you’re just about to get ready for bed, cleaning up your kitchen and putting away leftovers from dinner. as you’re washing your hands, your phone buzzes. you glance over, seeing a text from keeho.

‘hi (name)! seobie’s been in his studio all day and we want to go to dinner 😓 can you come get him??’

you frown, realizing that’s why you haven’t heard from your boyfriend all day.

‘i’ll pay for you at dinner!!!’

you let out a huffed laugh as you read his message.

‘ok! i’ll be over in 5’

you write back, pocketing your phone and quickly putting on your shoes and a jacket. thankfully, you lived pretty close to the fnc building and are able to take a quick walk to it.

in the lobby, you meet up with keeho who takes you to jongseob’s studio. he tells you about the practices jongseob missed today and how he wasn’t talking to any of them. “we thought about calling you earlier, but didn’t want to bother you. but we’re confident you can get him out of there,” keeho says, exasperated.

you smile, though your heart races, wanting to help him, yet knowing how your boyfriend gets stuck to his work. “i’ll do what i can,” you say, mustering up as much confidence as you can. keeho pats your shoulder as a quick “good luck” before leaving.

you sigh, knocking gently on jongseob’s door. you hear some movement on the other side of the door before it opens. there, stands your disheveled and obviously exhausted boyfriend. your heart breaks, seeing him look so miserable.

when jongseob’s eyes meet yours, they widen slightly, his cheeks flushing in what you assume is embarrassment.

“(name)? hey,” he says, gently trying to rub the sleep out of his eyes. “you okay?” he asks.

“hm? yeah. i’m fine, baby, but the boys and i are worried about you. you’ve been in your studio all day,” you reply, reaching out to grab his hand.

jongseob frowns, pulling you into his studio. “i just need to finish this one part..” he mumbles, sitting back in his chair. “then we can go to dinner. that’s what the boys want, right?” he asks, peaking over his shoulder at you.

you nod. “yeah. we want to go to dinner with you,” you say, leaning over to wrap your arms around his shoulders from behind. “why can’t you take a break?” you ask.

jongseob sighs, leaning back in his chair and into you. “i just… can’t get it right,” he rests his head on your arm, clicking around aimlessly on his computer. “i’ve been working on it.. all day… and it just doesn’t sound right.”

you frown, watching his cursor move around the computer, opening and closing tabs. “you need a break,” you say, voice gentle and kind. “you’re just going to make yourself feel worse if you keep working with this mindset.”

jongseob looks up at you, obviously wanting to protest. but, he sighs, nodding his head. “okay,” he breathes, pushing himself up from his chair as you let him go. “we’re going to dinner?” he asks, stretching.

you smile and nod, reaching to grab jongseob’s hand. “mhm,” you hum, leading him out of his studio while he grabs his things. “the boys should be waiting for us downstairs.”

after a calm, fun night, you’re walking home with your boyfriend, hand and hand.

“thank you,” jongseob says, his voice quiet. he bumps into you playfully. “i needed someone to pull me out of there.”

you laugh, squeezing his hand. “you know i’ll always be there to make you take a break,” you remind him. “you work yourself too hard.”

“i know,” jongseob smiles shyly. “i just love what i do,” he sighs. “but.. i was in there too long.”

you smile. “i know.. and you’re doing great. but you need to eat dinner,” you tease, loving the way he grins at you.

you’d be more than happy to remind your boyfriend to come home when he’s working too hard. you don’t mind persuading him to take a break, knowing it’s better than him ultimately burning out. then, you can have sweet moments with him like this.

Synopsis: Seungkwan got incredibly drunk and told his groupmates all about his crush. lucky for him though, he's already dating him

Drunk and In Love

Seungkwan, Hoshi, Dk and Vernon were going out for a few drinks, nothing harmful, just a little bit of a break after these past few weeks. Vernon had been voted the designated driver for that night, so he drove around to pick everyone up. Seungkwan was the last on his list, and as Vernon pulled up to your house, he saw you fixing Seungkwan’s shirt, and most likely scolding him or giving him rules for the night. The correct answer was number two.

“Be safe, be careful, don’t drink too much, don’t come back home on the verge of throwing up, don’t walk off while you’re drunk and Vernon can’t find you” you said, droning on and on with your silly little rules

“I’m an adult, I can handle myself babe” Seungkwan said annoyed. It’s not that he hated you caring for him, it’s just the fact that he’s very capable of handling himself, he doesn’t need you nagging him “You got lost at Walmart last week” you said deadpan and Seungkwan sputtered while pushing himself away from you “I-it was a big Walmart!”

“Sure honey, sure” you said before grabbing him by his collar to kiss him. Seungkwan grabbed your shoulders and let out a sigh as you deepened the kiss. Maybe he could just stay home? It’s just drinks, it’s not like he can’t go another day. Seungkwan’s hands moved from your shoulders to your waist, and just as he was about to push you back inside the house, DK and Vernon decided to ruin his night. Vernon honked his car horn, startling the two of you, while Dokyeom decided to just be loud

“As much as I’m enjoying you two make out, I want to go get drinks tonight!! Also hi Y/N” DK said, waving his hands wildly at you. “Hi Seokmin” you said with a laugh, blowing him a kiss

“Don’t do that. Only I get those. You’ll make him think your friends or something” Seungkwan said grumpily and you laughed. You and DK were the fastest friends out of all of the members, and Seungkwan hated it

“We are friends Seungkwan” “No. You’re acquaintances. He’s not allowed to be friends with you” Seungkwan said with a pout. He didn’t like how close you were with DK. Not because he was afraid of any cheating going on, but because he was afraid you two would end up doing dumb things together and then end up in jail. And then laugh about it. That is what he was afraid of.

“Acquaintances of over eleven years baby?” “Yes, Acquaintances of over eleven years. I don’t like-“ but Seungkwan never got to finish

“Are you coming or are you just going to stand there all night?!” Hoshi yelled from the back seat of the car and Seungkwan rolled his eyes

“I’m coming, damn!”

“Tick tock!” Vernon yelled with a grin and Seungkwan groaned

“I’ll be back home safe, promise” “Promise promise?” You said, lifting your eyebrows, and Seungkwan sighed “Promise promise” he held his pinky out and you linked yours with his. He kissed you one last time, then ran to the car

“I didn’t just see you make a pinky promise with your boyfriend did I, or am I crazy” “Shut up, I promised him I’d come home safe. You wouldn’t understand the importance of that as a single person” Seungkwan said, sticking his tongue out and Vernon glared at him. Hoshi was doing his very best to keep in a laugh, and DK had his mouth hung open

“I should leave you on the side of the road” Vernon said irritated “I’d tell Y/N, and then he’d come after you, and you’d be getting scolded for three days straight, and we all know you’d hate that” “Just shut up and put your seatbelt on Seungkwan” Vernon said rolling his eyes, and finally Hoshi just let out a laugh

“Oh he got you good Hansol” “I’ll leave you on the side of the road too” “It’s okay Vernon, I’ll be your partner for the night” DK said with a grin and Vernon gave him a side eye

“Sorry, I don’t have the time to take care of a hyperactive dog” “You did not just call me a dog” DK said with an offended gasp and Hoshi started laughing harder

“Don’t laugh! It’s not funny! Seungkwan, help me” “I think you’d make for a very beautiful dog Seokmin” “I hate all of you” DK said, crossing his arms and pouting in his seat

“Love you too Seokmin” the three other men in the car said in sync

Seungkwan probably should have listened to those rules. He’d been at the bar for about a little bit over an hour and he was gone. Wasted. Completely out of it. DK had tasked Vernon with keeping Seungkwan safe after about thirty minutes of the four of them being there, because he could tell his friend was not going to make it. Vernon had been keeping an eye on Seungkwan for most of the night. Most of it. Because he turned around for thirty seconds and Seungkwan was gone. Oh you were going to kill him. Hoshi was on the verge of crying in a corner, while DK was trying to comfort him, while also being buzzed himself, so those two were no help in his chase to find your boyfriend. None.

“Have you two seen Seungkwan?” “I thought he was with you?” DK asked and Vernon groaned

“Yeah, he was with me, but I turned around for like, thirty seconds and then he was gone!” “Seungkwan’s lost? Oh this is the worst night ever” Hoshi said, starting to cry. DK said a silent annoyed prayer and pulled Hoshi into his side

“Seungkwan’s not lost, he’s just taking a little break” “From us? Did we do something wrong? What did we do?” “Soonyoung, no, he’s… taking a break from the bright lights is all” DK said, hoping that would shut Hoshi up. It didn’t “We shouldn’t had ever come here if the lights would make him want to leave” Hoshi said tearing up once again. Vernon just looked between his two friends and sighed

“I’m going to go fin- go get Seungkwan from outside because he’s not lost, and then we’re all going to go crash at Y/N’s place” “Oh Y/N, I wonder how he’s doing? He’s so kind, you know that? Seungkwan’s so lucky to have a boyfriend like that… I wish I had one like that” Hoshi said, ready to cry again and DK grabbed him by his shoulders and shook him “You do. You do have one like that, and he’s currently at home, thinking you’re having a good time” “I do?” “Yes Soonyoung, you do” DK said exasperated and Hoshi lit up. He did have one! “That’s right I do! I can’t wait to see him tomorrow” “Oh my god why did you bring him here?” “I didn’t know he’d be the first one drunk!” “He’s always the first one drunk!” “Who is?” “No one Soonyoung, say bye to Hansol, we’re going to get into the car and wait for him and Seungkwan, okay?” “Okay! Bye Hansol!”

“Bye Soonyoung” Vernon said, blinking in confusion at his friends. They were something else, especially when drunk. But! Now that Hoshi was safeish with DK, Vernon kinda had a job to do. Find your fucking boyfriend before he fell off a roof, or drank anything else, or got into a fight, or-

“Hansol!” Oh thank god. Seungkwan bounced over to Vernon, a big smile on his face, waving his phone in his hand

“Seungkwan, what-“ “Y/N texted me!” Seungkwan said giddily and Vernon felt his soul drop to his ass

“What did he say?” “He just asked if I was having fun” Seungkwan said and Vernon felt his heart rate go back to normal, until he thought about what Seungkwan could have said “And what did you say?” “I said I was having fun, and guess what?” Seungkwan whispered and Vernon’s heart went back to normal for real this time “What Seungkwan?” “I added a heart emoji” Seungkwan said giddily like this was some sort of new development in life

“Really?” Vernon said confused

“Yeah! And he sent me one back, do you think he likes me?” “Likes yo- Likes you?!” Did- did Seungkwan not remember the two of you were dating? Like, dating dating? For five years dating? You two had been together for half a decade! Jeez you two had been together for half a decade, how’d you do it? “Yeah, oh, hey! Where’s Seokmin and Soonyoung?” “Waiting for us in the car, we’re going home, let’s go” “Awwwe, but I wanted to stay longer” “Nope! It’s time to go, Soonyoung’s crying about bright lights” “Fine, I guess we can go home” Seungkwan said with a huff, letting Vernon drag him to the car

“They’re here!” Hoshi yelled inside the car, snapping DK out of his light sleep

“Jesus why’re you so loud?” “But they’re here!” “Who?” “Hansol and Seungkwan!” “Oh, okay. Good, we need to get home” DK said to Hoshi. Vernon put Seungkwan in the car, buckling him up like he was a toddler and then got in the drivers seat

“Is everyone here?” “Yes” Seungkwan nodded “I am” Hoshi said loudly “Present” DK said, raising his hand “Good, we need to get home” Vernon said with a yawn, and started the car. It was quiet for a little bit, until Seungkwan started to talk. About you. And his… crush on you? What?

“Isn’t Y/N so handsome?”

“Okay, random?” Vernon muttered

“But isn’t he? I love looking at him, he makes my heart race” “That’s cute Seungkwan” DK said and Seungkwan smiled

“I wish I had the heart to ask him out” “Say what now?” DK said, his head snapping up, which was horrible for his already starting headache by the way “Come again?” Hoshi said, sober enough to say those words without being emotional

“Didn’t you guys know?” Seungkwan asked and his band members gave him a look

“Know what exactly Seungkwan?” Vernon asked and Seungkwan giggled

“I have a crush on Y/N” “A crush?” DK said baffled. If you two making out on your front porch was a crush, what was you two dating supposed to be? “I swear they were together” Hoshi whispered to himself. Was he going crazy?

“They are together Soonyoung, I don’t know what he’s talking about” DK whispered to Hoshi, just as confused

“Yeah! I thought I told you? I’ve had feelings for him for a while. He’s so kind, and gentle, and he always looks out for me and he’s extremely attractive. I saw him working out one day and I couldn’t breathe” Seungkwan said with a blush. It became very clear to everyone right there, that Seungkwan…. Had forgotten you two were together. Oh this wasn’t going to be good

“Oh my god make him shut up” DK said, rocking back and forth. As much as he loved Seungkwan, he really wanted his friend to just be quiet. Seungkwan had been talking for the entire thirty minute car ride, and he wasn’t done.

“And there was this one time we went for ice cream together, it was like a real date!” Seungkwan said happily

“It probably was a real date” Vernon said with a groan

“What was that?” Seungkwan said, not quite hearing what Vernon had groaned out “Nothing” Vernon said, so close to just bashing his head on his steering wheel. Seungkwan just shrugged and kept talking

“Did I tell you how pretty he was? And strong? He looks so good when he works out. Oh and he hums when he cooks, isn’t that cute? I’d be surprised if he’s single. Oh no what if he isn’t single?!” Seungkwan said in horror and DK was ready to choke him. Hoshi was asleep, and had been pretty much the whole car ride, which meant he didn’t have to hear  Seungkwan’s half hour long rant. Lucky him. DK and Vernon however, had heard five of the same stories over again, including a story about how Seungkwan ran into after a shower. They did not need to know the shower story!

“Hansol, I’m serious, shut him up before I do it” DK said, ready to hit Seungkwan over the head with his shoe

“I’m trying Seokmin, it’s not like you can really shut him up when he starts talking about Y/N” “We’re talking about Y/N again?” Seungkwan said, perking up. He had gone from talking about you to talking about ducks for some reason, but the moment he heard your name, he was absolutely ready to talk about you again

“Oh my god kill me” DK said, banging his head on the seat in front of him

“Oh my god, look at that, we’re at Y/N’s, everyone shut up!” Vernon said, pulling into your driveway

“Oh my god Y/N! We’re going in his house?” “Yes Seungkwan, we are” “Oh my gosh Oh my gosh Oh my gosh this is so nerve-wracking” Seungkwan said, suddenly extremely nervous

“I’m grabbing Soonyoung, you can take Seungkwan” DK said, unbuckling a still sleeping Hoshi “Why am I stuck with him?” “Because you were his guardian tonight, that’s why. Wake up Soonyoung, we’re here” “Huh? Here where?” “Y/N’s. We’re sleeping here, remember?” “Ohhh yeah! Yay, Y/N!” Hoshi said, hopping out the car

“Soonyoung no!” DK said, running after Hoshi, making sure he wouldn’t hurt himself. Vernon’s already going to be in trouble with you, he didn’t need to be in trouble with Mingyu. Dk grabbed Hoshi, and wrapped his arms over his shoulder and helped him walk up to the stairs. DK looked behind him and almost laughed. Vernon was struggling with Seungkwan an exceptional amount.

“Seungkwan, please, Y/N isn’t going to care what you look like, just please walk up the damn stairs” “But I look horrible” “Boo Seungkwan, if you don’t walk with me, I’m letting you sleep outside” “No! I’m walking! I’m walking!” “Thank you!” Vernon said, finally walking up to your stairs. DK was there first, and he knocked on your door, hoping that you were awake

“Please be awake, please be awake, I don’t have the strength to grab out my key” “You have a key? I don’t have a key!” Seungkwan whined, even though he most definitely had a key

“Oh my god I’m going to kill him” DK muttered and Vernon scoffed “Not if I get to him first” finally, the door opened and you stepped outside

“Oh okay, wow, cool, hi” “Please get him off of me” DK begged, pushing Hoshi’s body towards you. You grabbed Hoshi and led him inside, laying him on your couch. You heard Vernon’s groans as he walked into your house with your very drunk boyfriend. Who was giggling like a maniac

“Hi Y/N” Seungkwan said, waving his fingers at you with a big smile

“Hi… Kwanie?” You said, confused about your boyfriend’s behaviour. Vernon rolled his eyes and put Seungkwan on your couch

“He doesn’t know you’re together, I’m tired, keep him away from me before I pounce and he ends up in an early grave” Vernon said, and you turned to look at Seungkwan, who was staring at you with a blush, and let out a chuckle. When Seungkwan saw you look at him, he quickly turned away and muttered to himself

“Oh my goodness he looked at me, he looked at me! What do I do? What do I do?” “Kwannie?” “Ahh! Oh, uh, hi Y/N”

“I’m getting the rooms ready for everyone, do you want to sleep in mine?” “Holy shit” Seungkwan whispered, and then he nodded immediately

“Yes please! I’d love to stay in your room”

“Good. Soonyoung, you can have the guest room with Seokmin, Vernon, you can have the couch” Vernon said unenthusiastic

“Oh goody, the couch” “It’s a pullout bed” You said deadpan

“Oh goody the couch” Vernon said with a little more enthusiasm

After getting everyone but you and Seungkwan ready and tucked in for bed, Hoshi demanded you tuck him into bed before you left the room. How the hell did his boyfriend do it? You left, saying goodnight to Seokmin

“How the hell does Mingyu do this?” “I don’t ask” DK said, throwing his shirt off and throwing it across the room before settling himself into bed

“Night Seokmin”

“Night Y/N, see you in the morning” you shut the door and went back into the living room to check on Vernon

“You good?” “Yeah, I’m good” “Alright, see you in the morning, come on Seungkwan” you said, gesturing for him to follow you and he giggled

“Vernon, I’m sharing a bed with Y/N!” “Really? Fascinating” Vernon said sarcastically

“Sound happy for me! I’m sharing a bed with the most handsome man to ever exist! That’s something to talk about” “Just go to bed Seungkwan” Vernon said, turning away from Seungkwan trying to get to sleep “With him!” Seungkwan said with a squeal, then followed you up your stairs and into your room

“Okay Kwannie, ready for bed? Kwannie?” “Huh?!” Seungkwan said, snapping out of his daydreaming. He was just staring at you with a smile. You shook your head and grabbed Seungkwan’s hands

“Hey goof, is there something you need to tell me, or are you ready for bed?” “I-uh-you-Ifindyouveryattractiveandi’mfreakingoutaboutsleepinginthesamebedasyou!” Seungkwan yelled practically in one word. You blinked and then laughed

“Oh Seungkwan…” “I didn’t ruin anything, did I? I’m sorry if I ruined our friendship, I really didn’t-mph!” You cut your boyfriend off with a kiss, which he immediately reciprocated. Seungkwan deepened the kiss, which shocked you, and you grabbed his shoulders for support. Drunk Seungkwan is a very brave Seungkwan, got it. Seungkwan pulled away and licked his lips, watching your face

“Was that good?” He asked quietly and you nodded

“Mhm, better than good” “W-would I be in the wrong to ask you to be my boyfriend?” “How about we talk about it when you’re not drunk, yeah? We can talk in the morning” “Promise?” “Promise Kwannie, now go get in the bed” you said and Seungkwan got in your bed. It was funny, the way he was acting. Like this was your first kiss, his first time in your bed, you couldn’t wait to make fun of him in the morning. You got in your bed, and pulled Seungkwan into your arms, just like you’ve done time and time before. You felt Seungkwan tense for bit you held in a laugh

“Goodnight baby” You whispered in his ear, reveling in the small whine of embarrassment he let out before heading to bed for that night

The next morning was hell in your house. Three hungover idols, and a very irritated Vernon. You woke up with Seungkwan on top of you. You tried to get him off of you, but failed in your task

“Mmm… Kwannie, I gotta get up” “No you don’t” “Yeah I do, I’ve gotta go check on everybody else” “They’re fine” “Get up Seungkwan” “I don’t want to” “I will push you off of me” “Fine! You don’t even love me, do you?” Seungkwan said, rolling off of you. You placed a kiss on his forehead and chuckled “of course I love you baby, I just also need to make sure everyone survived through the night” “Fine, go check on them. I’ll just be here. Alone. With a hangover. Sad” “I will kick you, get up and get ready for the day” “This is abuse, my head hurts and you want me to do things?” “Goodbye Seungkwan” you said with a sigh, shaking your head. You walked out your room to go check on DK and Hoshi. Hoshi was still asleep, while DK was presumably downstairs. You walked downstairs to see DK slumped over on your table , a glass of water and a bottle of pills next to him, while Vernon was making breakfast

“Go back to sleep Hansol, I’ll make breakfast. Go get in the bed with Hoshi, you look like shit” “If I wasn’t tired right now, I’d hit you with this pan” “Uh-huh, lucky for me, you are. Is Seokmin alive?” You said, taking the pan from Vernon and poking DK with it

“Allegedly” “How much did he have to drink last night?” “Less than everyone else” “Shocker” “I think he was dealing with Hoshi too much to actually drink” “That’s valid. Night Hansol” you said with a chuckle and Vernon waved at you with a grunt “Mmm, night”

You brushed some of DK’s hair out his face and gently woke him up

“Rise and shine sleepyhead” “mmm what?” “Wake up Seokmin, did you take your pain meds yet?” “mm… no? I fell asleep before I opened the bottle” you chuckled and opened the bottle, handing him the medicine and pushing his glass of water towards him 

“Mmm, is Soonyoung still asleep?”

“Yeah” “What about your little admirer?” DK said with a grin and you chuckled

“Probably back asleep by now, I can’t wait to make fun of him when he wakes up” “You and me both. I learned more about you in thirty minutes than that one time we did icebreakers like, years ago. He literally would not shut up” “I’m just that interesting I guess” you said with chuckle, getting breakfast started. DK helped here and there, but he mostly just stayed at his seat at your table, his head still killing him. Eventually Hoshi woke up, the smell of food forcing him downstairs, and lastly Seungkwan. Vernon was, rightfully, still asleep and probably would be for a while.

“Hi Soonyoung. Hi baby, see you went back to sleep” “Yeah, after my boyfriend abandoned me” “Awwe! You two are dating now? That’s so sweet!” DK said, starting the chaos. What else was new with him?

“What do you mean, we’ve been together for five years Seokmin?” “Well, the way you were talking last night, it seemed otherwise” “And acting” You piped up, leaning on your counter with a smug smile

“Can.. someone fill me in here?” Hoshi asked confused, and Seungkwan raised his hand

“Me as well” “I mean, I would think that someone who was so in love with me would remember what happened last night, don’t you think Seokmin?” You asked your bandmate and DK grinned “I would. I know if I was in love with you the way Seungkwan is, I wouldn’t have forgotten a thing about last night” “I don’t like how you two are talking, what did you do?” Seungkwan said, suspicious of the way you two were acting. You and DK finally gave up, not lasting long to begin with, and broke down in laughter

“You forgot that you two were dating because of how much you had to drink last night” DK said and Seungkwan’s eye got wide

“No I didn’t” “Yeah you did baby. You were giggling like a high schooler about being in my house. I caught you staring and you kept talking to yourself about it” “Oh my god” Seungkwan said horrified. Hoshi started snickering already making plans to tell everyone about this later

“You’re joking. This is just a prank, I didn’t do that” “You talked about him for thirty minutes in the car Seungkwan, I wanted to hit you” DK said and Hoshi laughed harder

“You kissed me last night and asked me to be your boyfriend, and I told you we’d ‘talk about it in the morning’. Welcome to the morning” “Oh my god this is so embarrassing” Seungkwan muttered and you pulled your boyfriend into your arms

“It’s cute baby. I think it’s cute that you have a crush on me” “I hate you” “You sure didn’t last night” you, Hoshi, and DK said in sync, causing you three to laugh

“Stop laughing at me, it’s not funny” “It’s kinda funny baby” “All of you are jerks” “Oh stop it Seungkwan, we’re just having a little fun” Hoshi said and Seungkwan started to pout. You gave your boyfriend a kiss to hush him up and to stop him from pouting

“Don’t pay attention to them baby, I still think it’s cute. Out of all the people to have a crush on and be in love with, you chose me? I feel kind of honoured” “Oh god, here goes the sweet talk, I’m gonna throw up” DK said, gagging, but Hoshi wasn’t going to let that slide “Don’t you and J-“ Hoshi started, but DK cut him off “Don’t say anything, I’m not listening” DK said, walking out your kitchen, Hoshi following behind him. You and Seungkwan watched with smiles on your face before you shook your head with a chuckle “Come on cutie, let’s eat breakfast, okay? They’ll come eat when they stop arguing”

“Okay… but was I really giggling and talking to myself last night” “Come eat Seungkwan” you said, setting the table

“But you’re not telling me anything!” He said, following you around the kitchen

“I love you” you said shaking your head and Seungkwan huffed

“I’m going to get that answer, one way or another! Even if I-” you cut him off with a kiss, and he grabbed your waist instantly

“Mmm… I love you too Y/N, guess I can wait for a bit” Seungkwan said before kissing you again. He was going to get that answer though, just you wait (after he finished kissing you of course)

11:30pm

you’ve sat in bed for the day, already showered and in your pajamas, pulling up your phone to watch something before going to bed. instead, you see a recent text from jongseob.

‘heyyy ill be over in 10 mins :)’

confused, you look through your texts, wondering if you missed a date that was planned.

‘i’m already in bed :( did i miss a date?’

you write back, getting up and trying to ready yourself for whatever your boyfriend was planning.

‘nono and you can be in your pajamas i just wanna be with you’

your heart fluttered at the sweet text and you relax, knowing that you don’t have to get yourself ready for something intricate.

about ten minutes later, there’s a knock on your door. jongseob is standing there, smiling and visibly calmer than he usually is with his busy schedule. he’s wearing a large hoodie and pajama pants (you briefly question if they’re yours).

“you wanna get dinner?” jongseob asks, his hands in his pockets.

“dinner?! seob, it’s almost midnight.” you respond, laughing as you get your shoes and a coat on, anyway.

“well. maybe not actually dinner. i just wanted to go get ramyeon at the convenience store down the street,” he corrects as you both leave your apartment, making your way outside.

“hmm.. yeah that i can do at midnight,” you agree, slipping your hand into the hook of his elbow as you make your way down the street.

you both split off once you enter the 24/7 convenience store, grabbing your respective snacks and drinks. you’re silently grateful for jongseob’s random visit, suddenly realizing how hungry you were.

you meet him by the register and he quickly pays for all of your snacks before you can protest (you still smack his shoulder playfully). you set your stuff down at the counter near the window, heading to fill your bowls of ramyeon with hot water.

you’re both sharing moments of your day as you wait for your noodles to cook. jongseob quietly talks about how long his day has been: practicing, recording, dance practices…

“i went straight to you once they let me leave,” he says, tone playful yet genuine. “i haven’t seen you all day,” he sighs, slightly dramatic as he leans into your side. you flush as your heads knock together slightly.

“well. at least you know that you can always come over to my place,” you assure him as you both make your way back to your seats.

you both sit down, silently eating together and sharing bites of your snacks. you didn’t realize how much you needed a moment like this; a soft, quiet, and relaxed moment with your favorite person.

you’re both satisfied on your slow walk back to your apartment, hands intertwined as you carry the rest of your snacks.

there’s no conversation about jongseob staying over, but he still follows you into your apartment, slipping his shoes and coat off as you close the door behind you.

jongseob wraps his arms around your waist and you return the embrace around his neck. he leans onto your shoulder and you feel him relax into you.

“thanks.. for letting me bother you in the middle of the night..” he mumbles. “i really needed a break.”

you laugh softly, gently kissing the crown of his head. “you don’t have to thank me. i’m your boyfriend. you can bother me whenever you want,” you say, repeating your assurance from before.

jongseob looks up at you from your shoulder. he presses a kind, grateful kiss to your lips, seemingly giving all of his emotion into the kiss.

“let’s go to bed. it’s late,” you whisper, pressing your foreheads together.

once in bed with your boyfriend, you realize how grateful you are for these moments. even though you were exhausted, you had a caring guy who wanted to see you and be with you. you were definitely living your best life.
