- DRINK WATER!!!! Lots of it. More than you think you need. Use a metal water bottle to keep it cold. If it’s not cold, put ice in it.

- A good way to cool down your face and other exposed body parts is to put water on them (via a spray bottle or your hands) and then fan it off. The heat transfers to the water and then to the air going by and it can be a pretty dramatic effect

- You can also wet a t-shirt with cold water and put it around your neck

- When outside, protect yourself from the sun with a hat (the wider-brimmed the better) and sunglasses

- Dress as light as you can. Tank top and shorts.

- Stay inside in air conditioning as much as you can. If you don’t have it in your house, see if you can find a public building that does (though I don’t know how many public buildings have it in different places)

- If you have a basement, head down there, it will be cooler.

- If you don’t have access to any of that, get in water. A pool, a lake, a river, the ocean. If you can’t do that, get in the shower and put the water on cold.

- wet washers and/or fill them with ice cubes from the freezer. Put the wet cloth on the back of your neck, behind your knees, elbows, wrists, and your groin.

- if you need to go outside, wear sunscreen. You can last longer in the heat if you're protected from the uv

- if you spend the day in the pool, remember to protect yourself from the sun and DON'T get dehydrated. Otherwise you can get heat exhaustion after you leave the water.

- if there is no wind, or the wind is hot, close all the windows and pull down the blinds/curtains. Make your house as dark as possible. Hide from the sun.

- drink powerade/gatorade or anything else with electrolytes. If you don't have that, then drink soft drink or juice. If you don't have that, eat fruit or lollies. Keep your sugar levels up.

These are things that need to remain in proportion with water, so when you drink tons of water, they get out of balance and you need to replenish them. If you find yourself at the end of a hot day with a headache even when you’ve been drinking water all day, it’s probably this.

- potassium

little write up on some adrian disability thoughts as ive been watching the show!

my headcannon is that all sentimonsters are in some way disabled (kagami is deaf and uses a talker, felix has eds, etc) and part of the conflict with their guardians that specifically kagami and adrien have are that kagami and adrien are beautiful, smart, funny, kind, compassionate, creative, willing to learn and grow, the epitome of children anyone would want, but they're also disabled in a way that needs help, constant help, and tomoe and gabriel didnt want to put effort into this fantasy theyd constructed or give these wonderful kids the help theyd need to be what they wanted them to be, so their kids are haunted by the ghosts of what perfect meant to their parents.
