location: the booze barn

It wasnât his first shift, but Sequoia hadnât been working at the Booze Barn for more than a week or two. He liked the job so far, and it was definitely helping with meeting some of the town folk as well. It seemed like heâd only known Deacon before this point, and even then it had been years since heâd seen the guy.
They were just approaching last call, and Quoia was cleaning up a bit behind the bar when he noticed someone taking a seat at the bar. Putting on his best fake customer service grin, he slung the towel over his shoulder, and moved to the bar. âWhat can I get you?â He chimed, a happier tone than anyone who knew him well outside of work wouldâve been used to.

âSorry you had to see that.â Luke offered as he slid his shirt over his chest. He was soaking wet, and the person he was talking to had just caught him walking out of the duck pond at the park. âSome kid lost their toy so I tried to get it, but the geese had other plans.â Explained he, glancing over to some very ruffled geese at the edge of the pond that he could only imagine were planning his demise.
Being out in nature was something Sequoia loved, though just looking at him it would not be something one would assume. He was sat on a bench near the lake and had watched the whole event go down. It was admittedly entertaining to watch, and not a bad view either. He shrugged a bit at the other, he was definitely not sorry he got to see that. âGeese are evil.â He mused softly. âAlways have been, always will be.â
WHERE: anywhere tbh. but more than likely outside of a bar.
WHO: open. [ @madison-startersâ ]
âSeriously? Again?â Edieâs palm smacked loudly against the window of her car, her other hand pulling with futility against the locked handle. She groaned and peered inside, the shiny, silvery glint of her keys winking at her from where they sat, nestled in the front seat. As if mocking her. âMother fââ she cursed her car, raising a hand to smack against the window in frustration before she thought better of it, head swiveling around to survey just how dire her situation really was. She couldnât afford a locksmith. Not again. She could, howeverâŚÂ âHey!â she called to the outline of a figure shrouded mostly in shadow. âIf I give you twenty bucks, will you break into my car?â
Taking a long drag from his cigarette, Sequoia had been watching what was happening for a bit before the stranger had called to him. Heâd just gotten off his shift at the Booze Barn and thought heâd have a cigarette before hopping in his car to go home. Though it seemed his trip was going to be a bit derailed. He dropped the cig and crushed it under his heel before heading over to where she stood. âKeep your twenty bucks.â He mused apathetically as he walked to his truck, conveniently parked, not too far away, and grabbed some things from the back before walking back. He spotted the keys sitting on her front seat and raised an eyebrow. âHowâd you manage that one?â @edie-bennettâ
Ximena walked out of the grocery store, her head turning to look over at the older gentleman that passed by her and made a comment under his breath. Her eyebrows furrowed together as she moved her hand into the brown bag, pulling out the block of cheese. âThat wasnât nice,â she murmured as she brought the wrapped block of cheese up to her mouth, moving the wrapper between her teeth, trying to tug it open as her eyes lifted up to see someone looking at her. â- cheese comforts me, okay?â
A trip to the store in his mind should be short and quick, with little to know interruptions. But when he heard the small voice, Sequoia looked back and forth to see if there was anyone around that sheâd presumably be talking to before realizing it was in fact him. âOkay?â He retorted. He hadnât asked so he wasnât sure why she was so keen on sharing. In most cases he wouldâve walked away, but there was something in his gut telling him to ask, âWhy the comfort cheese?âÂ

do they have a least favorite holiday? Why?Â
March 3rd. Iâve never been big on celebrating my birthday. My immediate family never made birthdays a big deal, so it kind of weirds me out when people make a big to do about their birthdays.
why madison?
If you take a look at all the places Iâve visited in my life, âWhy Madison?â is the question a lot of people ask me. But you see, Madison is the only constant place Iâve had in my life. My grandparents have lived here for as long as I can remember, and Iâd always come visit them in the summers. My grandmother recently passed, and months after my grandfather followed. They left the house to me. So, now itâs home.
do they have a favorite thing? outfit, cup, food⌠describe it, and why is it their favorite? My favorite thing?Â
Probably my hat. Iâve got a few hats that I like to wear, but one in particular that gives real Indiana Jones vibes. It was a gift from my dad, and I think that alone makes it pretty special. Iâm just glad that over the years Iâve finally grown into it.
what is something theyâve always wanted in life?
Growing up, Iâve gotten the chance to experience many cultures, and cuisines. My parents traveled constantly for work, and they brought my brother and I along with them everywhere. For the longest time Iâve wanted to have my own food truck. A place thatâs mine where I can kind of do my own thing, try out some new recipes, and have some fun.

Sequoia can be rather apathetic about things. It usually drives people crazy, but heâs okay with it. He does turn on his âcustomer serviceâ charm whenever necessary. He knows itâs completely fake, but he âs pretty good about making it seem real. Sequoia is very go with the flow, and would rather go along with otherâs suggestions, than suggesting anything himself, because in all honesty he doesnât care what they do.Â

â Deacon James: When Sequoia came to visit his Grandparents in Madison each summer, he became acquainted with the boy who lived next door, Deacon. They have kept in touch a bit over the years, and Sequoia is admittedly happy to know heâs returning to a town with a familiar face.
