Hello, Tumblr. Been a while.

Update: I got a new job that I’m scheduled to start in June and it’s actually a great opportunity for me to move forward in my career. My wife and I are moving from Utah to Connecticut soon. This has all been so insanely stressful and my mental health has been in shambles for a long time now, but I’m hoping that getting in with a new psychiatrist once we move will finally show some progress.

I know that these things are all just a part of life for many people, but I want to thank everyone that checked up on me or even just had me in their thoughts. I’ve always found the care and support in this fandom to be so incredible and I think I carried some of that strength with me, even when I wasn’t around. I’m not exactly sure when, but I’ll be back. Hopefully soon. I miss all you aca-nerds.

Update: Started my new job today and I’m spending the week in Massachusetts for onboarding. All I did was fill out some paperwork and stare at my computer screen for a million and one training presentations (I’m also only halfway done ugh), but everyone seems nice so I guess I’m off to a solid start. It feels very good to be employed again. Fingers crossed things keep looking up.

Hello at 3:37 AM tumblr.

Been so long since I’ve been on this late and it’s never good.

It’s been 47 days since I’ve last worked and things have been rough. I’ve put in so many applications but I’ve only had a handful of interviews. Unemployment isn’t enough to cover our bills and our insurance ended on January 31st. I’ll run out of my bipolar, anxiety, and insomnia meds soon and I don’t know how I’ll handle that. I’ve been on medication to keep myself afloat since 2017 and the idea of living without them, even if only temporarily, is beyond scary. It’s terrifying.

I’m not sure what this post is even for. It’s actually fine if no one ever sees it. Maybe it’ll help me manifest something good or maybe it will just feel nice to put all of this this out into the anonymous open of the internet. I really just need something positive.
