A Window and A Light Bulb

How exciting it must have been to be one of the several contributing inventors of the light bulb and the at that time revolutionizing technologies.

Unfortunately the extremely long lasting light bulbs also resulted in planned obsolescence that unfortunately turned out to be a long lasting concept.

Details en masse

The only thing I am sure of is that the owner(s) do not strive for minimalism. I like that. Every part of this building makes an impression, triggers activity in my mind, makes me investigate several details. The most beautiful thing is that I am reminded about the history of the building. It is situated in a sector of the city that was completely levelled and modernized many years ago. It is happening again this time with extremely poor and uninspiring architechture. This spot reminds us of a past that was very alive some 50 years ago. A less polished past with eye candy everywhere.

The survivor

This house was here before you. This house will be here after you. It is certainly not a coincidence that people love living in it, love living around it and that it is a tourist magnet together with the surrounding city.

You need signs of organic life before wood, stone and metal works in architechture. And some details. It is a city for the living. Not an iPad interface.
