Down with the ship

Fans have been making theories about things Arashi did after Ohno made clear he wanted to be free from Arashi for awhile (I found myself randomly bursting into tears this past 40 hours 😭), like UB is a message to Ohno and stands for Until Back, with their VERY blue sweaters (I like this theory), so here’s a theory of my own about the concept design of their 5x20 penlight (revealed after their definitive decision to go on hiatus in June 2018). Just for fun 😊.

1. It has 5 ‘sides’. But instead of a pentagon, it’s 4 sided with a ‘side’ inside the 4 sides. I think this resembles 4 members of Arashi with the one member they want to protect.

2. The ‘side’ inside is placed diagonally enabling it to touch/meet with all 4 sides. That one member will always be connected to every member in Arashi.

3. The top part is closed off (unlike Untitled penlight which is meant to resemble a glass), symbolizing their unity, they are one and whole.

4. The whole structure is twisted, which I think wants to convey 4 members embracing that one member in their care. They are all connected.

Arashi behind curtains = Arashi in private, the Arashi we as fans don’t get to see

Arashi dancing in shadows and behind curtains = The relationships they have with people outside their public duties, personal relationships that fans don’t see and don’t know about.

Woman = represents someone in their private lives, but with mirrors = people in their private lives, multi angles of their private lives.

Curtains : unstable things, it ripples and moves

Arashi projected on curtains = The Arashi we see aren’t ‘fixed’ personalities. We see them, but we don’t see the real them. A facade, a cover of their true selves.
