The city slept. The streets were empty, glowing under the occasional flicker of a traffic light. The quiet pressed in around the car, but it didnât feel empty â not with him here.
Rikiâs hands rested on the wheel, steady, precise, one of them occasionally brushing against the gearshift. His other hand hovered near the center console, close enough that you could feel the warmth radiating from it, though it didnât touch you. Not yet.
The music was low, slow, heavy â filling the space without breaking it. Every bass note seemed to vibrate against your chest, mingling with the quiet hum of the tires on the asphalt.
You shifted slightly, thighs brushing together, trying not to notice how his arm moved just a little too close every time he changed gears. Your knee nudged his hand accidentally as the car rounded a corner. He didnât flinch. Didnât pull away. Just let it linger.
The air between you thickened with every turn, every moment of unspoken awareness. You could feel his presence, his attention, even when he wasnât looking at you. The silence made it impossible to ignore.
At the next red light, he finally glanced over. Not rushed. Not flustered. Just calm, steady, eyes dark and unreadable, and you felt yourself caught under that look like you were already trapped.
âYouâre quiet,â he said, voice low, almost casual.
âIâŠâ Your words faltered. Your throat felt tight. You wanted to speak, but the words seemed small and useless in the car with him.
âYou always get like this at night,â he continued, leaning back slightly, thumb brushing against the wheel. âWhen itâs just us. It makes me think sometimes. Wonder.â
You swallowed. Every breath felt heavy. The light stayed red. His hand was still near yours â a promise, a warning, a question all at once.
âYou can just tell me to pull over,â he murmured, not commanding, not pressing â just leaving it entirely to you.
And you nodded.
The green light flickered on, and the car started moving again. His eyes returned to the road, but the tension didnât fade. Every line of his body, every deliberate motion of his hands, was control itself. And you knew, deep down, that when he finally did stop, nothing would be gentle or calm.
He eased the car onto a side street, quiet enough that the city seemed to vanish around you and him. No one to see. No one to interrupt. The engineâs hum was the only other sound, low and steady.
âHere,â he said softly, tapping the brake. âWeâre stopping.â
Your chest tightened at the simplicity of it, the way his hand moved so close to yours, hovering on the console like he could brush it at any moment but chose not to. You swallowed, pulse quickening, feeling the heat in your thighs pool deeper.
Riki glanced at you then, just a flick of his gaze, and it was enough to make your stomach twist. âJust donât move,â he murmured, the words casual but carrying weight. âJust sit. Feel me.â
You tried to obey, though your fingers anxiously twitched against your legs, and you felt the tension building in your body like static electricity. He shifted slightly, leaning closer, his arm brushing the side of your leg â not forceful, just grazing â and your breath hitched.
âYouâre so aware,â he whispered, almost to himself, but you heard it. âEvery little movement, every little sound you makeâŠâ
You couldnât stop the small whimper that escaped, the soft clench of your thighs. Rikiâs hand moved closer to you, resting on the edge of the seat between you, inches from your skin.
Not touching you.
Not yet.
The restraint was unbearable. Your mind was a mess of heat, anticipation, and that delicious ache of wanting.
âDo you want me to touch you?â His voice was low, teasing, deliberate. Not rushing. Not forcing. He let you answer him â let you say it.
âYes,â you whispered, almost breathless, eyes wide, lips parted.
Finally, like the dam breaking, he let his hand slide along your thigh, soft, deliberate strokes, fingers tracing the outline of your legs, teasing over the sensitive skin just under your skirt. Your back arched slightly, and he hummed, approving, leaning closer, his chest brushing yours just enough to make your pulse spike.
âYouâve wanted this,â he murmured, lips near your ear. âAll night, havenât you?â
You couldnât answer. Couldnât speak. Just tremble under his touch, heart racing, heat pooling, the friction growing unbearable.
Riki shifted his hand higher now, fingertips brushing over the edge of your underwear. The slow, deliberate motion had you gasping, thighs tightening reflexively, every nerve screaming.
âLook at you,â he growled softly, voice husky. âSo tense⊠so readyâŠâ
And just like that, the restraint broke. His mouth found yours in a slow, deep kiss, tongue teasing, exploring, hands now bold but still in control, keeping you pinned against him in the quiet car. Every brush, every touch of his fingers, made it clear: he could stop at any moment, but he wouldnât.
He didnât rush. Not at first. Every movement, every brush of his fingers, was deliberate, calculated â a reminder that he decided when and how far this would go.
His hand traced up your inner thigh, just brushing the edge of your underwear, and you shivered, hips pressing instinctively into him. Riki leaned closer, his chest warm against yours, eyes dark and focused.
âYouâve wanted this,â he murmured, voice low, rough, as his thumb traced slow circles over the most sensitive skin he could reach. âYouâve been holding back all night, pretending nothingâs there⊠but look at you now.â
You whimpered, fingers curling in his shirt, breath shaky, and he smirked. The way your body reacted â the heat, the tension, the helpless need â made his grip on you tighten slightly.
His other hand found your waist, sliding your skirt higher, brushing over you, teasing just enough to make you gasp and arch into him. You tried to move, but he held you firmly, his control absolute.
âYou feel so good,â he whispered against your ear. âSo tight⊠so ready for me.â
Then, finally, he let his fingers slip inside, slow, testing, stretching you, making every nerve in your body flare. You moaned, low and breathless, entirely at his mercy, completely exposed to him.
Riki didnât just touch you. He owned you. Every motion, every press of his palm, every flick of his fingers, was designed to unravel you â to make you forget everything except the heat and pressure of him.
âLook at you,â he growled, tilting your chin up. âSo wet for me⊠so needy⊠all for me.â
You tried to protest, tried to form words, but your voice broke into soft, incoherent moans. Your mind fogged, your body trembling under his hands, hips pressing and bucking against the only resistance he allowed: his own hand holding you steady.
Riki leaned down, lips brushing your neck, teeth grazing the sensitive skin as his hand moved in rhythm, teasing, building, overstimulating every nerve until you felt weak, your thoughts a scrambled mess of heat and desperation.
âYouâre mine,â he murmured, voice rough and possessive. âEvery inch. Every moan. Every little gasp⊠mine.â
By the time he finally pulled back, you were trembling, body slick, drool catching at your lips, utterly undone. He pressed his forehead to yours, chest rising and falling against yours, letting you breathe, letting you feel just how completely heâd taken over.
âShh, be quiet now,â he said softly, but the possessive edge in his tone made it clear: this wasnât over. Not yet.
The city lights streaked past the windshield as the engine idled, quiet now except for the soft hum and your ragged breathing. You were slumped against him, still trembling, skin sticky with sweat, hair falling in damp strands across your face.
Rikiâs hand drifted down to brush it away gently, thumb stroking your cheek. âHey⊠hey, look at me,â he murmured, voice softer now, still low but comforting. You lifted your head, blinking at him through the haze, and he smiled â that rare, quiet smile, not teasing, not predatory, just him.
âYou did so good,â he said, brushing a strand of hair behind your ear. âYou handled everything⊠exactly like I knew you would.â
You groaned softly, leaning against him, limbs heavy and spent. He tucked you closer, one arm wrapping securely around your waist, pulling you onto his lap so your back rested against his chest. His other hand found yours, fingers entwining, grounding you in the moment.
âShh⊠just breathe,â he whispered, thumb rubbing soothing circles over your knuckles. âItâs okay. You donât have to do anything except let me hold you.â
You let out a shaky laugh, half-dazed, half-relieved. âYou⊠you really know how to ruin someone,â you murmured, voice small, still fluttering with residual heat.
Riki chuckled, low and soft. âOnly the right people,â he said, kissing the top of your head.

Your cheek was pressed against the cool wall, palms flat against it for balance. Jeonginâs chest was hot against your back, his breath harsh against your ear as he shoved your hips into position.
âStay right there,â he growled, one large hand wrapping around your throat and pinning you in place.
The first thrust made you jolt, your knees threatening to buckle, but his grip kept you steady. He didnât ease in â he buried himself in you in one brutal stroke, groaning low at the way you clenched around him.
âFuckââ his voice cracked into a laugh, dark and satisfied. âLook at you already falling apart.â
Every snap of his hips shoved you harder into the wall, his hand at your throat keeping you from moving forward. The sting of his pace blurred quickly into dizzying pleasure, each thrust deep and merciless.
âCanât even hold yourself up, huh?â His words brushed your ear, cruel and amused. âWhereâs that smart mouth now?â
You whined, lips parted uselessly, drool catching on your chin as he pounded into you harder, faster. His grip tightened just enough to make your head swim, grounding you in the rhythm of his cock slamming into you from behind.
The sound of skin meeting skin filled the room â sharp, relentless â and Jeongin angled his hips until every thrust knocked the breath out of you.
âFuck, thatâs it,â he groaned, dragging you back onto him with every snap. âTake it. Take all of it.â
You tried to answer, but all that came out was a choked whimper, your words lost in the way your body shook under him.
Jeongin chuckled, rough and breathless, tightening his hold on your throat as he fucked you harder against the wall. âGood girl. Donât need you to talk. Just need you to take it.â
Your knees threatened to give out, but Jeongin wasnât letting you collapse. His hand stayed firm around your throat, the other digging bruises into your hip as he slammed into you without pause. Every thrust pushed a broken sound out of you, high and wrecked, your body trembling with the effort of taking it.
âThought you were tough, huh?â he rasped, his voice low and mocking against your ear. âCouldnât shut up before. Now look at you.â
Your lips parted, but nothing coherent came out â just a wet, desperate whimper. Drool slipped past your mouth, your forehead pressed to the wall as you struggled to keep focus.
Jeongin groaned, the sound sharp and satisfied. âFuck, youâre gone. My dumb little slut.â His pace never slowed, hips snapping against your ass until the sound of skin meeting skin filled the room, relentless and raw.
Your body clenched hard around him, orgasm tearing through you without warning, leaving you shaking in his hold. But Jeongin didnât stop. If anything, he fucked you harder, chasing his own release, dragging you through wave after wave of overstimulation.
You sobbed his name, half-plea, half-broken cry.
âToo much?â he mocked, squeezing your throat just enough to make your vision blur. âYou can take it. Youâre gonna take it until Iâm done, my love.â
Another climax ripped out of you, your nails clawing uselessly at the wall, your body collapsing forward if not for his grip holding you up. Your brain felt foggy, words gone, replaced with incoherent moans and drool spilling down your chin.
Jeonginâs thrusts turned ragged, deeper, his breath hot and unsteady. âThatâs it. Thatâs what I wanted â me being stuffed so deep into you that you canât even think. Just my dumb little girl for me to use.â
With a final groan, he buried himself fully inside, his grip on your throat tightening as he spilled into you, hips grinding through the last shuddering thrusts.
You were shaking, weak, totally wrecked â your voice gone, your body a trembling mess pinned to the wall.
Jeongin loosened his grip finally, kissing the side of your jaw almost tenderly, his breath still harsh against your skin.
âYou did so well,â he murmured with a low chuckle, pulling you back against his chest. âGuess I finally found a way to shut you up though.â
Your legs wobbled when Jeongin finally let you go, your body sagging against the wall. He caught you instantly, strong arms wrapping around your waist before you could stumble.
âEasy,â he murmured, voice low but gentle now, guiding you away from the wall. He walked towards his bed and laid you on it, easing you back against the pillows.
You blinked up at him, dazed, your lips parted as you tried to steady your breathing. Jeongin brushed your hair from your face, his thumb tracing softly along your cheek. âGood girl,â he whispered, pressing a kiss to your temple. âYou really did so well for me, baby.â
You hummed faintly, the sound weak but content, eyes fluttering shut.
Jeongin left just long enough to grab a warm cloth, then came back to clean you up with careful, unhurried touches. His expression had softened, all sharp edges gone, replaced with quiet focus as he wiped your skin and made sure you were comfortable.
When he finished, he tugged the blanket over you, sliding in beside you and pulling you against his chest. His hand rubbed slow circles into your back, steady and grounding.
âYouâre okay,â he said softly against your hair. âIâve got you.â
Your only answer was a quiet sigh as you melted into him, too wrecked to speak, but safe in the weight of his arms.

âYou find yourself at a party with your academic rival, who happens to be drunk and has a lot on his mind.â
You have always been praised ever since you were a young child, known in schools as the smartest kid and gifted with a talent. The scholarships seemed never ending, but you had your heart set on a school already. It was one of the most prestigious colleges in the world, people would travel from all over to come here but so many were easily turned down. As for you, you didnât have to prove much to get in.
The first day you showed up, there were a bunch of people promoting their clubs in the courtyard. As you walked past them, a few caught your attention but not enough for you to seriously consider joining. You just didnât have time for a club, you were focused on just getting your degrees and leaving. A part of you really wanted to join the student council, but it sounded too stressful. Plus, the people there were not the crowd you wanted to be around, especially Jay Park.
The two of you went to the same high school and you were always being compared to him. You hated how much he would show off his academic achievements and how all your friends would ask about how come you arenât going to all the events he would, even though you were well over qualified. You never went to any of those school championships because a part of you was afraid of being compared to Jay again.
He wasnât a mean person, or rude, or even did anything towards you that made you hate him. You were simply jealous. You were jealous of all the times his name would pop up in conversations, how a friend of yours asked if you think they had a chance with him, his face being the cover of the school newsletter every now and then. You wanted to be the best in the school, but he took up the spotlight.
So when you found out he also got accepted to your dream school, a part of you gave up. You didnât bother signing up for any of the clubs or extra classes. You decided to graduate and move on from school life. You just ignored him when you saw him outside promoting the student council, it felt like it wasnât worth your time. No matter how hard you tried, you could never get out of his shadow, so why bother stepping into the light?
àł
âDid you hear about the party this weekend?â
As you were scrolling on your phone, your friend perked up and asked you that simple question. You were having brunch with your best friend at the school's cafe, it was filled with plants and artwork hanging on the walls. There was some indie jazz radio playing softly in the background, usually students and staff came here to work or hang out. âNo. Was I supposed to?â You answered, not fully interested in a party. Itâs not that you didnât like parties, it's that the party crowd here was a little snobbish and didnât make you feel too welcome.Â
âWell yeah? I heard itâs going to be pretty big too. A lot of big names from school are going. Some rich kidâs parents are out on business and he plans on trashing the place.â Your friend, Sunoo, replied. Sipping on his iced drink watching you ignore him. âCome on, when was the last time you went to a party? Like an actual house party.â
You paused for a moment thinking to yourself. â...Does your birthday count?â Sunooâs face went into a disappointed expression as you said that. Not like he was that surprised though, you tend to hide in your room to play games or study. âNo, of course that doesnât count, why would you even ask that.â He said in a scoff.
Then he got a little tense and shifted in his seat. âI did hear a rumor though⊠about the party.â You looked up from your phone and leaned in closer, a little curious about what rumor he had in store. âI heard your crush is going to be thereâŠâ Sunoo kind of looked away, peeking over to watch for your reaction.
âAnd Iâve heard enough.â You started to stand up from the chair, acting like you were going to leave him right then and there. âIâm joking, I'm joking! Sit back down!â Sunoo reached out to grab your arm, pulling you back to sit down again. You followed his word and sat back down smiling that it got a reaction out of him.
âI donât actually know if heâs going to be there, I just heard it from some freshmen trying to start gossip. But donât believe them! Why would Jay of all people go to a party like this, potentially risking his position as head of student council?â You played with the straw in your cup listening to him ramble about how he heard the rumor.
âWhen I went up to them and asked if it was true, they started to panic. Plus, why would freshmen be there? Itâs pretty much only seniors going and a few lower classmen who found a way in through mutuals.â
You sighed a bit. You were already turned away to the idea of going to a party, but the thought of Jay being there? Might as well never go anywhere just in case he might show up. Who knows what he would do there of all places, you couldnât imagine it would be anything good. Probably some stunt to get people to like him more than they already do. You looked back down at your phone, looking back at a game you were playing before this conversation started. âI donât know. If thereâs even a slight possibility Jay is going to be there, then I donât want to risk my chances going.â
Sunoo grabbed your phone out of your hand and set it down on the table. âY/N. I am dead set on going to this party. I can not miss it for anything.â You just looked at him unamused, unfazed.
âThen go alone.â
He lost it. He acted like you just stabbed him a million times. He threw his hands up in frustration, holding the sides of his head, lighting gripping his hair out of distress. You won't lie, it was funny to tease him like that, so you had to hold back a laugh. âDo you want me to die?? I was born to go to this party, do you even realize how much I had to go through to even get the details to be able to take us there??â
You had to shush him a few times because a few students looked over at your table, concerned what was going on. âWhat did you even do then, huh? What drastic measures did you take?â You asked, smiling a bit because of his reaction to you. He looked at you like a soldier just coming out of war. âI had to dog sit for the rich kid who is throwing the party.â
You were a bit confused. âThen why are you acting like it was a huge deal?â
He sat up straight and looked into your eyes, his face was serious, his eyes glossed over. âThat dog was the devil. It ate my food, Y/N. My food.â He sighed, his head slumping down into his arms on the table. âWho wouldâve thought that pomeranians could be so selfishâŠâ His words were muffled in his sleeves. All you could do was reach over and pat him on the shoulder. Sunoo found a way to get everyone to like him, almost like he had some type of magic power that made people drawn to him. He knew how to sweet talk people to get what he wanted. If he wanted to get invited to the biggest house party of the year, he would find a way, dragging you along with him. Sunoo never went anywhere without bringing you along. No matter what excuses you made, you somehow found yourself next to him wherever he planned on taking you that day. Even if it was just to get some groceries, you had to come with.
âIâll think about it.â Upon hearing that, his head snapped up to look at you with a huge smile, his face glowing with joy. âI said Iâll think about it. Thatâs not a yes.â He scoffed lightly, still smiling like he won the lottery. âDoesnât matter, you still are considering it.â All you could do was mentally regret your own words, but it was worth it to make him happy.
àł
It was the day of the party. You still didnât give Sunoo a definite answer on whether you were going or not. He was pretty bummed out about it but he also understood, or at least told you that to make you not feel pressured. You were laying on your bed, listening to music in your headphones and staring at the ceiling. Sunoo was right though, you hadnât really gone out to a party in a while to have fun. All the most recent parties you went to were all planned by Sunoo, not huge parties either, just a small house party he would throw every now and then for his friend circles.
You considered everything that might go wrong at the party. Every insane situation that might ruin the night or get the cops called. Itâs not like you were going to face some nightmare there and the chances of Jay actually being there were slim, it was just a party. The worst that could happen is having to carry Sunoo out of the party because he was too drunk to properly walk a straight line. At the end, you figured why not. You werenât in any clubs to uphold an image for, you werenât part of the student council, it was just you.
âIâll goâ
You messaged Sunoo and it was like he was waiting in your dms because it showed as seen the second you hit send. The next thing you heard was a loud knock on your door. You got up to answer, and standing on the other side was Sunoo. All dressed up ready to go and holding a bag. âGet dressed.â
âHow the fuck did you get here so fast-â He cut you off by placing his finger on your lips, shushing you. âDoesnât matter, just get dressed. I already got you the outfit the day I heard about the party.â He shoved the bag into your chest. You swore he was some kind of psychopath, but you just went along with it.Â
You peeked in the bag and the colors of the outfit seemed to be color coordinated with his, he even got you a pair of shoes to match. He really got you the full outfit, at least it was all in your size and style so you couldnât be too mad at him. You just stepped aside to let him in, closing the door behind and following him back into the dorm room. Thankfully you didnât share a dorm with anyone, so the only person that had to deal with Sunooâs sudden appearance was you.
You stepped into the bathroom and changed into the clothes he brought. Shockingly, they really matched your personal style. It made you glad Sunoo was the friend to pay close attention to all the little things about you, somehow that included your clothing size which you werenât sure how he found that out but that was something to think about for another time.
The bathroom door opened, you turned around to see Sunoo looking down at his phone. âOk, so I got us a ride to the- oh my god.â His jaw dropped when he looked up to see you. He was stunned. âWow, I really know how to pick out the perfect outfit for you.â He started to fake tear up while smiling like a proud mom watching her kid grow up.
You just smiled and looked back in the mirror to check yourself out, lightly touching up your shirt. âYeah, you did pretty well, how much do I have to pay you for it?â You looked back over at him, genuinely ready to pay him back for however much he spent on you.
âYou coming to this party with me is more than enough.â He quickly took a few selfies and pics with you in the mirror before pushing you out the door. âCome on, our ride is almost here. We canât be late.âÂ
àł
When you and Sunoo got out of the car, there was a large gate blocking your way getting inside. Sunoo let out a loud, dramatic sigh before walking up to the small box next to the gate and speaking into it. You didnât quite hear exactly what he said, but you did hear the tone shift from him complaining under his breath to a sweet melodic voice he put on to speak to whoever was listening on the other side.
Sunoo slumped over and kicked a rock on the driveway. âThey said they need to confirm we are allowed in, whatever that means.â You nodded and stood next to him as you checked the time on your phone. Suddenly, the gates started to slide open and Sunoo once again became a ball of radiant energy, grabbing your hand and leading you in. He was talking so fast you couldnât understand a word he was saying but he seemed excited the two of you got in.
There were flashing lights of all colors everywhere, some people standing around the front of the house drinking and smoking, a couple making out by the front door, and a guy throwing up in a bush off the side. Sunoo linked arms with you before reaching the front door and looked over at you. âTonight, let's dance until our legs fall off.â He said that like it was the best idea ever and all you could think was how you were starting to regret coming along.
As soon as you walked through the front door, the bass of the music playing rattled your heart and the smell of smoke filled your lungs. Sunoo lead you through the crowd of people and towards the bar, yelling over the music to order the both of you drinks.
àł
After a couple hours of dancing and drinking with Sunoo, you managed to slip away to a hallway upstairs. You found a spot with no one around and just sat down on the floor against the wall. Your head was spinning from all the loud music downstairs and flashing lights, you just needed a moment to yourself without anyone offering you a drink.
A few minutes went by and the door in front of you opened up. Stumbling out was a man with dark hair, his clothes and hair looked a little messed up. He was holding a beer bottle in one hand and balancing himself against the door frame with the other.
âWhat are you doing here?â The moment you heard that voice, you tensed up and wanted to run away as fast as you could. It was Jay, cause of course it just had to be him of all people. âI should be asking you that instead.â You managed to muster up your words, you never really thought you would have to talk to him.
You started to feel sick, you couldnât tell if it was the alcohol or the uneasy feeling you had about the situation. You just looked away, not like you had a place to go anyways. Jay walked over towards you and sat near you on the floor, he reeked of alcohol. You scooted a little away from him hoping he would take the hint that you wanted to be left alone.
âWhy do you always avoid me?â His voice was softer than before, it sounded genuine and a little sad.
âWhat?â You were pretty taken aback by his sudden question. You looked over at him, his head was drooped down, his arm resting on a knee. You couldnât help but to be amused by the sight of him like this. It was rare to see his perfect image slip in public, and this time you got a front row seat.
âI said, why do you always avoid me?â He didnât look up, not even a little. You just sat there staring at him, not sure how to answer. Before you could try to make up some type of reply he kept talking. âI do so much to get you to notice me. I worked hard to get your attention in high school, thinking maybe if I could be the best you would look at me for once. Even now, you moved further away from me.â
You were shocked. You werenât sure how to react or respond to him, so you just watched and listened to what he had to say. âI was really hoping you would notice me this time. Notice that we had some of the same classes together or that we would take the same bus to get to school. Hell, I even tried being obvious about it and waved at you a few times. But you just ignored me and it felt like you were so out of reach.â
He paused and looked up at you, then at your lips. Something fluttered in you as if someone let loose a hundred butterflies in your stomach. Maybe it was a dream and this wasnât real is what you kept telling yourself in your mind. The two of you just looked at each other for a moment before his hand snuck up to your cheek. Without thinking you let it happen, leaning in closer to him.
His lips were an inch away from yours and you could feel his steady breathing. âI want your attention, even if it's just once. Please.â His words came out as a whisper against your lips, his words felt like he was begging for you to do something. You slightly nodded and you felt his lips press against yours. Never in a million years would you think you would be at a party and find yourself kissing Jay, the person you swore you would never be seen around. But here you are, sitting on the floor of a hallway you werenât familiar with, next to him.

The theater was dark, the screen being the only thing lighting up the rows of seats. The movie played loud enough to drown out most small sounds, and the people scattered around you seemed too focused on it to notice anything else. It wasnât packed, but there were enough people there to remind you this wasnât private.
You didnât think much at first, but the way Hyunjin sat beside you made your heart pound too hard for it to feel casual. His long legs stretched comfortably in the narrow row, one knee angled ever so slightly toward you. He hadnât said much since the movie started, but you didnât need words to notice how close his body was to yours. You werenât sure why you paid so much attention to him tonight.
When his hand brushed against your thigh, you thought it was an accident. A simple shift, nothing more. You didnât even look at him, afraid that meeting his eyes would give away just how fast your pulse had jumped. But then his hand settled there, heavy, deliberate.
You stiffened, the leather of the seat squeaking under the movement.
Hyunjin leaned in, close enough that his hair brushed your temple. His voice was a low whisper, almost drowned out by the movie.
âRelax.â
The word melted through you, a command disguised as comfort. His thumb stroked lazily over your thigh, small circles that burned through your jeans. Each pass crept a little higher, daring you to stop him. You didnât.
You couldnât.
Your breath caught when his hand slid fully onto your leg, warm and possessive, his palm pressing down as if he wanted to pin you there. He shifted, pretending to focus on the movie, but his fingers continued their slow climb, inch by inch.
You shifted in your seat, crossing one leg over the other, but that only trapped his hand closer to where you were already starting to ache. He smirked faintly, the corner of his mouth curving, and you knew heâd noticed.
âKeep watching,â he murmured.
Easier said than done.
By the time his fingers grazed the hem of your shirt, you were practically holding your breath. Then, his knuckles skimmed against the bare strip of skin above your waistband of your shorts, a light touch that had you shivering in the cool air of the theater. He paused there, teasing, as though testing whether youâd squirm away. When you didnât, his hand slid beneath your clothes, hot against your skin, and rested low on your stomach.
The movie blurred into nothing. Every nerve was tuned only to him, to the way his hand inched lower and lower, until his fingertips brushed the waistband of your underwear.
You bit the inside of your cheek to stay quiet.
Hyunjin tilted his head toward you, lips brushing against your ear as he whispered,
âGood girl.â
The words nearly undid you.
When his fingers finally pressed lower â over your underwear, the thin fabric already damp â your thighs tensed, instinctively squeezing together. He chuckled softly, a dark sound that vibrated against your neck.
âDonât you dare close them,â he whispered.
Slowly, deliberately, he rubbed his fingers over the fabric, not rushing, just circling, pressing, teasing you to the point of madness. The friction made you tremble, the wetness soaking through faster than you could stop it.
And still, you couldnât make a sound.
Hyunjinâs hand slid further down, bold now, fingertips slipping beneath the waistband of your panties. When he finally touched you, skin against skin, you almost gasped â but his free hand rose quickly, two fingers pressing against your chin, tilting your face toward him.
âEyes on me,â he breathed. His own gaze was sharp, molten even in the dim light.
The movie might as well not exist. The theater, the people around you â all of it vanished under the weight of his fingers brushing against your folds, spreading you open, drawing slow circles over your clit.
You clenched your jaw to hold back a sound.
He smiled, watching your face, his fingers growing more deliberate. The rhythm built agonizingly slow, like he had all the time in the world, like he wanted to see how long you could last before you broke.
And just as your thighs twitched, just as a whimper threatened to escape, his lips brushed against your ear again.
âStay quiet for me, baby. Or Iâll make you.â
Hyunjin didnât wait long after warning you. His fingers slipped lower, sliding through your folds before pushing inside. The sudden stretch made you jolt in your seat, a shaky breath escaping before you could stop it. His head turned toward you instantly, sharp eyes locking on yours.
âQuiet,â he muttered, barely moving his lips.
He pumped his fingers slowly at first, watching your reaction more than the screen. The wet sound of him working inside you was faint under the noise of the movie, but you could hear it, and it made your stomach twist tighter.
A second finger slipped in, filling you more, and you gripped the armrest hard enough that your knuckles ached. You tried to shift, to hide how much you were shaking, but Hyunjinâs free hand came down heavy on your thigh, holding you in place.
âDonât move,â he whispered.
His pace picked up, the steady rhythm making your thighs twitch. Your lips parted, a whimper threatening to spill out, but before it could, his other hand shot up and clamped over your mouth. His palm pressed firm against your lips, muffling you completely.
âBetter,â he said quietly, smirking when he felt the sound vibrate against his hand.
He angled his fingers just right, hitting deep enough that you squirmed in the seat, hips jerking without meaning to. His eyes cut to you again, daring you to make a scene.
When your breathing turned too shaky, he slid his hand off your mouth, only to push two fingers between your lips.
âSuck,â he ordered.
You obeyed instantly, your tongue curling around them as he pushed them deeper into your mouth. The taste of his skin filled your tongue, muffling your shaky moans as his other hand kept fucking into you under the cover of your clothes.
âGood girl,â he murmured, watching the way your lips wrapped around his fingers. âKeep them busy.â
Your thighs trembled, heat spreading fast, the coil in your stomach winding tighter and tighter. It was almost impossible to sit still, to stay quiet while he worked you like that. Every thrust of his fingers made your body jolt, and you bit down gently on his knuckles to keep from crying out.
Hyunjin leaned in close, his breath brushing your ear. âYouâre about to cum in the middle of a theater, arenât you? Nasty girl.â he whispered.
Your whole body was trembling, thighs shaking as Hyunjin worked his fingers inside you. The movie noise faded into nothing; all you could hear was the blood rushing in your ears and the wet sound of him fucking you slowly with his hand. You were so close it hurt, your walls clenching tight around his fingers.
You whimpered around the fingers still shoved in your mouth, desperate, your hips pushing up against his hand without control. He smirked, curling his fingers deeper, and leaned down until his lips brushed the shell of your ear.
âAbout to cum, huh?â he mentioned again.
You nodded frantically, eyes squeezed shut, the tension snapping tight in your stomach.
And then, suddenly â he stopped.
His fingers slipped out of you, leaving you empty and throbbing. The shock of it made your eyes fly open, a broken noise muffled against his hand. Before you could even process it, he pulled his fingers out of your mouth too, wiping the spit across your cheek casually as he stood.
âGet up,â he ordered.
You stared at him, dazed, legs trembling. He grabbed your wrist, tugging you to your feet before you could protest. âNow.â
You stumbled after him, the heat still between your legs making every step unbearable. He didnât even look back, just dragged you down the aisle and out the door. The sudden brightness of the hallway made you flinch, but no one paid attention â he moved too fast, too sure, like he knew exactly where he was taking you.
He shoved open the bathroom door and pushed you inside ahead of him. The sound of the lock clicking shut behind you echoed in the small space.
Before you could speak, Hyunjin had you against the wall. Your back hit the cold tile, his hand grabbing your chin hard to tilt your face up toward his. His mouth crashed against yours, rough, messy, his teeth catching your lip. You gasped into the kiss, and he used it to shove his tongue deep, dominating you completely.
When he pulled back, a string of spit connected your mouths. His grip tightened on your jaw, his thumb pressing into your cheek.
âYou think you get to cum without my say so?â he asked, voice low, sharp.
You shook your head quickly, breathless.
âThatâs what I thought.â
His hand left your face only to wrap around your throat, pinning you to the wall. The pressure wasnât enough to cut your air off, but it was firm, controlling. He smirked at your reaction â eyes wide, lips parted â as his other hand fumbled with his belt.
The clink of the buckle made your pulse spike.
He yanked his pants down just enough, his cock already hard, flushed and leaking. He pressed the head against your entrance through your soaked clothes, grinding just enough to make your body jolt.
âBeg,â he said simply, his grip on your throat tightening slightly.
Your chest heaved, heat pooling between your legs as Hyunjin pressed against you. His hand on your throat tightened just enough to make your pulse spike, his eyes dark and sharp.
âSay it,â he murmured, leaning close so your lips brushed against his. âSay you want it. Beg for me.â
You swallowed hard, cheeks burning, body trembling under his grip. âPlease⊠please, Hyunjin⊠I want youâŠâ Your voice was shaky, barely a whisper, muffled by the echo of the small bathroom.
He smirked at the sound, satisfaction flickering in his eyes. âLouder,â he said, his hand tightening around your jaw now. âI want to hear it, baby. Beg properly.â
âPlease⊠fuck me⊠I need you⊠I need you inside meâŠâ Your words came faster, desperate, your body already aching for him.
âGood girl,â he said, his voice low and rough. Then, without another word, he grabbed your hips and spun you around. Your hands hit the wall as he pressed you forward, your chest flat against the cold tiles, legs trembling. He smoothly took your shorts and underwear off.
His hands gripped your waist tight, keeping you pressed against him, as he aligned himself with your entrance. He pushed inside in one smooth, controlled thrust, filling you completely.
You gasped, knees buckling slightly, and he caught you with one arm wrapped around your waist, holding you steady. The other hand went to your mouth, pressing firmly when your whines started to slip out.
âShh,â he growled. âQuiet. Just feel me.â
He began moving in a steady, hard rhythm, pressing your chest into the wall, the bathroom small enough that every sound â your muffled moans, the wet slap of his hips â felt loud and intimate.
Every so often, he slid two fingers into your mouth, forcing you to taste yourself on him while he drove into you from behind. Your legs quivered, your walls clenching around him, desperate for more.
âLook at you,â he whispered against your ear, âso fucking good for me. You like being pinned, donât you?â
You shivered, nodding, lips parted, body trembling from overstimulation. âYes⊠yes, HyunjinâŠâ
He grinned darkly, pumping faster, holding you firmly against the wall, his hand still over your mouth when a soft cry tried to escape. The pressure, the control, the intimacy â it all combined to make your body coil tighter, ready to break at any moment.
Your body was trembling against the wall, every nerve screaming as Hyunjin drove into you hard, relentless. His hand stayed over your mouth whenever a whine slipped out, and the taste of his fingers in your mouth made your head spin. You could barely think, barely breathe, just coil tighter around him with each thrust.
âYouâre so close, arenât you?â he growled into your ear, voice low and possessive. âLook at you⊠so fucking tight for me.â
Your hands pressed flat against the cold wall for support, knees threatening to buckle under the intensity. âPlease⊠I canât⊠Iâmââ Your words broke into muffled moans under his palm, your body betraying you as heat surged hotter and hotter.
âBeg me one more time,â he hissed, fingers digging slightly into your hips. âTell me youâre mine, that you need me to finish you.â
âPlease⊠I need you⊠Iâm yours⊠fuck me⊠I need itâŠâ You trembled, hips lifting involuntarily into him, walls clenching so tight it made him groan.
He smirked darkly, one last slow thrust sending you over the edge. Your body convulsed around him, legs shaking, hips trembling as your release hit in waves. Your cries were muffled by his hand, but the way he pressed against you, grinding into your climax, made it feel like the most intimate thing in the world.
He waited, letting you ride it out, before pulling back slightly, lips brushing your ear. âGood girl,â he whispered, voice rough.
Your body was still trembling when he thrusted into you again, his own release building. The tight, hot heat of you around him was driving him wild. One last hard thrust and he came, groaning, holding you close, pressing his hand firmly against your mouth as he emptied into you.
After a moment, he pulled back, letting you catch your breath, hands lingering possessively on your hips. You leaned against the cold wall, chest heaving, hair sticking to your forehead.
He smirked down at you, brushing a strand of hair from your face. âLook at you,â he murmured, voice rough but playful. âCompletely wrecked because of me.â
Your legs were still trembling when he finally pulled out, steadying you against the wall before you could stumble. His hand smoothed down your back, a grounding touch, and then he turned you gently in his arms so you were facing him.
âHey,â he whispered, brushing your damp hair back from your face. His thumb lingered at your temple, soft against overheated skin. âYou okay?â
You nodded, though your chest was still rising and falling quickly. He didnât look convinced at first, but when you leaned into him, resting your forehead against his shoulder, his arms wrapped tight around you. He pressed a kiss to the side of your head, his lips lingering there.
âMy pretty girl,â he murmured, softer now, the words comforting you. He stroked your back slowly, letting you catch your breath in the quiet. The pounding of your heartbeat was matched only by the steady rhythm of his.
When you finally looked up, his expression wasnât smug anymore â just warm. His thumb traced along your cheek as if he wanted to memorize the shape of you in that moment. âYou did so well,â he said quietly.
Your chest tightened at the tenderness in his voice, and you couldnât help the small smile tugging at your lips. He kissed you then â slow, sweet, nothing like before. Just a reassurance, a way of grounding you back into yourself.
He chuckled softly when you leaned too heavily against him, still unsteady. âCâmon,â he murmured, adjusting his hold so he could guide you. âLetâs clean you up. Donât want you walking out of here like this.â

The night had been soft from the very beginning. The kind where Jisung couldnât stop staring at you, like every second he caught a new detail he wanted to memorize. You were curled up on the couch, one of his hoodies swallowing you whole, and he swore nothing ever looked better on you.
âStop staring,â you laughed when you caught him, cheeks warming under the intensity of his gaze.
âCanât,â he said easily, his voice low but laced with affection. âYouâre too pretty for me to even try.â
It made you roll your eyes, but he caught the little smile tugging at your lips before you looked away. He reached for you, pulling you gently into his lap until you were straddling him, your knees pressed against the cushions on either side. His hands settled on your waist, thumbs tracing lazy circles through the fabric.
âYou know I love you, right?â His voice was quiet, almost reverent, like a confession he needed to make over and over.
âI know,â you whispered back, your arms looping around his neck. âAnd I love you too.â
The kiss he pressed to your lips wasnât rushed â it was slow, warm, almost fragile, but it deepened quickly, like he couldnât hold back anymore. His hands slipped under the hem of the hoodie, fingertips brushing your skin, and the sound that left his throat when he touched you sent a shiver down your spine.
âYou drive me insane,â he murmured against your mouth, pulling back just enough to look at you. His eyes were dark, heavy with emotion. âEvery part of you â god, I donât even know where to start.â
You felt yourself flush because of his words, but he didnât let you shy away. He kissed down your jaw, trailing soft, open-mouthed kisses along your neck, his hands roaming like he was memorizing every inch of you.
When he pushed the hoodie higher, you let him, the fabric sliding up over your stomach until it stopped under your arms. His breath caught. He looked at you like you were something holy.
âSo beautiful,â he whispered, running his hands over your sides, your stomach, your hips, like he couldnât believe you were real. âI love your body. Every part. You donât even know what you do to me.â
The way he said it made your chest ache. He wasnât just admiring â he was worshipping. Every kiss he left against your skin carried the truth, slow and deliberate, until you were trembling under the softness of it.
But then the softness switched, just a little, into something deeper. His grip on your hips tightened, his kisses turning hotter, hungrier. You gasped when his teeth grazed your collarbone, and he pulled back just to smirk faintly, his eyes flicking to yours.
âTell me what you want,â he said, voice rough now, almost desperate.
âYou,â you breathed without hesitation, fingers curling in his hair.
That was all it took. The hoodie was gone in seconds, tossed aside, and he eased you back onto the couch, lowering you until you were beneath him. His mouth was on you again right away, trailing lower this time â across your chest, your stomach â each kiss firmer, wetter, needier. He was everywhere, like he couldnât get enough, and the way he murmured praises between kisses made your whole body light up.
âPerfectâŠâ kiss.
âMy beautiful girlâŠâ another kiss.
âIâll spend the rest of my life proving it to you.â
The words and the heat of his mouth blended until you were breathless, clinging to him, every nerve alive under his touch. When he finally pressed his forehead against yours, both of you gasping for air, he smiled through it, soft and sincere even in the haze of desire.
âIâll always love you like this,â he promised.
His lips trailed lower, down the curve of your stomach. Each kiss slower, wetter, until you were squirming under him. Jisungâs hands spread wide on your hips, grounding you, and when his mouth hovered just above the waistband of your shorts, he looked up at you with a faint, devastating smile.
âLet me show you what you do to me,â he muttered, his voice hoarse.
He tugged at your shorts, slow but determined, slipping them down your legs along with your underwear until you were bare. The way he stared at you made your breath hitch â like he was taking in something sacred. His thumb brushed over your hip, his jaw tight, before he lowered his head and kissed the inside of your thigh.
The first stroke of his tongue made you jolt, a broken sound leaving your throat before you could stop it. He held you steady, lips and tongue worshipping you with unrelenting patience, as if every gasp and moan from your mouth was something heâd been craving forever.
âJisungââ you breathed, fingers tangling in his hair, pulling him closer without meaning to.
He groaned at the sound of his name on your lips, his tongue working harder, circling, stroking, until you were trembling. Between each motion he whispered words against your skin â âso good,â âmy perfect girl,â â his voice almost breaking with sincerity.
When your thighs threatened to close around him, he held them apart firmly, his eyes flicking up to meet yours as he hummed against you. That look alone made your stomach twist tighter, until you were coming undone, gasping his name like a prayer.
But he didnât stop there. He kissed his way back up your body, slow and deliberate, covering every inch until he reached your lips again. You tasted yourself on his mouth, and the way he kissed you â hungry, messy â had your head spinning.
âNeed you,â you whispered against his lips, desperate now, tugging at the hem of his shirt.
He stripped quickly, skin warm against yours, his body pressing you into the couch. The feeling of him, hot and solid and overwhelming, made your breath catch. He kissed you again, deeper, before pulling back just enough to search your face.
âYouâre sure?â His voice was strained, his control hanging by a thread.
âYes,â you whispered, cupping his face. âI want you, Jisung.â
That was all it took. He pushed inside you slowly, carefully, watching your every reaction like it mattered more than anything. The stretch made you gasp, nails biting into his shoulders, but he hushed you with kisses, with whispered praise, until you relaxed around him.
âFuck, you feel so good,â he groaned against your neck, hips moving shallowly at first, as though he was trying to savor every second. âYouâre perfect. My perfect girl.â
The pace built gradually, slow rocking turning into deeper thrusts, his body pressing flush to yours. Every movement carried that balance â you could feel how much he adored you, the way he kissed you through the heat, but also how much he needed you, each thrust harder, deeper, pulling broken moans from your lips.
Your body tightened around him, the pressure unbearable, and you clung to him desperately.
âJisung⊠pleaseâŠâ
He groaned at your voice, burying his face against your neck, hips snapping harder. His hand slipped between your bodies, fingers finding your clit and rubbing it in rhythm with his thrusts until you shattered beneath him, crying out his name.
The sight of you falling apart had him unraveling, too. With a hoarse curse, he pressed deep, holding you tight as he spilled inside you, his whole body trembling with the force of it.
For a long moment, the only sound was your shared breaths, the frantic beating of both hearts. He kissed you softly, over and over, like he couldnât stop even if he tried.
âI meant it,â he whispered finally, forehead resting against yours. âIâll always take care of you like this.â
And as you lay beneath him, still catching your breath, you knew he wasnât just talking about tonight.

It didnât happen all at once.
That was the strangest part.
You couldnât point to a single moment when things changed â no harsh words, no slammed doors, no lingering sting of an argument replaying in your head.
It was softer than that, quieter. The kind of shift you almost missed if you werenât paying attention.
At first, you both still tried. Conversations stretched into the late hours the way they always had, laughter spilling out until your cheeks hurt. But then days got heavier, schedules piled up, and those conversations shortened.
âCall me when you get home, okay?â you said one night.
âI will.â he promised.
But he didnât.
You didnât remind him.
The next time you talked, you didnât mention it. He didnât either. It was easier that way.
Soon, the silence between texts lengthened. You used to share everything â a picture of your coffee, a funny street sign, the color of the sky during the sunset â now your phone stayed face-down more often than not. Notifications came less, and when they did, they were practical, thin things like: âGood night. Eat well. Iâll be busy tomorrow.â
You told yourself it was just life, just exhaustion, just the weight of being two people moving in opposite rhythms. But you felt it. The spaces growing wider. The pauses stretching longer.
One evening, you sat with your phone on your lap, staring at his name. You typed out: âI miss you. Do you miss me?â
Then erased it.
Typed again: âWe havenât talked in a while.â
Erased that, too.
Instead, you left the screen dark, folded your arms around yourself, and let the quiet fill the room.
It wasnât a fight. It wasnât even sadness yet. Just absence.
And absence could be louder than anything.
â
It had been weeks since you last saw him. Longer, maybe. Time blurred when there werenât dates marked on the calendar anymore, no excited countdowns until your next weekend together.
So when you ran into him, it almost startled you.
It wasnât a planned meeting â just a coincidence. A cafĂ© you both used to like, the one tucked into a corner street where the music was always too soft and the barista always spelled your name wrong. You had gone there out of habit, craving something warm and familiar.
And there he was.
Hyunjin stood by the counter, hair tied back loosely, a paper cup balanced between his fingers. He looked up just as you did, eyes catching yours across the small space.
For a moment, the world held its breath.
âHey,â you said. Your voice came out too soft, too polite, like speaking to an old classmate rather than the boy who once memorized the sound of your laugh.
âHey,â he echoed. He smiled but it was thin, fleeting â more reflex than a feeling.
Neither of you moved closer.
âHow have you been?â you asked, shifting your weight, hands curling in your sleeves.
âBusy,â he said. âAnd you?â he asked after a short pause.
âThe same.â
That was it. No âI missed youâ, no âletâs sit and catch upâ, no reaching for each other out of instinct. The distance that had grown through screens and unanswered calls followed you there, sitting like a third person at the table between you.
When your drinks were ready, you stood near each other, close enough that once upon a time, he wouldâve touched your hand, leaned into your shoulder. Now, there was just a polite nod, a small lift of his cup as though toasting something invisible.
Hyunjin cleared his throat. âWell⊠take care,â he said as he turned toward the door.
âYou too,â you smiled.
And then he was gone, disappearing into the gray afternoon, leaving you with the weight of everything you hadnât said.
You stayed inside after he left, even though your coffee had already cooled in your hands. Through the wide front window, you could see him walking down the street, his figure shrinking with every step. He didnât look back. You werenât sure if you wanted him to.
You sat down at an empty table, the same one you used to share, and set your cup down carefully, like placing something fragile. Around you, the cafĂ© hummed with quiet life â spoons clinking against mugs, the soft hiss of milk frothing, someone laughing at a private joke. It should have felt normal, but all it did was remind you of what it used to be like here with him.
Back then, Hyunjin would fill every silence. Heâd tilt his head, ask you something unexpected, or doodle little shapes on a napkin while you teased him about his terrible handwriting. The table never felt this empty, even when you were quiet together.
Now, you found yourself staring at the chair across from you, as if he might return. He didnât.
Your phone buzzed once â a notification from a group chat, nothing important â and for some reason, it almost made your chest ache. Because you knew he wasnât going to text you, not today, not tonight.
And you werenât going to text him either.
Because what would you even say?
âI saw you. You looked good. I miss you.â
No. You swallowed those thoughts the way you always did, letting them settle somewhere heavy in your stomach.
When you finally stood up to leave, your cup was still half-full. You tossed it away and stepped outside. The air was cold, brushing your cheeks sharp as you pulled your jacket tighter. For a fleeting second, you imagined him waiting down the street, imagined that heâd turn, call your name, and everything would slip back into place.
â
After that cafĂ©, the days stretched like empty corridors. You walked through them on autopilot, moving through routines he used to color with his presence. The grocery store trips, the library visits, even the little corner of your bed that used to hold his side â everything felt quieter, colder, as if life had been muted to match the space he left behind.
Sometimes, you found yourself reaching for your phone, almost typing his name. Almost sending a message. Almost breaking the fragile silence that had grown like ivy around your hearts. But each time, you stopped.
You remembered the small, dull habits: the way he hummed while brushing his teeth, the way he would steal bites of your snacks, the way he leaned over your shoulder when he wanted to read something you were typing. You could almost feel the warmth of it again, and it made your chest ache in a way words couldnât touch.
You saw him in the corners of your life anyway. On the street, someone with the same careless walk. In a song on the radio, a voice that made you think, He would like this. In a text from a friend, a joke he wouldâve laughed at. And every time, a quiet pang reminded you how far gone you both were from each other, even when you hadnât officially said it.
At night, youâd lie awake staring at the ceiling, imagining the conversations that never happened. Imagining him looking at the same moon, thinking the same small thought of you, before letting it go. Sometimes youâd whisper his name softly, a single syllable swallowed by darkness, never expecting an answer.
When friends asked how you were doing, you smiled and said, âIâm fine.â You didnât tell them about the gnawing emptiness, the way a name could make your heart beat faster and heavier at the same time. You didnât tell them how you felt him slipping farther away in every passing hour.
And yet, every so often, a memory would rise unbidden: a laugh shared over nothing, the brush of fingers on a hand, a glance held too long. Those echoes were bittersweet, beautiful, and impossible to grasp. They reminded you of what you had, what you were losing, and how gently it was being taken from you â without a fight, without a word.
Sometimes you imagined a message from him. âAre you okay?â
Or maybe just his name lighting up your screen. That small, ordinary gesture would have been enough to change everything. But the messages never came. He never reached out. You never reached out either.
Because the silence had become a language of its own. And both of you were fluent.
Both of you knew.
Neither of you needed to say it.
And in that knowledge, the end had already begun.
â
It happened on a Sunday morning that felt like any other. The sky was pale gray, the kind of light that doesnât promise warmth, just the weight of another day. You had planned to stay in bed, to let yourself sink into the soft comfort of blankets, but there was a message from him. Just a single line: âCan we meet?â
You didnât hesitate. Not because you were ready or because you wanted this conversation, but because some part of you still ached to see him and hear his voice and to try, even once more, to make sense of everything.
When you arrived at the park you used to go to, he was already there. Sitting on the edge of the fountain, hands clasped between his knees, gaze fixed on the rippling water as though it held the answer. He didnât look up when you approached.
âHyunjinâŠâ Your voice was soft. Gentle. Tentative. But it seemed to startle him, because his shoulders shifted, and finally, he met your eyes.
For a moment, neither of you spoke. The silence wasnât uncomfortable, not at first â it was familiar. You had been living in this silence for weeks, months, whatever it had become. But then it pressed down, heavy and unrelenting, filling the space between you with the unspoken words that had grown like weeds.
âI⊠I canât do this anymore,â he said finally, voice low, almost swallowed by the cold morning air.
Your chest tightened. You blinked, trying to find something to hold onto in his eyes. âWhat do you mean?â
âI mean⊠us,â he said, and the way he said it â gentle, careful, like he didnât want to hurt you â cut deeper than any anger or yelling ever could. âI canât keep pretending that everything is okay when it isnât. When itâs⊠this.â
He gestured vaguely between you, between the space that had always been small once, now stretched impossibly wide. âWeâve⊠stopped. We talk less, we⊠donât reach out, donât laugh the same way. I donât know how to fix it, and maybe⊠maybe we canât.â
You felt your hands curl into fists at your sides. âYou⊠youâre saying itâs over?â
âI think we both know it already,â he admitted, looking down at the fountain again, his voice soft, distant, like he was speaking to himself as much as to you. âI just⊠I wanted to say it. Out loud.â
The words landed like stones in your chest. You wanted to cry, to scream, to shake him and make him tell you it wasnât true, that this was a mistake. But all you could do was nod, because deep down, you had known it too. You had felt it with every unanswered text, every missed call, every quiet evening spent wondering where he was.
âI⊠I donât want to fight,â he said, almost apologetically. âI donât want it to be messy. I⊠I just want you to remember us⊠how we were, without this bitterness.â
You swallowed hard, words failing you. Your throat was tight. Tears pricked the corners of your eyes, but you blinked them away. You couldnât let them fall in front of him. Not now. Not this way.
âI⊠I donât know if I can,â you whispered finally. Your voice cracked, small and fragile. âI donât know how to just⊠let go.â
Hyunjinâs eyes softened, and for a moment, he reached out. His hand hovered near yours, trembling slightly, before pulling back as though the act itself might shatter you both. âI know,â he said. âI know. And it kills me too. More than youâll ever know. But⊠weâve been drifting for so long, I canât⊠I canât keep holding on when my heart feels this⊠distant.â
He stood then, slowly, deliberately. You felt your stomach drop. He didnât touch you, didnât linger. And somehow, the absence of contact was the cruelest part.
âIâll always⊠care about you,â he said. His voice was steady now, though the strain behind it was unmistakable. âIâll remember us. The good parts. The moments that made everything worth it.â
Your chest tightened so sharply you thought it might break. You couldnât speak. You just watched him take a step back, then another, until he was walking away down the path, his figure retreating into the pale light of morning.
You wanted to call him back. You wanted to run after him, to beg him to stay. But your legs wouldnât move. Your voice wouldnât come. You just stood there, heart raw, lungs tight, letting him leave. Letting him go.
The fountain rippled in the wind. A single leaf drifted across the water, spinning slowly before settling. You imagined it was you, floating quietly as the world carried him further and further away.
And when he disappeared from view entirely, your knees buckled slightly. You sank to the bench he had been sitting on, hands covering your face, and let yourself finally feel the grief you had been holding in all this time.
It wasnât dramatic. There were no screams, no slammed doors, no desperate pleas. Just the quiet, gut-wrenching ache of someone leaving who had once been everything, and the emptiness left behind.
You sat there for hours, letting the morning bleed into afternoon, until the sun hung low and the park emptied around you. You didnât move. You didnât text him. You didnât call. You just sat, and let the silence settle around you like a shroud.
And in that silence, you understood: this was the end.
â
Time passed but it didnât take anything with it.
The world carried on around you â buses came and went, people laughed in the restaurants, the seasons changed with indifferent rhythms. But you stayed in the same place, caught in the silence he had left you with.
You thought it would get easier. Everyone said it always did. That heartbreak softened, that wounds closed if you just gave them enough time. But days turned into weeks, weeks blurred into months, and the pain never disappeared.
It wasnât sharp anymore. It wasnât the kind of pain that stole your breath in one violent moment. It was worse â it was steady, lingering. A constant heaviness that clung to your chest from the moment you woke up until the moment you tried â and often failed â to sleep.
You didnât delete his number. You didnât mute his contact. Instead, you stared at his name and on your screen sometimes, thumb hovering over the call button, your heart racing at the thought of hearing his voice again. But you never pressed it. You never sent the messages you typed out at two in the morning: âI miss you. Do you ever think about me? Was it really that easy to leave?â
The drafts piled up, unsent.
You carry him in everything. The scarf at the back of your closet that still smelled faintly like his cologne. The sketchbook you hadnât opened since the last time he doodled in the corner of a page. The playlist you couldnât bring yourself to delete, though you couldnât listen to it either.
And every time you walked past the fountain in the park, the place where he had let you go with that soft, merciless voice, your chest seized like it was happening all over again. Youâd sit there sometimes, on the same bench he had occupied, as if staying in that place might somehow rewind time. As if he might walk up again, apologize, undo everything.
But he never did.
And you hated yourself for waiting. For hoping. For being unable to move forward when he had walked away so cleanly, so quietly, as though loving you had been nothing more than a chapter heâd finished reading.
You told yourself youâd heal. That one morning, youâd wake up and his absence wouldnât be the first thing you felt. But every morning proved you wrong. His ghost was everywhere, stitched into the smallest moments, refusing to let you breathe without him.
And deep down you knew: you might never really move on.
Because sometimes, the most devastating endings arenât the ones marked by fire and anger â theyâre the ones that leave you standing in silence, clutching the fragments of something that was once whole, with no way to put it back together.
You werenât over him.
And you donât know if you ever would be.
