I enjoyed this movie more than I thought I would. At first, I didn’t think it would be great, considering it had a somewhat rough start and was predictable. Throughout the movie, I started to like it more and more. I didn’t know what events were actually happening and what was just an illusion, I loved the games it made my brain play. If I’m being honest, I still don’t know if there was a bad guy and I love that.

Overall, I would recommend this movie to anyone who isn’t a big horror fan, but still likes an occasional scare. I would rate this movie a 3/5. It was good, but not something that I would go out of my way to watch again

After reading PIzza Girl by Jean Kyoung Frazier, I wanted more books like it and after a while of searching, I found many books that sounded interesting, but most of them weren’t available at my school or the town library. Finally, after a while of searching, I found a book titled We Are Okay by Nina LaCour. At first, I wasn’t interested, but it kept popping up and I felt as though I had no choice but to read it, so I did. 

We Are Okay is about a college freshman, Marin, who has started a new life in New York, away from her past one in California. Mable, her old best friend, has been non-stop trying to get ahold of Marin, but she ignores Mable, not ready to think about her past again. Eventually, Marin breaks and gets back with Mable. They decide that Mable will fly up to New York to visit Marin during Christmas break so they can catch up and spend time together after months of being separated, which leads to Marin explaining everything to Mable. Everything that happened in California, which, to the reader, is told through Marin’s memories, leaving as fast as they go. 

This book is absolutely not what I expected it to be. I was assuming it would be some cheesy book that was too dramatic on how awful life is based on the cover, but while it did complain about life a lot, LaCour did it in such a way that it made life feel bittersweet. Her writing at times made me enjoy life more, made me want to savor it while I’m young. I was expecting anything but what the book actually was. In the beginning, I was hesitant, not sure if this was just going to be another book that took me decades to finish, another book that I wasn’t really interested in, but didn’t hate enough to stop reading. But after only a chapter or two I realized that this was a book that I could find myself loving and never wanting to end. 

I can’t decide if I want to give this book a 5 out of 5 or a 4.5, but I’m leaning more toward 5. I really did enjoy the characters, the writing style, the relationships, and honestly just everything about it. Of course, it’s not perfect, everything has its flaws, but it’s pretty damn close to being perfect. I couldn’t have been happier with the book I read. 

I would recommend this book to people who want a quick read and are interested in realistic fiction books that have some heavier topics. This book will make you savor your life and maybe even chuckle at how ironic life is. It’s a great book and I really would recommend that you at least try to read it.

Pizza Girl is a book about an eighteen-year-old who is not only experiencing teen pregnancy, but also a crisis. Our main character is a Korean-American girl working at a pizza place in Los Angeles, her hometown. She lives with her supportive mother and loving boyfriend and though she loves them, she finds herself constantly pushing them away. Then, one day at work, she gets a call that completely turns her world. The call was from a woman who she learns is named Jenny Hauser who is asking for a very peculiar pizza. Jenny becomes our pizza girl’s biggest obsession and she grows quite fond of her, despite their circumstances and differences. In the book, you get to watch Pizza Girl go through mourning, denial, an identity crisis, and so much more.

I really enjoyed Frazier's writing, the way she described emotions made the book seem so real; throughout the book I even found myself crying over Pizza Girl’s emotions because I knew exactly what she was talking about and what she was going through. Frazier clearly put so much love and thought into the main character. The ending also left things untied and I loved how real that also made the book feel. Not everything can come to one satisfying ending, and some things may have to just be left undone for now. 

The only thing that I would have to complain about was how some of the relationships, especially with her boyfriend, didn’t feel as loved as the characters themselves. Sometimes, the bond between them even felt underdeveloped, as well as the relationship between her and her mother. 

Overall, I would rate this book 4.5/5 stars. I really enjoyed this book and not only was it a quick read, but it is also a good book for people who are looking to transition from YA novels to adult fiction, like myself.

After I had watched the first chapter of It, I had been anxiously waiting to have enough time to watch chapter two. The other night, when I was finally free I decided to sit back and watch it.

The movie is about the Losers' Club kids coming back to Derry after 27 years since Mike sent them all a call to remember their pact and come back. They all had forgotten about Pennywise and the adventures they had spent together, so Mike has to remind them all since he is the only one who remembers. After they all remember, Mike breaks it to them that It is back and hurting more kids. They all have to face their fears and fight Pennywise once again trying Mike's method first - the Ritual of Chüd.

I found the movie to be a little out of place to be honest. I liked it, but I did like the first one a lot more. I would give this movie a three star, which isn't a bad thing! I just felt like the movie took a bit of a different turn than the first one. One of the things that I really like about the movie is that they still kept Richie as the clown of the group. He's always cracking jokes and making everything more lighthearted. Richie has been my favorite character ever since the first time I saw him.

Even though I did kind of trash on the movie, I still liked it, I was just slightly disappointed and it wasn't what I was expecting. I am still excited to watch It (1990) especially with Tim Curry!

After saying that I would watch both the newer It movies from 2017 and 2019 and the 1990 miniseries for years now, I have decided to break down and finally watch them, starting with It (2017) since it had the highest rating on the IMDb website.

Personally, I would give this movie a four stars, but I would also consider maybe even a 3.5 stars just because I was expecting more of a horror factor, but instead we ended up with more of a suspenseful story. Which don't get me wrong, I still definitely enjoyed that! This movie is about a group of kids who call themselves "The Losers' Club." It's made up of six boys, Richie Tozier, Eddie Kaspbrak, Stanley Uris, Bill Denbrough, Ben Hanscom, and Mike Hanlon, and one girl, Beverly Marsh. You see these kids get taunted throughout the movie by "It," or as we learn the clown whose name is Pennywise the Dancing Clown. Bill is on a search for his little brother, Georgie, and his friends help him out only to find out that the person behind his brother's disappearance, along with many other kids' disappearances, was none other than It. You get to see all seven of the Losers become closer and go against Pennywise, their biggest enemy.

To the people who like horror, but don't enjoy the fright factor of some of the other well-known horror movies, It (2017) is a good fit for you! I would recommend this to these people because like I said earlier, this movie was more suspenseful with horror, rather than horror with suspense, but will still leave you a bit spooked afterwards.

Along with everything being said, I'm so happy that I finally broke down and decided to watch this movie, it was definitely worth it, I enjoyed this movie a lot! Can't wait to watch chapter two and the miniseries from 1990!

After looking at other people’s top 10 most gruesome Hannibal (NBC) deaths lists and disagreeing with them, I felt the need to make one myself. So, here is, in my opinion, the top 10 most gruesome deaths in the NBC show Hannibal.

10: episode 1.11 Rôti

I feel like this is a very minor death that many people probably forgot about after a day or two, but when I was looking through the episodes and scraping this list together, I was reminded of it and I am once again slightly disturbed. Something about tongues themselves gross me out, so just seeing his tongue poking out of his neck is even worse.

9: episode 1.02 Amuse-Bouche

And to think that this was only the second episode, my god. This is the episode that made me realize that what I was getting into, wasn’t going to be the most pleasant thing ever. But overall, I enjoyed this episode and I think that’s because it was so obscure and, at the time, I didn’t realize that the show would have many more obscure things such as this, but it definitely talked me into staying and watching the rest of the show!

8: episode 2.08 So-zakana

Lord, where do I even start with this one? It had not only a girl in the horse, but a bird in the girl. It was all certainly peculiar. That being said, I will admit, this one was probably one of my favorite episodes in season two, I’m not sure why, but it is definitely up there.

7: episode 1.09 Trou Normand

The human totem pole is definitely something that I think everyone would be grossed out by. It is literally a bunch of rotting human parts all tied together with a boy who was freshly killed to top it all off.

6: episode 1.08 Fromage

I think this one is pretty understandable, and I’m honestly giving it seconds thoughts with having it this low. I mean, the kid got a cello shoved down his throat so his killer, Tobias, could catch Hannibal’s attention, what isn’t gross about that. And, Tobias didn’t just kill this kid, he has also killed many victims before who were not mentioned, but were hinted at when you found out that the strings that were said to be made out of animal guts were actually made from humans.

5: episode 1.05 Coquilles

I think this one was probably the first one that I was like “holy shit!!” during. I remember seeing some other things before this episode that I thought were unpleasant and thinking that it couldn’t get any worse than that, but oh boy, how wrong I was.

4: episode 2.06 Futamono

I’ll be honest, this was definitely one of the more creative ones, I will give Hannibal credit for that. It was honestly the last thing I could’ve expected. Most, if not all, of the tableaus the killers in this show create always amaze me with how clever the writers of Hannibal must be. They obviously put quite a lot of thought into it.

3: episode 1.10 Buffet Froid

This one is mainly up so far because I felt that it could happen in real life and because I never actually got over the childhood fear of monsters being underneath my bed. This was probably my biggest fear for a while after I watched it. Plus, I feel that it is quite gruesome and is deserving of a place so high.

2: episode 2.05 Mukōzuke

Next is Beverly Katz’s death. This one was definitely hard to watch since Bev was one of my favorite characters and not only was it sad to see her die, but hard to look at with all of her insides showing. No matter who it is, I’d rather not see them in a state like this.

1: episode 2.02 Sakizuke

Number one for me is definitely James Gray’s mural made out of humans. I’m not sure whether it was the actual mural itself that got me on this one, or if it was the scene with Roland Umber ripping himself out of the mural that got me, but whichever one it was it got me good.
