The crowd boos. I begin to walk off in shame, when a voice speaks and commands silence from the room.

He’s told he looks so much like her, that his precious element was once hers, that this woman who he can’t remember is his mother.

And after learning that small bit of his (supposed) past, he clings to it desperately, almost protective over the information like a child over their only toy.

And then he meets Ed and Edna. And Edna looks nothing like the woman he was told about. So her love and her care and her affection is not needed nor wanted. This woman is not his mother. He doesn’t need such lies and manipulation from a person who claims to know him again.

This woman, who once all those years ago raised him as her own, because he is her own, took him in and loved him as a mother should and cared for him like a parent does, is lost to him.
