This started off as a drawing to represent who I am but my stream of consciousness approach has turned it into… this otherworldly creature. I legit don’t know where to go from here with it, but I love the vibe. I might add some flowers, but I want this to look really strange and ethereal. Unless I design some strange and ethereal flowers… there’s lots of potential with this!

I got off a call earlier with my lecturer and peers regarding where I’m standing in my career, what I plan to do, and if I have any projects lined up as they’d hate to see us stop creating artwork.
I had mentioned this site called Reedsy, a place where you can either look for freelance artists or be a freelance artist for book cover art. I was asked if I had submitted anything yet to which I said that no because I felt I didn’t have enough to put forward. The look of confusion on their face as they told me I have plenty of work to put forward has stuck with me honestly.
It reminded me of the saying “You miss all the chances you don’t take” and it got me thinking about how debilitated some of us become from the possibility of a rejection. The question of if your art is good enough lingering in your head as you overlook your previous projects. We get so hung up on the things we may not have that we can’t see what’s right in front of us.
Yes you can make that artwork. Yes you can and should submit your work to festivals, competitions, future clients, portfolio reviews; damned be the thoughts and feelings of doubt!
I’m sorting through all my social media accounts to see what I want to do with them and Tumblr is the site I never really know what to do with.
I have instagram to upload my posts in a relatively professional manner. My website is for my higher end projects I’ve made throughout the years and for it to be a space for potential clients to reach me on a professional level. Ko-Fi is well… Ko-Fi. Threads and Bluesky is a quick release of “here take my thoughts” and I’m done with it. But Tumblr? Stumped.
Thinking over it now, I’m going to use my account on here differently. I’ll still be posting my artwork but also take it easy. Post my musings. Be more myself. There is only so much time in the day I can give to being professional and I feel if I can’t have any fun with my accounts then why have them at all?
Fire, the Hylian
It’s been so hard keeping this quiet all week! I made this for my beloved friend @fire-the-hylian for her birthday and her reaction was so worth the wait. I mixed BOTW and ghibli themes in here to capture the essence of what Fire loves about the Zelda franchise and I think I caught that whimsical vibe pretty well!

One thing I love about drawing is how easily I get lost in thought while my hand is carving out what I’m imagining. It’s automatic and therapeutic!

I was looking through some past pieces on my page and was wondering which one to redraw in the style I have today when the cover of Monachopsis caught my eye. It’s mad to think that I made a small comic 4 years ago about my worries going into the pandemic into my first year of college. Excuse me, where did that time go? Maybe I should revisit this little story and wrap it up nicely with an epilogue!
Another pet portrait of Maisie 🥰 Last Christmas was full of surprises. She was an absolute dream to draw, especially with how expressive her eyes are. Making these portraits and tribute pieces have me considering starting commissions, watch this space!
I made this surprise Christmas present for a friend of mine. It’s her beloved dog Fia who sadly passed away last September. I was hoping and praying it would arrive at her door before the post office shut up shop for Christmas and thankfully it did!
I love making surprise Christmas gifts, especially when they're little tributes about beloved pets! This was a challenge; especially as an artist that mainly works in line-work and tiptoes around colour 🫣

I took part in #thesecretartshow in 2023. It was hosted by One In Four with the proceeds going towards providing support and therapy for survivors of abuse. The theme was open and it was a lot of fun coming up with this little woodland mouse creature!
