I Got It From My Mama
"What is... your fathers... maiden(?) name???" was one of the few lines the official at the American Social Security Administration dropped today.
I had filled out a form, containing information about my parents, among other things, in order to get a social security number.
2 of the questions were: Mother name at her birth. Fathers name.
Now, my father has taken my mothers last name, not the other way around. This seemed very confusing and hard to wrap ones head around. He ended up taking my Fathers 'maiden name' and entering into the system.
