seeing peoples theories and takes on obsession really solidified to me that people are genuinely media illiterate like a movie can spell out something clear as fucking day and people will go "guys i had this craaaaazy thought what if [the most obvious message of the film]"

i take pictures of ppl at my job and one cool thing about it is that it has taught me to care way less about the way i look in photos and videos because i have literally NEVER looked at a customer's photo and thought "ew they look ugly" or found anything negative to say about them, they're always completely neutral to me (unless its something particularly cute or otherwise outstanding in a positive way), everyone looks like a person, completely regular and in that way also beautiful. sometimes i hear them talk negatively about the way they look in the photos and it breaks my heart because it's always something i would've never ever noticed, much less cared about. your appearance is neutral!! and that's fantastic!!! stop caring about it so much trust me
