Please note, this document is a work-in-progress. It will be updated often to keep up to date and provide as many alternatives as possible.

Why?

YouTube recently enforced a new AI-powered age-estimation and age-verification policy. The AI will look at user watch history, and attempt to guess if the user is an adult. Any user the AI deems as a non-adult will have their account locked down into teen mode unless the user can prove they are an adult via credit card or government ID.

This directory is intended to provide feasible alternatives for various platorms that are implementing similar policies that may put user's privacy and security at risk. Alternatives on this list must not have similar AI-powered age-estimation and age-verification policies, must be free or reasonably priced, and must not push AI. Some may have generative AI features, but as long as it is not actively pushing AI on users, they will be considered. Further notes for consideration will be labelled under each item as necessary.

As February begins, I'm hit with the realization that this is the first year in many years that I'll be going through this lovey-dovey month without a significant other... I was in a long-term relationship for 9 years until 2023. Last year I managed to find a temporary replacement, but I knew deep down that it wasn't going to last, and it didn't. This year I'm working more on loving myself and flying solo, and I'm okay with that.

I don't have to be romantically involved with anyone to feel fulfilled and happy and loved. I have my family, I have my friends, and I have a whole world out there to give my love to. I feel blessed that I love what I do and get to do what I love.

This makes me so very happy. When I was in Israel myself back in 2023 for what was *supposed* to be an internship program abroad, I learned that my group leader's best friend's sister Romi was one of the many kidnapped hostages. 3 degrees of seperation. I can't believe she's one of the first 3 to be welcomed back into Israel, after 470 DAYS in captivity...

I wish these girls all the love and healing and peace in the future, and pray that all the other hostages will come back home as soon as humanly possible.

Behold! I found this little guy while taking out the trash and saw all this thrown out furniture! I curiously opened up the drawers, and they were all empty except for this itty bitty pink bear!

I am naming him JoyBear, cuz it almost sounds like JoyBoy from One Piece (which is also why I chose this username). He is now my friend, and I'll take cute pictures of him, and he will be my constant companion whenever I (eventually) travel places! ^_^

With it being the new year and all, I'm thinking about something a recent Hannukah dinner guest made an observation about the Present... that who we are, everything we have, was PRE-sent! Everything that happened in the past, every decision, choice and intention that we made, that others made, that all those that came before us, have led us to NOW, because it had to be SENT here.

And if we want a good future, one that's better than the past we've had and present we're currently experiencing, we have to send a message to ourselves so that we get it, put in that order, like ordering ourselves a gift online, so we can open a new Present later down the line! Because if we don't order it, it'll never arrive! Just like you miss 100% of the basketball shots you never take, you can't get what you want until you know what you want and ask for it.

I just thought that sounded so ridiculously simple, and yet so profound. The word present being broken up into pre-sent. XD We all cracked up about it, but I feel like it was an important message too, lol
