More: It was Halloween night — 2006 — and Omaha, Nebraska news station KXVO was looking to fill airtime during the 10 o’clock hour... Which is when anchorman Matt Geiler donned a unitard and pumpkin mask and began dancing to the theme song from Ghostbusters.

While “Pumpkin Dancing Man” would make his return the following year for both Valentine’s Day and Christmas, he would toil mostly in obscurity for a few years, waiting for the internet to catch up to his meme-worthy potential... And did they ever.
