I love this parallel from Ep 5.
Showing us Phil, his face covered only in shadows, while Garrett face is in light and shadow (his conflict) and the sunlight peeking behind his back.
It shows Garretts inner turmoil of being or becoming like his father, but conveys to the audience what he himself doesn’t see yet, is yes, there is darkness in him, as in everybody, but in his life, Garrett is using/focusing that energy, that rage/anger/helplessness that has been building up inside him for years for good. How deeply protective and caring he is especially with the people he loves and consideres family. Yes, he wrestles with control, to keep himself in check, but what creates the distinction is, at the end of the day his inner light wins.
