Making the best out of a bad situation.

I bought a deceased sun conure off of a fellow taxidermist back in 2022 with the intent of mounting it for my own collection. Everything seemed to be going well as I skinned and fleshed the bird, but it all fell apart when it came time to mount it—literally!

Feathers slipped off the hide like water off a duck’s back. I was dissapointed, but ultimately thankful that this hadn’t’ve happened to one of my customer’s birds.

I tossed the rest of the conure but couldn’t stand to let its beautiful wings and tail go to waste. I posed them and set them up to dry, safely tucked away on a shelf…which I then promptly forgot about until yesterday 😅

I had a moment inbetween cleaning euros to sneak out of the house and purchase a shadow box, finally able to put this three year old project to rest!

Fun fact in my au, connie doesnt exist in the same place as the others! Think like gaster from undertale type situation, except for hes still able to see what theyre doing at all times from little gaps in the in between.

The in between is where connie is stuck at, its called the in between because hes able to see both places of 1 where the long quiet and shifting mound and princesses live and then the other world where the voices were sent to!

I'm not sure how long this bird project has been in the works, but we’ve finally reached bird number 15! And while this Sun Conure might be a bit late to the party, that certainly doesn’t make them any less special.
