I'm not going to lie, the first time I stepped into your office, it was to kiss the new director's ass. I mean cmon, you knew man, who really would come in just to ask home you graduated with your music ed degree in four years?? Lol. I'm thankful that you were our director and you took the program to new heights. I'm even more thankful I got to be one of your "field generals" a member on your leadership team for many years. We spent a lot time in your office chatting about music, discussing different strategies, and even arguing about literally everything; let's be real here, we fought a lot. But we made it through the seasons and we kicked ass!!! I wouldn't say we took lots of pictures over the past five years, but this picture is by far my favorite we have together. Everything I've accomplished on the field, in my section, really everything I've accomplished at the university can be summed up in this picture. I'm so proud you could share that moment with me. The thing I'm most thankful for is your friendship. You were there with through it all man and I appreciate that. I was a boy when we met and as you leave I am a man. I know you're going to kill it out there in KC; eat all that delicious BBQ for me and I hope I can visit one day. Tonight I don't lose a professor, I stopped calling you Mr. Blon when I got that expensive piece of paper, tonight I'm losing a friend. I'm going to miss you Dave, but I know you'll be back.
