The whole 'Jim lied about his and Freddie's relationship' comes from Lesley Ann Jones, the same woman who said that Freddie had a secret fucking daughter. The quotes are obviously fabricated. There was this section where 'Jim' detailed how he had no clue what the word masquerade was or how it was spelt and how he was searching around the house for a dictionary to see what it meant. Really bizarre. There was also a part where Jim said Freddie and him wouldn't have still been together if Freddie didn't pass, but in an interview Jim did in 2006 (under this paragraph) he said that he believed that Freddie and he would still be together. Don't quote me on this, but I swead I read that Brian believed they would still be together? Not sure though.
There’s an element of fairytale to Jim Hutton’s life, though he’d roar at the suggestion. A rough-hewn Irishman, he is utterly direct, has a
Another part of the many quotes was where 'Jim' spoke about the reason Freddie settled back into London is because he 'must've known that he was on the brink in terms of his health'. Sorry, but to me this is insinuating that Freddie knew he had AIDS and still slept with Jim having these doubts. May not be what Lesley is trying to infer but that's how it sounded to me.
The quotes are plain rubbish, painting both Freddie and Jim as horrible people. 'Jim' said how Freddie never showed him off yet that has been contradicted by Freddie's friends. A few I remember being Thor and Crystal Taylor, which I will insert the images below this paragraph, and Anita Dobson in one of the more recent documentaries.
Forgot to mention that Jim went on that German show with Phoebe (Peter Freestone) where they were cruel and showed a hologram of Freddie in the 'These Are The Days Of Our Lives'. That was done in 2006 as well. Not sure why Jim would continue to to interviews and go on shows about Freddie if he admitted they hardly had a relationship past 1985. Also I am pretty sure he did do another documentary after 1996 (I think it was after 1996) and it was the one where he talked about the Living on My Own tapes and he rolled his eyes at the footage Freddie included of Jim. I am sorry if this seems jumbled lol, typing as I think.
Lesley Ann Jones never actually worked with Freddie. She always pushed the straight narrative and the Mary as the love of Freddie's life narrative. She publishes a lot of shit about Freddie's life whilst he is not here to defend himself.
The way 'Jim' spoke about Freddie in those quotes is drastically different from any other interviews he has given. In the quotes from Lesley, he speaks about Freddie like he was a volatile, controlling overlord and that Jim was scared of him and losing their relationship. In everything else, Jim has spoke about Freddie with nothing but love. Talking about how gentle and shy he was.
Freddie and Jim had a legitimate, loving, romantic relationship. Anybody who knew them actually knew them personally, said they did. Was it perfect? Definitely not. But they loved eachother. People are never going to stop spreading abhorrent rumours about Jim and their relationship, but anyone that knew them said they were a real couple and in love.
Also, considering he and Freddie had 'no romantic relationship' past 1985, these are some pretty intimate pictures of an employer and his employee:
The reason that people love to talk shit about their relationship is simply because they are homophobic. They cannot deal with the fact that Freddie was gay and died in a relationship with a man whom he called his husband so they resort to villianising Jim and tearing down the most secure and happiest relationship Freddie had. I mean, I am only just remembering the interview Freddie did in 1987 where he talked about how good his current relationship was and how he had found his 'niche'!
In all, Freddie and Jim loved eachother very much and everyone around them said so and there are pictures to prove it. A woman, who is known to write sensationalised biographies about dead men who cannot disprove what she writes, cannot contradict their relationship. All she is doing is spreading hate.
