After asking Sophie if she’d like to illustrate the singles and albums, Sophie said yes and began working immediately in between her existing projects. NOVABLOOD Have put together a set list of tracks they gravitate towards for their current and forthcoming DJ sets.

Basically it’s a ‘what to expect’ list from a set curated by them…

Both Mark & Paolo have played at some of the greatest clubs including Ministry Of Sound / Egg / Cream / Chibuku / Kendal Calling / Night Embassy (Berlin) / UBER (Carlisle) and BESTIVAL to name a few.

Tracks you can expect to hear are usually dominated by artists who create energetic yet emotive spells throughout their arrangements.

“New and classics, yet awash with Hypnotic grooves and emotional content, either aggressive or uplifting is generally what I go for” says Zowie. “It has to move me in a particular way”.

HOW YA FEEL

How Ya Feel - taken from my album Save Me, was heavily inspired by some 80’s soul / funk tracks.

The verse section of the song was a continual loop for most of the studio session, when I suddenly felt where it needed to change key. That’s when it got exciting.

It has a number of different sections vocally which help keep the vibe interesting. I’ve been asked who does the backing vocals on this one, but it’s all me. As it is across all the album.

WITHOUT U

Acoustic sessions from Save Me - June 2020

Without U was actually the final track I recorded for the album, I was playing various guitar ideas across it but nothing really gelled. You see, I can play to varying degrees on guitar and seem to make certain ideas fit, however I don’t class myself as a guitarist. So, on this track I decided to enlist the talents of Tim Natrajan, who sessions for Novablood.

What I particularly like about the performance is that it sits very simply. It’s not over cooked, it feels kinda lazy and melancholic and slung back. The tone is particularly suited to the track. It almost feels like an early N.E.R.D vibe.
