Captured with the Sigma DP2M compact. A little slow in operation but produced images that got some breathing medium format ... its raw files, not jpegs.

Taken at a distance of about 10 meters away at the equivalent focal length of about 700mm.

The rose was a bit desaturated in the original image. So colour was intensified in post to get this final image.

Lighting was pretty dim here where the staff were working on this prop under a drape. Nell had the ISO pushed up to 6400 for this shot. The resultant double digit noise level was fixed in post.

Nell had captured this at the 1200mm (equivalent) end of the lens of the ten-year old Panasonic FZ200. Details were good out of the 1/2-inch sensor although not quite there compared to larger sensors.

This Sansevieria succulent looked more dead than alive and it is apparently this natural look that keeps predators away. This was captured 1-1/3 stops darker to retain plant texture. Dark and mid-tones were then darkened further in post to get this image.

Exposure here was biased darker 1-1/3 stops to preserve details and to darken out distracting background foliage. In post, a little 'burning' was applied to some bright background foliage on the upper left corner of the image to better direct focus onto the cactus.

This was set against foliage in the shade with the exposure biased darker by just 2/3 stop. A slow lens was used here but the lighting was good enough.

Although there was decent dynamic range, exposure was still biased darker 1-1/3 stops to keep flower textures just to be on the safe side. Image was then exposed to the right in post.

Shooting through the wire mesh, I went as near to the cage as the barrier would allow. And I was already using a full-frame camera, so this was the next best thing I could do with a slow lens.

Exposure for this was biased darker by 1-1/3 stops to keep feather details. Image was then exposed to the right in post.

This snapshot just needed a 1-2/3 stop underexposure to preserve sky highlights as the sensor dynamic range was decent enough. In raw conversion, 'vibrance' was used to enhance saturation. Cyan and blues of the sky were then intensified in post.

Nell had captured this with the exposure biased darker by a stop. This helped preserve the highlights and darken away distracting foliage in the background. In post, the image was then exposed to the right.
