Commander Shepard? My name is Kasumi Goto. I’m a fan.
Mass Effect: Aftermath has an official Roleplayer.me page!
Mass Effect: Aftermath is looking for characters!
Our rp recently had quite a few roles open up and we would love to have them filled! We are pretty lengthy writers, but we hope you still consider joining us because we are friendly and we really want to keep this rp going! If you have any questions feel free to ask!

So how does that even work?
kaidan-alenko-aftermath:
Well….if it was a mutual understand that cheating will most likely be involved, so that would be you would think I wouldn’t cheat to surprise you,Â
Which would mean I would HAVE to cheat to actually surprise you. Its a very complicated path we’re walking down my friend. K. Goto
(who needs a better way to spend her time)Â
So… By expecting you not to cheat in order to cheat… You’d have to cheat to cheat my expectations of you cheating by not cheating?
Okay, now my head kinda hurts (and not for the usual reasons)…
I guess the only real rule left would be the absence of rule then, huh?
Well, if you need a new hobby, I could always teach you how to cook. Unless you already know how…
Poker game?
Read any good book lately?
Kaidan
I'm actually a horrible cook, I can make a real good bowl of ramen, but that's about it. So how about you teach more cooking, and then I'll whip your biotic butt in a game of poker? Kasumi. Â
So how does that even work?
Hey Kasumi,
Found something in the old surveillance camera archives of the Normandy SR-2… Thought you might enjoy it.
I know I do. ; b
See what I was talking about? It’s all about speed, flexibility, and agility…
And borrowing your commanding officer’s clothes, apparently. Though I guess that Ashley’s skin-tight Alliance officer uniform back then wouldn’t have been as comfortable for a friendly sparring match. More distracting, sure. But Ash isn’t known to enjoy cheating… UNLIKE SOME. ; b
Anyway, it was nice talking to you. We should hang out more often.
KaidanÂ
p.s. The music is a little too loud for my taste, though. It’s probably better with the sound turned off.
Kaidan have I mentioned that you’re an ass. And by the way, CHEATING is half the fun.Â
K. Goto. Â
You know, I gotta ask though…
If there is a mutual understanding that cheating will most likely be involved…
Doesn’t cheating become sort of part of the rules, and therefore is no longer really considered cheating?
So, if you’d want to cheat and surprise your adversary, you’d have to avoid cheating?
Great, now I’ll be obsessing about how that works…
Kaidan
(who needs more coffee)

OOC: Killing time!
Hello lovelys! Kasumi here, and planning on spending the afternoon on Chatzy to kill some time. I promise I'm not cloaked if you want to come and play. ;-) <3 xoxoÂ
Headcanon #1
The Last Memory of Keiji Okuda The night before Keiji had gone to meet his ultimate demise with Donovan Hock he had spent with Kasumi. They had had dinner, and spent the night talking, Kasumi nervous and speaking quickly (even for her) the entire time. Before she had a chance to tell him what was on her mind, Keiji had calmed her with kisses and intimacy. She found out that he had died a week later, and went into an uncontrollable temporary downward spiral. She had found out that she was pregnant with Keiji's child, and never told him. Shortly before being contacted by Cerberus, Kasumi terminated the pregnancy. Even though she had never been interested in having children, she would have happily had Keiji's, but not without him. Â

Bar Time? (Closed: Garrus, Shepard, Kasumi).
When Shepard had awoke, she was surprised to find that the chronometers said it was early evening.  Stretching languidly in bed to rejuvenate tired and sore muscles, Jane Shepard turned to wrap an arm around the hardened carapace of her lover…  And found he was gone.  Her eyes narrowed just a bit.  He didn’t require as much sleep as humans -not that SHE really got a lot these days anyway- and so it was likely that he was out, taking care of some Primarch-y stuff.  Huh.  That was all right.  She now had some free time, and could hit up a place to eat, or maybe even have a drink.
Ever since it had been discovered that she’d survived the Crucible crashing -though just barely- Hackett was always trying to get her to show herself off in public.  The “Poster Child for the Alliance”, he’d called her.  Well, whatever.  She’d play along for the moment.  The Admiral had never said where to show herself, however.  And so, it wasn’t a huge surprise that Shepard found herself entering the bar roughly half an hour later.
What was surprising was that Garrus was already there, and it appeared… with Kasumi?  She found her lips curving into a smile.  Good.  She loved the little family she had forged with her crew, and was glad that they seemed to care as much about each other as she did about them.  Shepard hesitated just a moment, however…  What if they’d rather be by themselves?  What if they were discussing something that was private?  She tamped down on a little tiny surge of jealousy.  Not at Kasumi, per se.  But at the thought that Garrus would rather be with someone else.  But no.  She couldn’t allow herself to think that  way.  She would simply go up to them, and if they preferred to be alone, she’d find somewhere else to drink.  Perfect idea.
She was still quite far from them when Garrus whipped his head around, pinpointing her as if he’d known she was there the entire time.  Shepard felt her cheeks heat- smell.  Of course.  Damned Turians and their damned heightened predator senses.  His words reverberated in his flanging voice, the subharmonics resonating mirth.  Oh, he was going to pay.
“Yes, Garrus.  I did decide to leave the bed.  I came to deliver something blue… you forgot it.”  She gave him a wicked smirk, then turned to Kasumi, smiling and winking.  ”Goto…  Long time no see.  Glad to see you in one piece.”
"I snatch them out of boredom Garrus, not challenge." She said before grinning as her old commander stepped up to join them. "I mean - no. I am absolutely not stealing Shep." Kasumi gestured to the drinks before them and moved the the next stool over so Jane could take the seat next to her turian. "Your boyfriend is trying to talk me into finally putting Keiji to rest. A few more drinks and he honestly might have me convinced, I blame you for this. If you hadn't had Liara go poking into me, you never would have noticed Kasumi Goto was dead." She said with a fake irritation in her voice and a smile. She took a second to give Garrus a small knowing look, one that clearly said, 'We'll talk later.'Â Â Taking a moment to recenter herself she ordered another drink and spun around her stool. "I suppose you're here to help him convince me its time, next thing I know you'll be trying to tell me to stop cloaking every where I go!" Â
The Bar Job (Closed: Kasumi/Aethyta)
Aethtya just laughed and then took a long drink from her flask. The straight life was definitely boring as shit, she couldn’t blame the kid for that. Retirement might just have been one of the stupidest decisions she had ever made. And retiring by disappearing had definitely been stupid. The Matriarchs, it turned out, could in fact still be mad at her three years later. Who knew?
“Hun, I’m a bartender. Drinking on the job is practically in the job description.” Aethyta snorted and took another drink before putting the flask back under the counter. For almost a millennia she had hopped from posting to posting, mostly in bars and other dingy little shops where all the galaxy’s lowlifes could be found. A few times she had infiltrated criminal organizations, but that was usually more risk than victory.
“You’ve been trying to live it straight? Me too. Sucks.”
Kasumi's eyes glowed from under the hood and flashed Aethyta a small smile. "I'm beginning to regret making the decision to do it. It's probably why I take these little....side jobs now and again, it's not to keep my skills sharp, god knows I don't need that, and it sure as hell isn't the money. I'm just bored." She sighed and took another drink from her glass before leaning back on her stool. "And you honestly don't look like the 'living it straight type'." She took a head to toe glance at her new acquaintance. "It looks like its suiting you about as well as it's suiting me."Â

The Bar Job (Closed: Kasumi/Aethyta)
Aethyta looked completely unimpressed, except for the slightest ghost of a smile at the corner of her mouth. She remembered that feeling of bravado and superiority, the confidence that came from knowing she could disappear within a matter of minutes. Technically, she still could. Those skills were all still present. Now it was just a matter of staying disappeared; without the support and resources of the Matriarchy it could be hard to stay gone in a galaxy as technologically advanced as this one. And she barely understood half the tech these kids were using today.
Her eyes widened as she was addressed by name. Now just when the hell had she gotten so damn recognizable? This had to be the kid’s fault.
“I remember you now. You are another one of those kids that ran with Shepard.” She nodded and pulled a flask out from under the bar. A long drink made her feel better, but not as good as she would if it were booze, but at least this way it kept her image up. Staying sober while working in a bar was hell. “That’s sweet of you to say, but hell if he hadn’t been parked at the bar I probably wouldn’t have noticed.” That wasn’t true, but it was true that she probably wouldn’t have cared. Mr. Sato spent a lot of money in this bar.
“So what’s a smart kid like you doing working as a thief?”
Kasumi grinned. "I wouldn't be full-filling my reputation if I didn't keep stealing things. I can't exactly be a master thief without thieving. Besides, the straight and narrow..." She hesitated slightly. Life as Akira was downright painfully boring at times. She worked during the day in the shop, and then came home, alone to her empty apartment. Occasionally she would see an old friend, but mostly, her life was quiet, and lonely, and it pained her to admit that to herself, as quickly as the hesitation happened, she forced a grin back on her face. "Should you be drinking on the job?" Â
