jon is the firstborn son of clark kent and lois lane

he grew up in smallville, but never truly felt like it was home to him

his whole life he's always felt like everyone else is running on a different wavelength to him - as though he's tuned in to a different frequency and nobody ever seems to really understand him fully

when he was 13, everything changed when he was caught up in a fight between a gang of older students at school. he'd always been tall, and they mistook him as much older than he was, jumping on him. the adrenaline caused his kryptonian dna to activate fully, and he accidentally paralysed one of the gang members, completely knocking out the rest of them.

after the accident, his parents finally told him the truth about his father and where he'd come from, his father gifting him a necklace with a crushed green stone inside called kryptonite. as long as he wore the necklace, his powers would be subdued and he'd be able to live a normal life.

unfortunately everything was far from normal - he was basically ignored at school, the story of what had happened followed him everywhere he went. smallville wasn't exactly the biggest place.

to further his isolation, he began to realise he was bisexual - and though his parents were nothing but loving and supportive, the attitudes in the town weren't exactly the most welcoming.

it wasn't until the battle of new york that jon really snapped into action. he begged his father to help, he begged that he could go and help himself, but clark refused saying that it 'isn't our fight'.

jon tore off his necklace with full intention to fly to new york and help in the battle, but he was overwhelmed by his abilities. he had never learned to control his enhanced senses, to cope with the intense noise of hearing even the slightest breath of a bumblebee's wings 4 miles away. lois tied the necklace back around his neck and he lost consciousness.

when he woke up a few days later, he was furious. he put 2 and 2 together and realised that the kryptonite necklace had been nothing but a way to keep him under control - and so he packed his bags and headed for new york.

and that is where we find him today.

he's managed to get an internship as a journalist, without name-dropping his mother, and is doing photography on the side to help pay the rent. he goes by the name 'jon white' in the hopes that his parents won't find him, having cut all ties and contact with them as of right now. he still wears his kryptonite, it's become a kind of crutch for him now - he fears his own powers if he removes it.
