â The first time Leon had called Kai, it had gone straight to voicemail, which, he could only guess it had been because the vampire was either busy or had forgotten to charge his phone. He tried again an hour later and it went through, thankfully. It rang a couple of times, before Kaiâs voice was heard on the other side of the line, making Leon smile as he held his phone between his shoulder and his cheek to make it easier to turn the page he had his eyes on. âHey uncle Kai. Is this a bad time? I can call you again later or maybe tomorrow if it is?â

Kai had not seen the missed call from Leon due to his cellular device losing charge. It was something Kai was still training himself to remember, that he needed to charge it one to two times daily. This had led him to leaving small notes in his usual paths to remember the device as well as to charge it so he would make it a habit in his routine. One of these notes reminded him to do just that and while it was charging heâd heard it ring again while he lounged with a new book. âMarhaba Leon, dear on. This is a fine time. How are you? Are you well, I hope?â Kai greeted his god child with a smile and the usual hint of worry he used with everyone he cared for.Â
