Always coupled with not so tough love. If you’ve got someone who’s using you to maintain their life of sin, it’s ok to withdraw financial or social support.

Don’t be an enabler for their misbehavior. 

But always offer other help. Offer spiritual help. Offer friendship. Offer advice or prayer or transportation or something. Don’t just turn your back. 

One example might be someone who has been regularly taking your money claiming to need it for food or clothing, and ends up using it for drugs or alcohol. It might be appropriate to stop giving them money but instead offer to pay for counseling or rehab. Or offer to give them a place to stay as long as they are faithful to come to church with you. Or offer transportation to and from their job if they promise to never miss a shift.
