OH MY GOD IF I DON’T EVER REBLOG THIS IT’S PROBABLY BECAUSE I’M DEAD

Her name is Doris. Here’s the artist. And here’s more Doris:
I have a physical need to reblog this every time.
I’ve skipped chapters Kidney Disease and Breast Cancer to get to this post on “How Not To Die from Suicidal Depression” *(but I’d rather call it “How Not To Feel Like Shit”). This chapter was the reason why I opened my husband’s book and dusted it off from the table, why I chose to read a snippet and then immediately dived into reading the entire “How Not to Die” book from the beginning. I needed to know that there was something to do, something I could do. Of course professional-medical help is strongly advised, and there’s no straight forward solution, but if you’re looking for something, anything just to fight back on depression, these are some scientifically proven methods to help… (with no negative side effects!) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ [For more info, —> Michael Greger M.D. ’s “How Not to Die” : Discover the Foods Scientifically Proven to Prevent and Reverse Disease]

Hearing the tragic news about Kate Spade made me pull out my beloved Kate Spade purse from storage to wear in remembrance of her. However, when pulling it out I realized, why did I even put this white bag in the closet in the first place? Yes, I wanted to keep it clean. Yes, it was expensive so I wanted to keep it in good condition. But at what cost? Now it has a thick layer of dust (even though it was in its storage bag???) and has stains from the handle being pushed against the body of the sedentary bag for so many years. Why did I hide its beauty and not enjoy it longer from when I first received it? I do this, this strange habit of hoarding beloved items, that is detrimental to myself and prevents me from the happiness I’ve thrown a blanket over. (What is the use of keeping a hidden toy pristine that I loved when I was 5, only to look at it again at 15 and find no use for it? …And then again to throw it away at 25?… Why, Wendy, Why… ) This self-reflection led me to think about what else I’ve hidden from my community. The best parts of me? Encouragement for others? Being positive because it takes too much energy? I will—am, going to enjoy beauty and the beautiful things in life when I can and not wait. Let’s share the beautiful things in life with each other and not wait for it to pass us by, not lose the opportunity to love others in the present, thinking that we have the future ahead of us.

An early mother’s day post dedication. In her younger years she was an airline stewardess and during that time in Taiwan, it was a rare thing to travel by air and explore distant lands. She valued the opportunity and in turn also instilled in me the love to travel adventurously and the instincts to survive independently in foreign lands. Cheers! Love you mom, wish I could be with you during this Mother’s day! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #PPSuperimposed #Passionpassport #Taiwan #travelnotebook #digitalpainting
