My college roommates are two of my closest friends. In fact, we even graduated high school together.
One of them had pretty bad anger issues at times. He would talk about doing some pretty serious things like rape and murder and would make an attempt to joke about them. Eventually, it didn’t really seem like he was joking as much as he was being serious.
That is when my other roommate and I decided to step in and say something. We talked to him about some of the things he had been saying and talked about how it wasn’t funny. We discussed the effects that saying things like this could have on his relationships and even on how he really viewed things.
I love him like a brother, and because of that, I couldn’t sit back and watch him do something that could ruin his life and the lives of others. In the end, he ended up treating girls differently and stopped acting like he was going to do violent things.
