The situation in Gaza is catastrophic but please don't forget to keep your eyes on the west bank as well.
Zionist settlers are growing increasingly more emboldened as a direct result of the shameful silence of the entire world.
There are constant videos coming out of the west bank, of teenage settlers trying to intimidate Palestinian women, of idf soldiers openly kidnapping kids after tying them up and blindfolding them for throwing stones. One such video has two grown ass idf members brazenly threatening a boy who couldn't be older than twelve in Hebrew, about how "they'll teach him a lesson since it's obvious his parents didn't teach him well". All events that are not deemed important enough to cover in the eyes of major western news outlets, too busy condemning death to the idf chants to bother sharing stories of innocent people being terrorised.
Let this be undeniable proof that no form of Palestinian existence is peaceful enough in the eyes of Zionists. Gaza is not suffering because they're under the leadership of Hamas. They're suffering because of Israel, because of Zionism, because of people who will watch pictures of Palestinians of all ages in various states of brutalisation then argue that they deserve it because "they voted for the wrong people".
Palestinians will never be safe as long as Zionism exists. That's just how it is.
Apparently I'm not done yet talking about this . I just can't comprehend the cruelty. Can't comprehend the notion that you might wake up one day, safe in your bed and surrounded by your family, only to end up imprisoned miles away in an Israeli detention center because you dared express your displeasure at the colonizers tearing up your home and destroying everything by night. I can't comprehend the constant terror Palestinian parents live through in both Gaza and the west bank. I can't understand how your child might go out in search of aid only to never come back. I don't know how it's possible for a child to go out only to be kidnapped by soldiers and there's nothing anyone can do about it.
It doesn't matter how many thick dossiers of proof, how much video footage we have of the abuse Palestinian detainees go through inside Israeli detention centers. No one does anything.
They're waiting until we reach a point where the only thing left to do is build a statue, assign a yearly date for remembrance, and vow to never let something like this happen again. I feel like I'm losing my mind.
