     "      𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀  𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲  𝘆𝗼𝘂'𝗿𝗲  𝘄𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴,  𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗻𝘆  𝗯𝗼𝘆.      𝘆𝗼𝘂'𝗹𝗹  𝗯𝗲  𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗱  𝗵𝗼𝘄  𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗵  𝗼𝘂𝘁  𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲  𝗶𝘀  𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗲,      "     oh  he  absolutely  heard  that  tremor  in  daniel’s  voice,  he  was  all  harsh  words  and  the  occasional  outburst,  but  inside,  he’s  still  that  scared  kid  who  doesn’t  know  who  to  trust.     he  loved  that  he  could  come  in  and  turn  his  life  upside  down,  to  see  daniel  panicking  at  the  idea  that  his  own  daughter  really  wasn’t  everything  he  thought  she  was.     silver  shrugged  his  shoulders  casually,      “     what  reason  would  i  have  to  lie  about  this?     she’s  very  good,  there’s  a  lot  of  skill  there  and  she’s  got  all  this  pent  up  anger.     she  reminds  me  of  you  when  you  came  to  me,      ”     oh  he’s  not  lying  but  he’s  absolutely  pushing  his  buttons.     he  knows  exactly  how  to  twist  it  and  make  daniel  do  whatever  he  wants,  it  was  just  fun  to  se  how  to  do  it  next,      “     she  came  out  of  her  own  curiosity,  who  am  i  to  deny  her  of  an  outlet  for  her  anger?      ”

     𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺  𝘁𝗵𝗲  𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹  𝗳𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁  𝘁𝗼  𝘁𝗵𝗲  𝗮𝗹𝗹  𝘃𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘆  𝘁𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁,     there  was  plenty  from  the  last  year  that  tory  would  love  to  forget  and  she  never  thought  that  it  would  be  a  mutual  feeling  for  sam.     looking  down  at  the  bag  of  ice  she  had  resting  on  her  messed  up  hand,  she  sighed  softly,      “     yeah,  me  too,      ”     she  admits  softly,  unsure  of  what  exactly  she  should  say  or  do  now  because  she  felt  like  she  was  lost  in  the  deep  end  and  no  one  was  coming  to  rescue  her.     looking  up  at  her,  she  just  shrugs  her  shoulders  a  little  in  defeat,      “     i  know  i  should  have  come  and  told  you  about  the  tournament  the  moment  i  knew.     but  i  let  kreese  convince  me  not  to  and  i  trusted  him  to  get  this  all  sorted  when  i  shouldn’t  have,      ”     it  felt  like  a  poor  excuse.     maybe  she  had  also  been  scared  that  sam  wouldn’t  have  believed  her.     maybe  she  had  wanted  to  try  and  hold  onto  that  good  feeling  she  had  felt  when  she  thought  she  had  won  on  her  own  merit.     tory  sighed  again,  unsure  of  what  she  wanted  to  do  now  and  unsure  of  what  the  next  stop  was.     she  shouldn’t  have  gone  back  once  she  knew  kreese  didn’t  have  her  back  anymore.     she  shouldn’t  have  gone  back  after  walking  away  from  the  sekai  taikai  presentation  when  she  realised  it  was  happening  again,  the  referee  had  been  so  obvious  that  silver  had  paid  him  off  and  she  refused  to  be  a  part  of  that  again.     she  shouldn’t  have  gone  back  at  all  after  the  tournament.     she  should  have  left  with  robby  and  not  looked  back,      “     i’m  sorry,  okay?     i’m  sorry  for  everything  i  did  to  you  and  put  you  through,  i  let  myself  get  caught  up  in  my  anger  and  my  want  to  prove  myself.     i  really  fucked  up  and  i  guess  i’m  really  paying  for  it  now     .     .     .     i  just  don’t  know  how  to  make  things  right,      ”
