Would anyone be interested in a lottielee fanfic like this?
They still fall in love, of course. I wouldn’t be lottielee altar if that didn’t happen!

HEADS UP: The U.S. Postal Service quietly changed how postmarks work.
Mail is no longer automatically postmarked with the date you drop it off. Instead, the postmark now reflects the date it’s first processed by an automated sorting facility — which can be days later.
If you mail something right at a deadline, the official postmark could be later than your drop-off date and may be considered late.
If mailing date matters to you, go inside the post office and request a hand-stamped postmark.
A new USPS postmark rule may cause property tax payments to look late even when people mail them on time. The change can create surprise lat

Do you think the writers heavily failed lottie matthews and did a horrible portrayal of her mental health issues?
It’s complicated. I don’t think they failed completely, but there are definitely some harmful aspects in the way they chose to portray a character like Lottie. Going to go into a very long rant here as always.
The show walks a very thin line depicting a character canonically diagnosed with schizophrenia as leading acts of violence and starting a cult (the show is also walking a very thin line portraying this ‘Wilderness’ spirituality, of which many aspects have been borrowed from Indigenous belief systems, as a catalyst for violence). Schizophrenia has been found to be the most stigmatized mental health disorder, and it’s very common to find media depictions that reinforce this stigma, despite people with schizophrenia being more at risk of being victims of violence than the perpetrators of it. It’s definitely more common to find a portrayal of a character with schizophrenia as violent than non-violent, and Yellowjackets is a part of that problem. However, I do still see value in some of YJ’s more accurate depictions of schizophrenia, and I’ve heard many people who experience psychosis do relate to her character and the way her psychosis is shown (especially in the first season). People being able to relate to Lottie’s mental health is so valuable!
Some accurate aspects of Lottie’s depiction:
•Her psychosis is contextual and stress-dependent. It’s exacerbated by a high-stress environment. She’s starving and sleep-deprived. She experiences many traumatic events in a very short amount of time. She’s not shown to be inherently violent due to her psychosis, but when her environment becomes increasingly violent and when her circumstances begin demanding violence to survive, that’s when her psychosis shifts. I actually think the tragedy of her character (particularly in the way her delusions are validated and used for survival by the others to the point of her destruction) is really interesting, unique, and well-done.
•Her amount of insight oscillates. Sometimes she has moments of clarity in which she recognizes her mental illness, sometimes she believes completely that the Wilderness is real and she’s not able to be “snapped out of it.” And when she is in active psychosis, she really does believe in what she’s saying and doing, it’s not as simple as telling her it’s not real.
•Stigma against schizophrenia, and the effects of this stigma on those who are diagnosed with it, are pretty accurately depicted in the show. The other characters call her “crazy,” make jokes about her not being on her meds and being locked in the looney bin, they feed her delusions when they need hope and use her as a scapegoat for all of their violence when they don’t need her anymore. When they first crash in the wilderness, Lottie hides her medication, doesn’t tell anyone about her hallucinations, and appears deeply ashamed whenever she’s unable to hide her psychosis from those around her. Lottie knows the stigma surrounding the condition she’s been diagnosed with, knows she can’t share it with anyone without facing this stigma, and feels deeply ashamed of it. And she feels deeply alone and alienated from others due to having this secret about herself. Unfortunately accurate.
•The show manages to never slip into complete cartoonish villain category with Lottie, there’s always a sympathetic side to her character and there’s nuance in her intentions. It’s made clear that Lottie’s intentions/motivations will always be a bit different from the other characters when she is experiencing active psychosis.
•The “I will be unwell” scene is the most sympathetic portrayal of Lottie I’ve seen so far in the show and I want more of that nuance!
And then…there are harmful aspects, which I’ll do my best to list here:
•I think, unfortunately, the main motivation behind having Lottie canonically be diagnosed with schizophrenia has always been to keep the show’s core mystery alive (is it rational or supernatural?) rather than out of a genuine desire to provide representation for an underrepresented/misrepresented mental health disorder. Lottie’s schizophrenia often exists as a narrative device more than anything else. It provides a rational explanation for something that would otherwise be unequivocally supernatural.
•Doomcoming. I really wish they hadn’t had a character with schizophrenia also lead a sexual assault (which is implied to be partially based on this psychosis as well). It brings up uncomfortable and problematic discussions/questions about the role of Lottie’s psychosis in the SA and the implications of that. Discussions about Lottie’s character become land mines because of this. Trying to talk about her character in a nuanced, non-villainizing way becomes difficult to do without minimizing her canonical role as a perpetrator of SA. I have seen Doomcoming used both to justify demonizing statements about Lottie’s mental illness and, conversely, Lottie’s psychosis being used to soften or explain away what happens during Doomcoming. It’s messy, and it’s why I advocate for not seeing Doomcoming as a perfectly accurate 1:1 with reality depiction of either psychosis or sexual assault. It functions more as symbolic horror than as an accurate or responsible representation of either.
•Spirituality and psychosis are far too often mixed and used as interchangeable in this show, which is harmful both for the kind of spirituality being portrayed and for schizophrenia.
•The show’s portrayal of ECT is very inaccurate. In my teenage years, I drove my mother to a clinic to receive ECT every week, and I gained a fair amount of knowledge on this treatment which is often misunderstood (and based on a version of it that existed decades ago and has completely evolved since). And when I saw the way it was shown in Yellowjackets with Lottie, I was rolling my eyes to say the least. ECT is not performed while the person is conscious (as is shown in YJ), they are under anesthesia and given a muscle relaxant. It is not painful. ECT is used only for severe mental health conditions when all other common treatments haven’t worked, but it requires informed consent from the person receiving it, with rare exceptions for those whose mental illness is severe enough that they are not able to give their consent and their illness has become life-threatening (refusal to eat, suicide attempts). The show portrays ECT as something purely coercive, torturous, and harmful, when it actually has strong empirical evidence in support of it and has significantly helped people when all other common treatments have failed. It saved my mother’s life and I hope more people can recognize the modern version of it (which existed in the 90s as well). It absolutely has its downsides (which I witnessed) but I wish the show had done more research before spreading inaccuracies about it.
—
And I do see the consequences of this stigma in fandom spaces. Lottie is often solely blamed or focused on as the perpetrator during Doomcoming (the rest of them equally participated and are also at fault), Lottie is portrayed as distinctly scarier, more evil, more manipulative/power-hungry by the same people who love characters like Shauna and Misty, whose actions are equally, if not more, violent throughout the series. I’m not saying you have to like any of them or forgive their actions (definitely don’t forgive their actions!), but if you’re going to go on tangents about how evil Lottie is while defending Shauna with your life, I’m going to be raising an eyebrow at you!
I really do believe this kind of disproportionate behavior is rooted in subconscious stigma against schizophrenia (and racism!). But if you try to argue this, the response is often, “They’re all mentally ill!” But that response ignores important distinctions. Schizophrenia is very distinct from the conditions other characters are depicted as struggling with, such as PTSD, depression, dissociation, or substance use disorders, and it carries a severe stigma based on fear, misinformation, and moral panic that other mental health conditions do not. Treating these conditions as interchangeable reinforces this stigma.
The showrunners themselves have said, “We don’t see Lottie as a villain, we don’t see any of our characters as villains… her struggles with her mental illness are not making her better or worse than anybody else on our show, it’s just that her circumstances are different.” Lottie is still at fault for her actions, her actions cannot be excused by her mental illness, her actions are not entirely rooted in her mental illness, but it’s still important to have the nuance of acknowledging that her circumstances are always going to be different than those of the other characters.
Of course I’m not an expert on any of this! If I got anything wrong or missed something please feel free to comment!

Hello everyone.
It has come to my attention that we have a hidden proshipper in the TWDG fandom once more.
Please read more for details.
sharing seasons & episodes of "she-ra and the princesses of power" for download on google drive so that you don't have to give money to netflix (which you should stop doing anyway, really): s1 / s2 / s3 / s4 / s5 / intros
credit to instagram user catrasluvbot via these posts: x / x / x / x / x / x
as with most pirates, it is asked for your own (and others') benefit that you save this media on a physical device; i.e. hard drives, DVDs, SD cards, etc. this way, it's yours forever and cannot be taken from you by a greedy streaming service.
EDIT SEPTEMBER (READ): please be warned that the first episode of season one is ~6GB compared to just a few hundred MB, probably related to the frame width being 3840x2160 instead of 1920x1080 like the rest. this may be a concern for some individuals due to storage space. i can confirm it is not malware as i have had it saved since the start of the year without affecting anything. if you need or prefer to find a smaller file size, i recommend skipping that one in the gdrive when going through it and torrenting just the single. ↓
EDIT OCTOBER (UPDATE): @grahminradarin has changed the file size of ep1 down to 800MB! here is the mega link for download. i can’t tell what the frame dimensions are but the quality appears to be the same.
EDIT DECEMBER (UPDATE): i already posted it on my she-ra fandom blog, but a couple months ago back when this one was unavailable, i found a google drive link i found that is a full collection of OST soundtracks (.mp3) from all five seasons of the show! it was ripped & reuploaded by waterwitch, who also made a playlist on youtube (.mp4) that you could download instead!
EDIT DECEMBER (2025): read this if you're having trouble downloading due to an exceeded quota message!
editing to add although it's a bit late now: @catras-breakup-song is my SPOP fandom sideblog!
Conversation carried out throughout the shift
Jackishauna songs or smth, idk
A lot of these are just Shauna yearning for Jackie. If I've made a list with these same songs... Ignore that I really don't remember if I've done this before, and if so what songs
"My Delirium" - Ladyhawke
literally Shauna Shipman. Shauna Shipman wrote this song, guys.
"Still here in this quiet room Deep in delusion sending me over Outside watch the world go by Inside time stands still as I wonder Still hanging on (For what?)"
"In Bloom" - Sturgill Simpson
A cover of Nirvana songs... very Shauna coded. Trying to figure out her feelings during a tender part of her life. Also the quote is her "Yellowjackets" in general.
"Sell the kids for food Weather changes moods Spring is here again Reproductive glands"
I should just have this list be labeled Shauna first and foremost... the Jackieshauna is an additional positive.
"Read My Mind" - The Killers
soooo Jackieshauna. Literally could apply to both of them I think
"I never really gave up on Breakin' out of this two-star town I got the green light, I got a little fight I'm gonna turn this thing around Can you read my mind? Can you read my mind?" - Jackie
"The good old days, the honest man The restless heart, the Promised Land A subtle kiss that no one sees A broken wrist and a big trapeze Oh well, I don't mind if you don't mind 'Cause I don't shine if you don't shine Before you go Can you read my mind?" - Both
"You Outta Know" - Alanis Nadine Morissette
Oh yeah... this is THE Jackieshauna song guys, I don't want any arguments, it's definitive ❌ both Ghost Jackie and Jealous Shauna
"Why I'm here, to remind you Of the mess you left when you went away It's not fair, to deny me Of the cross I bear that you gave to me You, you, you oughta know"
"All I Need" - Radiohead
Ugh they're so messy, Ghost Jackie and Jealous Shauna too—again!
"You are all I need You're all I need I'm in the middle of your picture Lying in the reeds"
Feel free to add songs here
do Mari be in the pit, in the pit?? Moshing Mari most definitely canon, I know for a fact she was pushing grown men around when they'd rough up on her and other girls in the pit

when are TWDG fans gonna learn that relationships are tailored to your decision
If Vi/Lou is on your side when the Marlon stuff happens (i.e, stepping in front of Clementine) its because you made choices that appeal to that character
It's the same as back in s1, Kenny will dependingly be ride or die, or a bit of an ass sometimes depending on if you go ride or die for him as Lee
The people who criticize Violet or say she's a worse love interest are the same people who look at Kenny with a blind eye (no pun intended)
The way I see it:
Clem x Louis is a parallel to Lee x Carly
And Clem x Vi is a parallel to Lee x Kenny
Thanks for coming to my ted talk and let's all be respectful towards these characters and their validity in what they do, they're both great love interests, Louis isn't 👎 and Vi isn't 👎, let's kick the toxic shipping in the ass and realize that your choice is among most things, as an appeal to you as a consumer, and not Clementine's. Realistically— based on the past and the short time frame of S4, she wouldn't date either of those hoes! Not at least until the epilogue where we see her living her life without a leg and the crutch (presumably a few weeks after the bite)
its been over a year since I posted this and I'd like to add something more in appeal to Vi as a character (because I absolutely love her as a character, especially as a parallel to Kenny—no shade to Louis or Kenny btw they're both awesome characters).
People love Kenny. No brainer, a lot of people even have him as their favorite character over Clementine and Lee, that's fine.
But he's a shitty guy. A lot of people like to say it's fine for him to be an asshole to people like Clementine because he's broken and hurting. But that's just causation as to why he may act like that, not a real excuse or even reasoning. He's an asshole in s1 before either Katjaa or Duck dies, he's consistently racist (people brush this off because it's humorous but Kenny consistently makes innappropriate comments about Lee's race). Not to mention Arvo (I have a lot of conflicting opinions on that).
Point blank? Violet's been at Ericson's since the age of eleven. She most definitely has a history of mental illness, as well as a troubled home life as a child. She has reason, evidence to back up the way she acts and thinks. Violet's not an asshole to be an asshole or because you don't agree with her like Kenny is, she has abandonment issues.
I made it a point to go throw the DSM-V while brainstorming for my highschool au twdg fic that's still in the works because I wanted a better idea for how to work with Violet's identity and personality in a non-apocalyptic setting.
Here is a snippet from my notes app (although correct me if I'm wrong as i don't have a dissociative disorder myself although I do tend to check out of life for a bit sometimes):
"Alright this next one is one I don't think people bring up enough: Dissociative symptoms/the chance that Violet may have a dissociative/derealization disorder.
Obvious enough—her grandma kicked the bucket right in front of her, and what did Violet do? Scream, cry, like a normal seven year old? No, it's said in the game she just continued watching her cartoons.
That's exactly the description for a dissociative episode. She went through a traumatic situation and her brain blocked out all stimuli to protect herself for negative emotions. Now, there's no telling if this actually means she has a dissociative disorder or if it was a one time thing, but I think we should give Violet her damn deserved grace that it's a possibility.
So, actually there's a lot there. For one I'd like to point out apparently her dad was an alcoholic and her family was dirt poor. And her grandma killed herself (take a shot every time a say that and you'll be joining Violet's grandma). So I'd say even if ignoring her tells of depression, it's likely that it's generational in her family.
According to Stanford Medicine (https://med.stanford.edu/depressiongenetics/mddandgenes.html) around 50% of the cause of depression is genetic and the rest is psychological and physical (say growing up poor, around an alcoholic father, and having to be raised mostly by your grandparents). Tendency to become depressed can be completely genetic in some cases.
So, even if Violet didn't check off any of the boxes related to depression (because it's a video game not a psychology piece that omnisciently shows you all the character's thoughts) it's still likely she has depression, perhaps since a very young age even if she weren't to live in an apocalypse.
My opinion/summary? I think she has major clinical depression, an anxiety disorder social or non social related, complex PTSD with dissociative symptoms, acute stress disorder (during/after being kidnapped by the Delta), a genetic/familial history of depression/suicidal thoughts and substance abuse—oh, and a lot of stress. Have you seen this girl's posture?"
This fandom in general has a problem with children who aren't Clementine or AJ, oh and maybe Duck but we never got much content on him. People hate Ben, they hate Sarah, they REALLY hate Gabe, and the Ericson kids are no exception, specifically Violet gets targeted because in some playthrough she'll briefly (that's the key work here, briefly) side with Minerva.
Children are not going to be mature or smart in an apocalypse unless they're the rare ones who come out like clementine, or they're the next generation like AJ. Ben sold s1 group out to the bandits, but probably because he was scared. He's a wimp, sure, and it's valid to dislike him for putting Clementine in danger, but at the end of the day he's a scared kid.
If I see another post, or TikTok or whatever the hell opinion that Sarah deserved to die I'm gonna kms. What??? Sarah, sweet sweet Sarah?? The girl raised in insolation by her dickhead father who refused to teach her how to survive (probably some sort of coping so he could refuse to believe his daughter would have to live in such a cruel world)??? That Sarah?? The one eaten alive by walkers?? Enough said.
Gabe, look I don't really like Gabe either but I don't hate him for being an awkward teenage boy trying to flirt or make conversation with the only teenage girl he's met besides his sister (is Mariana a teen by mainline tnf?) It's awkward, that's fine, it gives charm, it gives humanity to the scene. Louis and Violet are superior options but still, why hate on a kid for being a kid?
And I talked about Violet above.
Tldr; Violet has a diagnoses, whereas Kenny is a bitching old man. Kenny has his causes for being the way he is but they don't provide valid reasoning like Violet has since the beginning of her first appearance. They're great parallels and I think people should stop treating them as if they aren't practically the same person character wise. Stop putting a kid down and uplifting an old guy who's aggressive af. If I had to describe these two I'd say Violet acts in and Kenny acts out, and acting out is way more volatile in general.
Barbara gives Cass her name chosen specifically for it's connection to Oracle and how much Babs loves a good running theme and then years later the world gets rebooted and Cass gets erased from existence and Barbara and Cass have never met except. In this new reality in this new life for Cass's entire childhood people have been calling her Cassandra. Her father thinks he chose the name and he's not wrong in this universe he technically did. But it wasn't him that truly thought of the name it was an echo from another universe it was a bond that was shattered but could never be fully erased even when both sides had their reality completely rewritten. The outer gods of the universe were literally trying to erase any trace or a relationship between Barbara and Cassandra and yet they still couldn't destroy it completely. Editorial and dc higher ups you are nothing in the face of this one character and the antisocial teenager she cares about so very much.
something something Babs picking out the name Cassandra bc of her own codename, accidentally picks one that sounds like Carolyn and Sandra combined
So true actually 😭 it's funny how Cassandra was probably chosen as her name by the writers both as reference to the original batwoman Kathy Kane and as a tie between her and Oracle. When they decided to make Shiva her mom do you think the writers did some research, found out she was originally called Sandra, and went oh hell yes accidental foreshadowing!
"Jackie was a mean girl!"
THIS JACKIE?? 🙁
not to sound like a christian facebook mom but some of yall need to have grace in your hearts for the people in your lives or the people you pass once on the road and never see again like you literally need to stop assuming the worst of everyone and their intentions it is poisoning your brain. you can be careful and responsible without being a miserable person. it is possible i promise
you are a tar pit and you live this way because you choose to.
Can we all agree that morality arguments are completely useless for a show like Yellowjackets
I can't understand why people vehemently hate on Shauna's actions in s3 and by proxy YJ s3 despite the whole series being about the girls brutalizing each other.
Shaun betrays Jackie's trust by sleeping with Jeff. Taissa breaks Allie's leg. They constantly insult each other, especially Natalie (this is just in the pilot and pre crash btw).
At the height of this fandom during s2 and s3 hiatus we (original fans) theorized it would be about the girls splitting into multiple factions and having wars...
JUST DONT WATCH THE SHOW NO ONE IS FORCING YOU TO WATCH THE SHOW ABOUT MURDER AND CANNIBALISM, YOU ARE MAKING YOURSELF MISERABLE BY TRYING TO CLAIM MORAL HIGH GROUND OVER A FICTIONAL SHOW INSTEAD OF JUST ENJOYING THE INSANITY AND DEPRAVITY FOR WHAT IT IS, a fictional show
