He should not have let Clark have that little piece of vindication, he really shouldnât have. Now heâs all happy and proud and blushing and ugh. Why. Bruce canât look at him and his stupid bumbling Clarkness.
If Bruce had bothered to check his emtional state, he mightâve been a little alarmed as to why he was trying so hard to troll Clark. But as it was⌠âOh donât bother yourself, Lucious will handle it.â Which the poor sap actually will. âAs for whether you get treat of Bruce Wayneâs quality timeâŚonly if you say yes to Italian.â Then Bruce, the suave self assured jackass that he was, pulled out his phone and started dialing right there with a smirk on his face.
Clark couldnât help how much he blushed under Bruceâs admiration and love of his articles. Not many people like his views on justice or how he seemed to always try and find a story that meant something. He knew some of the other leaguers couldnât figure just why he picked a person that was the complete opposite of him in every way.
He Smirked a bit just for Bruce to see â Lucious, is a very great asset to your company if he is always acting in your stead. Maybe a gift would be nice for him donât you think Mr. Wayne?â He couldnât help the return of his blushes at the otherâs invitation. â So eager to go out with me Mister Wayne, I hardly mind eating Italian, In fact, itâs been a while since Iâve had it at all..I must say being wined and dinned maybes me wonder if you skip those meeting on purpose just to hang out with me?âÂ
Oh, Clark. He was blushing again. How absolutely ridiculous. And adorable. He did not just think that. His must really getting later age if heâs finding just interest in simplicity. Bruce shoved the thoughts out of his head and tried to focus on trying taking the call. âYes,â he told the receptionist. âThe usual spot, please. Today yes. Thank you.â Click.
He cocked his head to side and eyed Clarkâs gleeful little smirk. âIâd like to think so. Otherwise, Iâd have picked and overpayed a badly chosen CEO.â The seriousness of the comment was quickly broken by the grin he let slip through. âBut Iâll think of something,â he added with a wink. âAs for my skipping the meeting on purpose...well letâs just say Iâm not at a liberty to disclose that in a newsroom. It would do badly on my reputation.â Yeah, that reputationâs heâs constantly deliberately running into the ground. âBut you are good company Mr. Kent. Least from what Iâve heard from Ms. Lane.â
