occupation:

uni student in education of maths and computer science, year 5/5

part-time high school teacher of IT

i also do occasional web development

planning to start my phd next year!

hobbies / interests:

reading, mainly classics, literary fiction and non-fiction, essays, long form articles etc. (i have a sideblog for that - @katarinareads)

music! some of my faves include: laufey, rex orange county, men i trust, matt maltese, mcr. i also enjoy classical music, city pop, and lofi / video game soundtracks.

playing games on my switch, mostly acnh at the moment

long walks (while listening to a good album or podcast)

journalling, crossword puzzles, reality tv

after procrastinating for a bit, i finally started writing the "design and development" chapter of my thesis. i should have done it earlier :') but starting is always the worst part for me, so hopefully it will go well from here!

thesis update:

had a meeting with my supervisor on tuesday. i think it went quite well - compared to how unhappy i was in december / january (i was kind of convinced i wouldn't be able to finish it in time) i am feeling much better about my progress.

continued with data analysis. i am pretty much done analyzing all the data i currently have. now it's time to write it all down :')

hello, happy march, everyone! i hope it brings you blessings 🌼

my main goal this month is to basically finish my thesis, which means:

some data collection (i still need to do a couple of interviews)

finish data analysis

finish theoretical background chapter (i have about 10 pages written at this point, need 5ish more)

a chapter about design and development of my app

methodology chapter

results chapter

introduction, conclusion, discussion, abstract etc.

yeah, it's a lot :’) but the actual deadline is in early may, so i have some leeway. my supervisor needs a couple of weeks to read it and give me feedback, so having it all done by early april would be ideal.

so i will try to do a sort of "31 days of productivity" during this month and post more regularly! hopefully that will help keep me accountable :)

13. what are your hobbies?

reading, listening to music / podcasts, and playing animal crossing. lately i've been doing crossword puzzles as well :)

17. are you a member of any clubs or associations?

nope! all my hobbies and extracurriculars have been quite solitary lol. although i used to play violin in an orchestra, if that counts.

24. what's your most recent degree and has it been useful to you?

bachelor's degree in education of maths and computer science. it is required in my field of work, so yes, useful in that sense. however, the usefulness of the content i learned during those 3 years is a different story.

28. what chore do you hate the most?

i don't have many "studyblr pictures" to share lately. most of my work and thesis progress is happening in google docs, which is not very aesthetic, and i don't want to be doxxing myself or my students lol

15. do you collect anything?

books! and i would like to start a moomin mug collection (only have 1 at the moment), but it's hard to justify spending that much on mugs :') makes it special to buy one though

20. what's your favourite beverage?

a good cappuccino <3 i make one every morning

26. do you make a list before going to the grocery store or just wing it?

how i’ve been spending the weeks between semesters:

we’re adults with adult money, so we got ourselves a nintendo switch and acnh :3 i used to play on my old switch lite back in 2021, but playing it on tv and having an island with my love is so much better
