Magneto didnât want to see anyone. Not even the ones he considered his friends. H was keeping himself in a room for almost a week, if it wasnât more time. His hand runed through the reddish beard he let grow without shaving for a few days, he was holding the metal helmet with his other hand, the one that once belonged to the man who murdered his mother behind him for not moving a small coin. Sometimes he wondered if things would have been different if he had moved the coin, but then he realised those men were Nazis. They didnât know the word âcompassionâ. Magneto didnât know it either, he didnât hesitate when he left his best friend and probably the only person who really trusted in on the beach on Cuba, and the man still considered his friend. No, he was Erikâs friend. Magneto doesnât have friends. Magneto doesnât trust anyone.
Magneto put the helmet on his head. The helmet represented everything he hated, though he didnât know why he didnât want to stop wearing it. Protection against telepaths was only an excuse. The helmet represented the difference between Erik and Magneto. Erik still had family, a friend and something to fight for, while Magneto didnât care about anyone else than the mutant rights and his own interests. While Erik could still feel compassion for humans, Magneto wanted to eradicate them. Erik loved Pietro, Wanda, Lorna, his friend Charles, and even Magda. Magneto only loved himself. Magneto was him. Erik died in Cuba when he killed Shaw. Erik didnât exist anymore.
"Ich bin Magneto." He said, standing up and looking at himself in the mirror. His disheveled look along with the helmet made him look different. Darker.
