Lawrence is an experiment by the Cortex Commandos to produce a self aware and sentient AI. While this experiment was successful, Neo Cortex ordered he be decommissioned out of emotional immaturity and being unable to nurture Lawrence’s newfound emotion.

However, he was found by the spirit of pleasure, Poko, who took. upon himself to reinvigorate Lawrence with the gift of magic. Now reawakened, Lawrence now roams the island in an endless journey of knowledge, reconciliation with his father, Brio, and finding out what it truly means to be a person.

[He looked down at Lani, and simply gave him a thumbs up. He inched a bit closer to the birds nest, before carefully taking the notebook into his hand. He felt his pocket for a pencil. He sheepishly looked down at Lani.]

….Lani, you wouldn’t happen to have a pencil on you, would you…?

I can give you a pencil if you agree to come down here! Where it’s safe!

I can’t! It took me 20 minutes to get up here!

[He wobbled, grabbing onto the branch. The notebook fell into the bushes before.]

Ah—! Darn it..!

Oh! I’ll get that!

(Lani rushed over to retrieve the notebook, afterwards materializing a pencil for Lawrence to use)

I just don’t want you getting hurt up there! (He said as he floated the objects up to Lawrence)

Don’t worry Lani, I’ll be—

[As he reached for the objects, the branch cracked.]

Uh oh.

[The branch snapped, causing him fall to the bushes.]

AaaaAAAAHH!! (THUD!)

OH MY GOODNESS GRACIOUS!!

(Lani rushed towards Lawrence as fast as possible)

Are you hurt!? Do you need help!? Speak to me!!!

[He stood up, his head detached from his body.]

Do I look okay?

[His head kept talking, nestled in the bush.]

(He started hyperventilating faster and faster until finally fainting to the ground)

[As he leaned down to grab his head, and eagle swooped down and snatched it up.]

i dont think the ‘21 one is canon anymore though, as much as Brio And Bandicoots Happy Family means to me, bc its more interesting narratively if the bandicoots still don’t trust uncle brio at this point in time (and the crash coco tawna and aku in that pic didn’t represent any specific roleplayers anyway). hes met some instances of them who are ok with him but they come and go and he hasn’t actually gotten Profoundly Close with any of them
