It had been years of efforts and research. Countless lives taken both loyal and heretical. All this to defy the very order of nature. Narinder was determined. He would undo death itself. And yet for each attempt, each new experiment, it all rotted in time. Death had stripped the soul from the body and left it to rot.

Those with injured flesh passed again the fastest. The untouched survived longer yet decayed as if life had not been restored. Some still refused to return at all for more than a few seconds. A piece of the puzzle was missing. The longest one persisted in it's original flesh was two weeks. A loyal follower, but one lost to Death all the same.

What was missing?

The bone carver, his highest disciple at the time of his work, was there to assist in generating ideas. Unharmed bodies did not work, nor did enchanted necklaces. Loyalists lasted longer, but their devotion only delayed the inevitable. It did not change the weakness of the bodies that already accepted their undoing.

Perhaps the answer lied not in the soul, but in the flesh. The soul returned each time, yet the body always became the point of issue. And yet the bonecarver and Shamura both proposed an idea. Do not reuse the flesh, but instead craft a new vessel for the soul. It would need a new ritual but the cat was as clever as he was cunning. With his creativity and the assistance of his kin and faith, a new ritual was born. It need only to be tested.

Gamygin, the bonecarver, his highest disciple offered their flesh for the cause. Their faith on their Bishop held true through the years of their service, and to give themselves wholly to Death would merely be the next step. While the risks were great, the Bishop weighed them carefully.

A life was snuffed that night. A life given to Death in show of mutual defiance. Narinder would treat the next steps carefully.

Bones were prepared as was the ritual to reform them. The Red Crown and Narinder alike channeled their power into the bones to given unto them flesh anew and call upon the soul of the most loyal disciple to return. Muscle grew, bones aligned, a heart began to beat, thumping in the chest of something that just drew it's first continued breath.

Gamygin was returned.

Gamygin collapsed.

The disciple was back, but the untested ritual had left it's mark on the linsang. Orange eyes shone purple as ichor dripped from their sockets. They were alive, yet flawed. The bonecarver craved flesh. They were rarely satiated. Another ritual was performed to help bring back their sanity with mixed success. While unstable, High Disciple Gamygin had returned.

Their flesh did not decay with time.

I was reading the Wiki, and apparently it says the Gorgo is female. But I don’t know if it’s 100% true or not tho

So the answer to why my Gorgo is a guy...

It's just a case of me not having had the correct information at the time of concepting the character. Same with Thoas, actually. I've got those two swapped from the official genders purely because that wasn't public information at the time. Not sure if I'm ready or willing to fix them since I've become pretty attached to their current stories, but it is something I know of at least!

Where the Lamb killed off the oldest bishops first and left poor Leshy completely alone. Leshy surely has never known true isolation like that since he was likely adopted early on in life and had family to turn to ever since. And now he ain't coping well
