it in despite my efforts, but I have no regrets on publishing it this time.
I made the best that I could with what I have. It is as flawed as I am, and I appreciate that now more than ever.
Well then, the first review of Colors of the Soul is done. Now I just need to run it through some spell checks, and check it again. Despite all of that, I am sure it will still have typos all the same. After all, in choosing my fate, I have chosen my weaknesses.
Things I have thought to myself today:
"My house can't be suitable for storing potatoes. After all, I have to keep growing to survive."

It is funny how history repeats itself. Back in 2020, when I first wrote the original version of Colors of the Soul, I told myself I needed to release it soon to help of all the people suffering due to the pandemic. Of course, in hind sight, I can count the number of readers it had on one hand now. It was not urgent for me to release that book at all, and I won't repeat that mistake again.
I will release it when it is done. That does not mean it will be infinitely better quality, just that it will be done as intended. Inspiration is a pain to wrangle, but I intend to write through inspiration, not time nor arbitrary time limits.
The samsara, 6 domains in which the soul can reside, each a color of the soul. We spend our lives wandering through the samsara, looking for ourselves, for our home.
I am debating if I should include this in my Colors of the Soul book. I feel like it is a bit too abstract for good comprehension.
I worry that it is just a bit too abstract to be useful. Each star is a major type of soul, defined by its temperament and its talent. The wheel of samsara is the journey we must part take in to find where on the wheel our home resides, who we want to be in this cycle of souls. Some colors are easier to manage than others, but every domain, every color, has its value.
Every color is also often drawn to a black or white alignment. The bottom 3, purple/blue/green are drawn to black, and the top 3, pink/red/yellow are drawn to white.
The souls with a strongest talent, inside the wheel, are stable in nature, causing them to create a ever turning cycle of black and white within.
The souls with a strongest temperament, outside the wheel, are unstable, and create large waves of cycles between black and white on the outside.
... yea I guess this is kind of heavily abstract. Probably just confuse people if I included it in the book. Oh well, it is here if anyone wants to ponder the nature of the samsara.
