Lena had just about as much of spreadsheets and business proposals that she could take for one day. Being the CEO of her own company had it’s perks, including having the luxury to come and go from her office however much she pleased. Though it wasn’t common to give herself the afternoon away, given her workaholic nature to try and redeem her family name, she found herself on the streets of National City, looking for a bite to eat. Now that her life wasn’t really being threatened at such an alarming rate, it was nice just being able to get out and around without protection in toe. As she walked into a popular restaurant, Lena’s face cracked into a knowing smirk as she caught sight of a familiar face. One she was actually hoping to see rather soon, even if it was being shoved full of pastry.
“Miss Danvers. I would have thought CatCo would have been keeping you more busy after those impressive articles I’ve been reading.”
Though they were past the time for such formality with their friendship, Lena just couldn’t resist teasing the young woman.
“You’ve seen me outside of my office before. No need to be so surprised, Kara.”
Setting her sugar filled pre-dinner snack down on her napkin, Kara smiled bashfully at Lena's compliment. Hearing compliments about her writing was something she took a lot of pride in, considering how fresh she was, still, in her new career choice. She got a lot of feedback from her new boss, but very rarely was it positive. Hearing kind words, especially from Lena of all people, gave her a sense of pride - though you could never tell with the way her hand automatically reached for her glasses. A nervous tick Mon-El had liked to point out to her everytime she did it.
"Actually, as a matter of fact I am working on something. I'm getting some food for my sister and then I have a rally to go to. I'm supposed to interview some of the protesters at National City park once it settles down a little." The blonde admitted, giving Lena a knowing look. After their conversation about Alien identification technology, she had a feeling Lena could assume her stance on the matter. Being neutral as an alien journalist was so hard sometimes.
"Oh, I wanted to say thank you for inviting Mark and I to your fundraiser. It was a lot of fun and the food was just.. so great."
