Tumblr always resizes my photos, making them blurry. Back when I used my phone to take them it didn’t make a big difference, but now that I’m using a real camera, it does. The photos are much crispier before I post them here.

I’m in a bride costume right now! I’m loving it, always wanted to dress up as a bride. It’s a costume, but for my tastes it’s close enough.

Last post I talked why I wanted to change my blog and how I wanted to do it for this new year. I stopped posting for a couple months to give myself a time out.

During that period I experimented with photography. Bought a new camera, some lighting equipment and some backdrops like the flowery one in this photo. I was a complete amateur when it comes to photography, and I thought that maybe I could step up my game a little. After a while experimenting, well, I’m still a complete amateur, but at least I managed to take some new photos in the process.

This is the same place as always, but with a different background and equipment. It took some time to get them right and in the end I liked the results, but I realized later that all this different stuff were not the change I was looking for.

Last year I stopped posting photos for the last couple of months. Honestly, I was a little tired of doing basically the same thing over and over again. I needed time to to figure things out. 

The problem is, I am a VERY methodical person. If you look at my photo archive, you’ll notice that I’m always obeying some rigid pattern that I come up with. I tend to do that with everything I do. I also have a very methodical way of choosing the photos that I’ll post, and to organize everything on folders, put dates, separate the best photos on different folders, and so on. On some occasions I had almost two months worth of material prepared in advance, full of already selected photos, ready to post in a queue. I love organization and organization pays off, but all of this takes time, and... I feel like I’m always short on time. And this blog is not supposed to feel like work, because it isn’t. I even thought I should just stop posting here to free time for other things. 

But as I always say, I love this blog, and in the end, I don’t want to stop it. After some reflection, I realized that the problem is not the posting itself, but how I was doing it. So from now on I want to take it less seriously. No more rigid patterns, too much planning and organization. I just want to post when I feel like, what I feel like. Of course, I don’t plan to run too far from the kind of photo I usually post. I like to post those full body photos at home, because 1) I like showing my entire outfit and 2) I feel much safer and more comfortable at home. But I realized I don’t need to spend hours and hours combing through hundreds of photos to do that anymore.

I’ve never posted a selfie before, mostly for two reasons:

- I don’t think my makeup skills are that good yet. I still have to improve it, but I’m too lazy to do that.

- Posting selfies would make it easier for someone who knows me in real life to identify me.

Happy new year, people! It’s already 2019 in Brazil.

I’m actually dressed like this right now, this photo was taken a few minutes ago. I started a new year dressed as Julia for the first time ever!

I wasn’t planning to, it just happened. Usually, some relatives come to our home to celebrate the new year together, but this time they had other plans, so it was only me and my parents. Then my father didn’t want to wait for it and went to sleep (he never sleeps late), so there was only me and mother left. Then I thought: what the heck, I could dress up right now and wait for 2019 like this. So I did! 

My mother is kind of used to see me as Julia so she didn’t mind and we watched the fireworks from the tallest point of our home. I think it’s a good start for a year. 

Also, tumblr is still here and I can’t keep away from it, so I decided that in 2019 I will continue to share my photos and maybe write a little more.
