the depths of mahiros repression is truly really really funny and so real. shes so eager to be a girl and so eager to love girls and will act on it constantly, but she cant ever think about it or she freaks out and tries to go back into the egg. she flips back and forth between joyfully engaging with her girlhood and trying sooo hard to assert her alleged Totally Impenetrable Masculine Identity that she waltzes into affirming her girlhood so often. yes you are a lesbian sweetheart. you were so scared of becoming gay you didnt realize you became gay.
One thing I keep thinking about is how afraid Mahiro is of getting specifically “found out”. There’s zero way this could happen, but she still is terrified of being outed as being “really a guy” and experiencing transmisogyny specifically in the form of immediate accusations of being a disgusting pervert, etc.
Theres absolutely zero ambiguity. Mahiro is a trans girl, she’s just repressed.
hates her father realness
alot of you seem to think when i say "her" i mean falin

I don't think this is an appropriate response to an article about South Asian farmers losing their teeth because temperatures are now reaching 45 Celcius.
The average Tumblr blogger has such poor manners that even a pig would be embarrassed to bring them home to its mother.
After I suspected a climate connection to tooth decay, I conducted systematic saliva pH testing across my patient population and documented
okay so i think i found the article op's (and me in my tags) talking about. being exposed to over 40 celsius (120 farenheit or so) for the whole day means youre sweating a LOT (the article says rashid- the farmer at the centre of the text- drinks around 17 liters a Day. humans usually only need 3, so i presume the rest is mostly used for sweat). so much so that the organizm reroutes water from other parts of itself to not die of heatstroke - salivary glands included, which means that 1. they have very little saliva in comparison to a healthy human being 2. what little their bodies DO produce is incredibly acidic, falling to ~5.5 ph from the ideal of 7ph. Teeth dissolve. Quickly. There's a mention of someone losing 8 teeth in two years
im not reading the whole article now (headache -_-), but later on the author of the article says about 30 million people (employed in agriculture) are at risk for extreme dental health problems. 30 million people at risk of not being able to eat solid food. 30 million people at risk of not being able to find work. being able to marry. being able to be part of their community. being able to speak clearly
this is. fucking horrible feels like an understatement, but it is the best i have. this exceptionally, terribly inhumane, and the pakistan goverment's lack of a plan to adress this is embarassing
What I don't understand is how that tag is inappropriate. What is wrong about someone saying that they wish they could have used and shared this information earlier? Their phrasing was a bit flippant, but overall the general idea was "I wish I could have shared this with my classmates, who were also taking a class on this subject and therefore would also be interested in learning about this"
I can answer that for you and for everyone thinking the same.
Okay, imagine your family or your best friend is going through this right now. They're losing their teeth and hair because they've had to spend most of their time farming under the scorching sun. Do you understand where I'm going with this? Stay with me.
You're worried, so you write a blog post to tell your online friends and community what's happening.
Then someone comes along and says, "Hey, I could get a good grade in my class if I use the information you just shared!" without saying anything else. Without even an ounce of sympathy.
How would you feel if you saw that?
Now imagine you're already familiar with how impudently many people around the world have reacted to the suffering of your people. There are millions of people, both online and offline, who treat your people's suffering as nothing more than collateral damage simply because they live outside Europe and what the rest of the world calls the West.
Could you really respond positively when someone comes to you and says they want to use your suffering to get good grades or as material for their fiction which has happened here?
Do you understand that people living in the Global South are human too, and that they use social media just like everyone else?
I don't think it's inappropriate. Desmond Tutu first coined the term "adaptation apartheid" to describe countries' unequal ability to cope with climate change. It's a concept that later became widely known as "climate apartheid."

my number one advice for trans women both on this shitass platform and in real life is: you do not have to answer that question. people are so used to exploiting transfems' collective low self esteem that they will just expect you to answer questions that are best responded to with an openly disgusted stare. you do not have to answer these motherfuckers' questions. you don't owe anyone an explanation. "who do you think you are to ask me that" and "what makes you think that's an acceptable thing to say to me" are good, but most of the time you can just say nothing and look at them like they just offered you a spoon and a bowl of shit to eat. you'd be amazed how fast people start backtracking if you just say nothing and let their idiot question grow stale in the air
and needless to say you do not need to answer anons. yes this includes if they tell you everyone is saying something about you and can you explain. it is a trick. let them refresh your blog in vain
irl this doesn't work on people who have made up their minds to be openly hostile but it works on just about everyone else. most people have less-than-unshakable social confidence. practically everybody is secretly afraid of that moment where they realize they did something socially wrong. and no version of that moment is as jarring as when the flow of interaction just. ends. nobody is ready for the script to just stop. consequently, if you can project a passable lack of uncertainty during the brief, lurching silence that follows when you just don't respond to someone's weird question, in a way that is clearly deliberate, it only takes about 3-4 seconds at most before the other person will assume they fucked up bad even if they're not sure how. you just stare at them with perplexed disgust. they will backtrack and apologize. you still don't have to say anything. if you know them and you want to let them off with a warning, you can let them squirm for a second and then say "anyway," and change the subject like they were just being weird and you're doing them a favor. if you don't know them, or don't want to, just say say nothing, look at them like they're gross, and then ignore them
When I transitioned I was working at a coffee shop, and I had my nametag changed from MJ to Molly. Most people were chill about it (or cognizant enough to pretend they were chill about it), but I did have one guy who was a regular see the nametag, point, and laugh. He thought it was a joke. "You're name's not Molly!"
Now, luckily for him, there wasn't anyone else in the immediate vicinity, because after about three seconds of cold silence he shriveled took his drink and left. He didn't come back for two weeks, and when he did finally return, he was always certain to name and gender me correctly
abled people put a high price on any disability aids or accommodation and then wag their fingers about how disabled people are bourgeoisie. those are the only disabled people you see because the rest of us are confined to our houses or dead.
